Not all Zippy’s are the same. For instance, this was not a sit down restaurant with a waiter. Instead, it was a fast food counter. You ordered your food, pay, get a number, have them yell your number, find a table and eat. I tried the famous chili and thought it was just okay. Not sure why people are making a big deal of it. Even if it’s a chain, I do like Zippy’s. Local food is always good.

3.5 stars for me. The food was good, fast food type food, but the main reason we go to zippys is for the chili. It accompanies rice absolutely perfectly. If you go to zippys, gotta get the chili! Every zippys I’ve been to I’ve been to in hawaii however is a little rundown, just like your typical fast food joint. But if you’re in a rush and want decent food, zippys is a good place to go.

It’s Zippy’s, which means the food is OK overall; prices are a little on the high side for what you get; everyone has a few favorites that they order every time they come here; and the staff are a usually a little less than friendly. But it’s a good place to eat breakfast and read the newspaper before the mall opens.

La Jolla, San Diego, CA
Its one of my must haves whenever I come to Hawaii! Always gotta have the chili spaghetti!!:) Its like the McDonalds of the mainland, however it is a bit overpriced but definitely something great and fast that you’ll come back for! Top 2 orders are the Chili Spaghetti and the Chili Frank Plate, make sure you get some mac salad on the side! And since this one is connected to a mall its good to walk off everything and shop!
