While on our quest for new but ono looking grind we came across this place. It is located in Pearlridge Downtown’s food court. It is next to the monorail and Sbarro. The prices are okay, pricier but okay. The sides looked delicious but that’s basically it about the sides. hehe hey just looked good. Jeff got a mini Teri chicken. Abira got the mini Katsu and I… go big lol. I got the regular Fried pork Chop plate. One of the sides they offer is Mac n’ cheese. I love Mac n’ cheese! But they managed to mess it up. It was dry, extremely chewy and cold. The tomato salad was my other choice. I don’t know how well they wash their veggies but this one still tasted like it was dirty. I ate the sides because I couldn’t see myself wasting money and food. It’s yuck, but edible. That’s that. The main part of my meal; the fried pork chop. Wow. I was surprised. It was seasoned nicely and was cooked well. It wasn’t dry at all! That kind of made me feel a bit better. Jeff did not like that his Teri chicken was drowning in sauce nor did he like his sides. Abira liked her katsu and rice. She did not like her Mac n’ cheese but she did enjoy her corn on the cob :) I saw that they serve prime rib and honestly I reeaaallly want to try it. When we can afford it, we will go back! Hopefully the sides Wil be better next time.

Located in the food court at Downtown pearlridge, second floor,(or third if you count longs as the first floor) on the right side as you get off the escalator to the movie theaters, Hanalei has their menu on the board and prime rib and sides behind a glass for selection: Prime rib — 4 stars — $ 10 for small cut, $ 17 for a large(forgot how many ounces), but more reasonable if you get the pearlridge store brochure located in the middle of the food court or at each entrance of the mall with their coupon inside for buy one get one half off, the prime rib is reasonable with au jus sauce. Comes with rice or a mashed potato and 2 sides — the corn on the cob was really soft and tasted precooked. The mixed steamed vegetables were ok. Steak and garlic shrimp — 3 stars — I ate the steak at another time which was average, and a little dry, but this time they served me an all shrimp plate. We split 8 shrimp among ourselves with the prime rib. The mashed potatoes and mac cheese tastes boxed, the greens were ok. F’real shake — can’t rate it because i never tried it, but my son loves to order it. At about $ 4-$ 5 for a cup, I thought it was a bit expensive, but I guess nobody else sells it at pearlridge. Service — 3 stars — the service is usually ok but they have a hard time understanding sometimes. This time, they got my order wrong. I ordered steak and shrimp but i ended up with just shrimp. Overall, it’s an ok place to order, especially with the coupon, considering it’s at the food court.

Foods is tasty but smashed potatoes are instant and mac /cheese is a box but are still good. Overall, surprisingly good food. I had hamburger steak and she had mushroom chicken with the above sides.

Everything looks so good! They even have pictures which is a plus. The hamburger curry is delicious. You get 2 sides and a starch. I couldn’t decide on what to get so I also got the roast chicken with all mash and extra gravy. I’m so happy with my decisions! They are located uptown of pearlridge next to the monorail. Can’t wait to try their whole menu!

Our 2nd time at this location. We ordered the rotisserie chicken meal with mashed potatoes and mac n cheese. We had to wait while the chicken was being cooked, it was worth the wait. The chicken was hot, fresh, and very flavorful. All items were hot as it should be. I’ve also had their braised short ribs, it was very tender. The hot vegetables were well seasoned and not too hard or soft. So far I’ve had pretty good customer service, no issues like some other reviewers. Their mashed potatoes are seasoned with garlic and we didn’t use the gravy, it didn’t need it. However, we also went to their airport location and the food wasn’t as fresh but it was still ok, we ordered the fried chicken and mashed potatoes. We used the gravy here because the mashed potatoes were a little dry. Will continue to eat at either location.

The garlic chicken here was good the first time I ate it here. Served extremely hot(way to hot to even begin eating it for about 5 – 7 minutes), but that didn’t really bother me because it was fresh. I’m sure it will bother me on a day where I’m starving. Crunchy on the outside, and good texture on the inside. The second time, not so much. The chicken was kind of soft and I felt like it had been«sitting» out for awhile. I was really bummed. For the things they serve, it isn’t too expensive and they do give pretty good-sized amounts in their plates. However, I do like that they have so many different options for sides, such as steamed mixed vegetables, corn-on-the-cob, mac n cheese, etc. Vegetables were good. I believe they are sauteed in butter or something, it was kind of greasy the one time I did eat it. Tasty though. Mac and Cheese definitely needs work. I could barely taste the cheese. It was creamy, but tasteless. After my first time here, I eagerly came back to Pearlridge Shopping Center just to eat this. I was disappointed. I would eat here again, perhaps, if I was already in the area… or if I happen to be at Pearlridge.

Ordered spicy baby back ribs with mashed potato and corn. Ribs was fall of the bone tender. Didn’t have to use my fingers at all. But it was too tender for me. It more like pulled pork. I had wanted more texture like ribs at Costco or Tony Roma’s. Just poke with my fork and it just fell apart. Good for people with dentures or no teeth. Baby food. Other than that. It had a mild flavor. Not too spicy or smoky. Tasted more like a simple bottled BBQ sauce.

First time eating here and my last, I ordered the pulehu steak the wife had the garlic shrimp. She loved the shrimp but the steak SERIOUSLY was just Teri steak and was pretty lame. And at $ 11.50 a plate that’s just crazy especially because the portion size was very small. Anyway the kicker for me was while waiting a guy walks up and orders the fried chicken, they ladies reply taking the orders is(sorry we are out of fried chicken)… I couldn’t help but laugh out loud and say how does a chicken company run out of chicken!!! Even the guy who was ordering it looked at me and laughed out loud!!!

Had a really bad experience with a sassy worker. Never ate here before BUT I tell you right now I will NEVER eat there ever. The reviews are bad anyway. I will also tell all my friends never to eat here. Customer service is everything now days and they don’t have it there.

FAIL! There’s still over an hour till the mall closes and they say they are out of chicken. So a place that has ‘chicken’ in the business name runs out of their main item. It looked more like they were getting ready to clean up to close already. Thumbs down!

Nothing to write home about. Teri salmon was tiny bit raw on some parts, sauce was ok must be from a jar. It’s a good thing there is a bit of ginger otherwise the fish would be fishy-ER. The other reviews are correct… the mash potatoes are cold! Corn was meh overcooked and dry. Tomatoes and onions in some sort of vinegarette sauce ugh. For $ 12 was not really a good deal. Skipping this place next time.

I thought this place was gonna taste similar to Lahaina chicken company in ala moana. Menu and sides are pretty much the same as that Lahaina. Was excited to try since pearlridge is closer to home. I was deceived! First time i got the hamburger steak. Gravy tasted like it came from an add water seasoning pouch or from school lunch. Its kinda pricey too. Avoid it. Sadly i gave this place a second try since the fried chicken looked pretty good. Came out tasting very bland. Nothing special. Mac salad mayo tasted sour. Took one bite and left it to the side. Hopefully i don’t get food poisoning tomorrow. Done with this place. Ill stick to tsuruya when i go to downtown pearlridge food court.

cliff notes: get the garlic chicken, stay away from the loco moco. Saw this new place in Pearlridge Downtown foodcourt, so I decided to try them out. I got their garlic chicken plate, and I gotta say that their garlic chicken is DELICIOUS. I’d rank them high on my list of best garlic chicken on this island. For $ 10, you get a generous serving of rice and chicken smothered in their garlic sauce, and 2 sides. I got the mash potatoes and mac salad. I can’t care less for the potatoes, and every time I go there to eat, I just get their mac and tossed salad. Their mac salad isn’t that bad, and their tossed salad is well… tossed salad. I’ve also tried their fried pork chops, katsu curry bowl, and loco moco. Their fried pork chops, and katsu curry are pretty good too, but the portions can be bigger. The loco moco on the other hand, was horrible. Gravy was bland, the patty was sliced really thin and bland, and the egg(which I got over easy) was burnt. I don’t know how someone can burn something that takes very little skill to cook. Would have been an easy 5 star if it wasn’t for the horrible loco moco, and lack of sides. They have a variety of other good looking food items which I plan to try. But, so far, the garlic chicken is the winnah!

This place just opened up so I thought I’d give them a try. I was expecting a menu like KFC, Popeyes, Church’s, etc. But, it looked like more like a menu from L&L. They have a mini plates also, but for some reason I can’t figure out why they don’t have a Mini fried chicken plate. I don’t like to order a full plate during lunch so I can avoid polynesian paralysis. Wow, they even serve F’realz. I ordered a Fried Chicken plate. I chose mashed potatoes over rice, and i I had two choices of either corn, tomato salad, mac n cheese, garden salad… and I forgot the rest. Paid a total of $ 10.25…whew…pricey and that didn’t include a drink! Chicken is good and crispy, but that was the only thing palatable. I’d say almost like Popeyes. Mashed potatoes were cold, and corn was also cold plus mushy. Worth $ 10? Nah.
