It was my treat this afternoon, all my coworkers wanted pastrami… I always call ahead and ask them to start heating the meat so I don’t have to spend half an hour waiting for the whole sandwich making process … I still call them subs… family size… I lowered one star cuz I don’t like it when people are talking over my sub… isn’t that nasty, to have their spit speckling over my bread and meat… wish they would learn some hygiene manners… would make me feel much better…

Great location. Good sandwiches and salads. Staff are friendly. Unfortunately, the service is slow and inefficient. If the business underwent an efficiency analysis, I think their bottom line would go up.

I was the only customer in there but I had to stand there for almost 10mins and wait until the KIDS behind the counter stop PLAYING with each other first. I just want a sandwich, I didn’t come to watch you guys play«tag», grow up people.

We needed lunch delivered in Oakland for a volunteer event on the cheap and I called around to a ton of places. No one would deliver on a Saturday. I finally called this Togos in Alameda and talked to Kim, the manager, who was incredible helpful and said she could deliver for me. I ordered trays of sandwiches for 20 people, chips and cookies. Kim suggested putting the condiments and fixings on the side and that worked out perfect for this group. For the price the sandwiches were good, not soggy at all and seemed like they were made right before they arrived. I was able to fax in my order and pay over the phone and receive a receipt upon delivery. For an affordable lunch catering spot this is great. I know they don’t always deliver, you have to get the day approved first. Overall the whole experience was positive for me.

This place used to be really uneven, but lately, it’s been totally solid. I go there regularly with a friend for salads and conversation. The tables are always clean, the orders made quickly and without errors, and the food is tasty. What more do you want?(Well, I want the taco salad not to have a million calories, and a blue Z3, but that’s beside the point.) If you’ve been turned off in the past, give it another try. It’s good now. No mumbling guy by the door. And Starbucks close by!

This Togo’s is really unique; not good or bad, but just is. The staff embodies the working class, not the ultracool and hipster«Alameda» in the way that there is a huge diversity; high school, junior college, working folks, and nearly senior citizens. Friendly unless you cop an attitude. And the older lady manager is a bit crazy, but in a good entertaining way. The dining room is very basic, and there are some outside picnic tables, although outside is overrun with smokers and some homeless. Parking is tight at lunch time hours, but more is available by the drug store. The food quality is medium, on par for Togos, which is sometimes a bit lower that what you try to buy and make at home, but there is always a good variety and I have not had them run out of chicken or anything basic. They NEVER run ot of pepperoncini’s do they?

You know how Stanley from The Office eagerly awaits free pretzel day? Well the $ 3.99 Pastrami sandwich on Monday’s is my version of that. This place is randomly busy and sometimes the line can take longer than you’d like. Don’t forget to ask if you want your sandwich toasted because sometimes the staff forgets to remind you that that’s an option. Also, it can be kinda stuffy in here so if you dine in, prepare for that. There’s a frequent buyer card for COA students too! 10 hole punches and you get a free sandwich. I’d pick this Togo’s over any Subway anywhere, even if it’s not the best one!

Enjoy a sandwich the way you asked for it, you don’t have to worry about repeating your order. The staff here is warm friendly and very efficient. I love the daily specials, and their fresh breads. The manager is a very nice woman, and runs the establishment extremely well. Yes it can be busy at lunch — that could mean that a lot of people like the food, and also there are not many other great deli’s around the area. At least ones were you get a good value, large portions, and fresh ingredients, and no hair or a million people touching your food.

Not a good place to make a large corporate order. I put in an order 2 weeks ago for 30 Box Lunches with drinks and paid $ 10 delivery fee. Called to confirm the order the day before. Hence, that this place has delivered to our facility before(We’re 2min away from their location — On Main St.) 1) They arrived 20 minutes late 2) They forgot the drinks and had to come back 3) The drinks were warm. Won’t be using this place again, too bad for them they could have been my TOGO(lol) vendor — their loss!

Pretty crowded during lunch but people can call and fax in their order ahead of time! There is a $ 3.99 for the 6″ daily special

Yeah, this Togos is fully staffed by kids that look like they just got out of juvenile hall or something. They make the sandwich and its good, but the service is not so hot. They should probably clean up their act or something.

Always liked Togos and this is no exception. Always seem to get the hot pastrami. Easy strip mall parking.

DISGUSTING! i mean not that your expecting this place to be good,(its kinda like subway– its edible but you only go if there is absolutely no other option) but their taco wrap is just so gross i had to go get a coffee just to get the taste out of my mouth. It was filled with and enormous amount of crushed hard shell taco pieces and topped off with this nasty, liquid, low quality ketchup(it finally dawned on me that that was the«chili», however there was no meat whatsoever) If your going to this location(chances are you aren’t reading this because who really reads reviews for fast food chains?) do yourself a favor and for the same price, walk a few blocks and go to Specialtys.

They need to take the Togos franchise away from the owners of this one. I would love to go to Togos and it is very close to my house, but the service is absolutely horrendous. I think they must hire high schoolers who have to work to get out of their juvenile correction programs. Everyone who makes a sandwich looks dirty(by that I mean their clothes are never tucked in and a mess) and they make you feel like it is a chore to serve you. I have been to this place five or six times and my ex-girlfriend would yell at me everytime I would go into this place because the service is so bad. Even though I’d rather have a sandwich at Togos than Subway, I’ll drive over tho the Lucky’s shopping center because at least they don’t make you feel like a total fool for walking in the doors.

This place is the worst! My wife went here to grab a sandwich. There were three kids behind the counter. One on the phone talking to her friend about something other then work. The other was standing there looking like a deer in headlights and the other was outside smoking. My wife asked if someone could make her sandwich and the girl just standing there said that they were busy. No other customers in the building, and busy doing nothing. She waited a little while longer and still no hello, how can i help you, or customer acknowledgment. The counter looked unorganized, lettuce everywhere and no one willing to make and sell a sandwich. TOGO’s must be doing very well to not serve customers and pay wages for three employees who spend Sunday afternoons at work wasting away and not selling sandwiches. Good Job!

Aside from the gangsta dude out front with a barcode tattooed on his face, they made good sandwiches. I’d recommend taking a window seat to keep an eye on your car. The police were out taking a stolen vehicle report… maybe the barcode dude had something to do with it? Nah. The stuff was fresh, tasted like any other Togo’s I’ve been to, but they did raise their prices a bit since I was last here. Even if the sandwiches go up to $ 9.00, I’ll still choose Togo’s over Subway or Quizno’s anyday.

I used to love Togo’s when I was young… maybe because my sister used to take me there as a special«treat». I was definitely disappointed when I went back to Togo’s for the first time in years, but I also tried to get a sandwich more on the healthy side. I got the avocado and turkey sandwich on wheat bread — no mayo, no mustard(ick). So, really, it was an avocado, turkey and lettuce sandwich(there was supposed to be tomatoes too… but I only found two tiny slices). I guess $ 5 doesn’t get you that much anymore…

I used to come here often all the way from my work across the street from the Lake Merritt BART station, just because there was such a dearth of places to eat nearby. This was back 6+ years ago. Hopefully by now they’ve hired some new employees. I remember once it took them 25 minutes(no exaggeration) to make 3 sandwiches. And no one was in front of us in line.
