Not bad for a mall location near the movie theater. With a few offerings of sorbet and froyo, and a self serve area and toppings bar(fruits, nuts, candies, pop boba) before the weigh-in, it can be a fun location with a modern, hip vibe. I’ve had the original tart, strawberry, cookies and cream, and taro froyos. The flavors did not pop for me and I didn’t think it was spectacular, but I’d say the taro is the most unique. The froyos tend to the creamy side. The boba tea is usually on the sweeter end so I like to request it with half the sugar. I don’t mind the regular tapioca pearls(the chew is real!) but prefer the pop boba in various fruity flavors that burst with every bite. This place has iced fruit teas and a few other drinks for thirsty shoppers. You can add whatever drink mix-ins/toppings to your drink to make it differ. I’m not sure if they make their drinks with actual fruit or the infamous powder many Asian drink places take use of… but the taste of the drinks I’ve had did not have an overly chemical taste or clumps of powdery substance. Overall a neat and vibrant spot to grab a quick drink or sit down to relax a bit with froyo in hand in between shopping and something to try for thirsty shoppers.

The refreshments here are as bad as the name. I’ve been craving bubble tea since my last vacation. I’ve tried numerous places in the area(we don’t have many to begin with) and they all seem to be better than Yo D Sert. The price isn’t unreasonable for a good bubble tea, but to watch the employees take out a vat of cheap powder you can order online for barely more than a few of the teas and throw in a less than generous portion it was a rip off. The tea tasted like you’d expect. Cold water with some sandy powder, barely flavored. You could have told me the tea I got was a purple tinted creatine shake from GNC and I would have believed you. I didn’t try the frozen yogurt since that’s something that our area is full of, given how badly they messed up a simple drink mix I doubt they could do a dessert with any kind of success. Plus, half the machines were broken.

My friend got her favorite«mango pineapple smoothie» as usual. I tried their new product«Green Chia» with spinach and chia seeds during Thanksgiving, Love it, love chia seeds. Tastes soooooo good, not too sweet and very healthy.

I’m giving this place 4 stars based solely on the bubble tea as I can’t comment on the frozen yogurt portion of the shop. There simply isn’t another competitor in the area that comes close to making bb tea like they do in NYC. One of the girls at the register is also super sweet. My friends from NYC stopped in and were pleasantly surprised about the soft boba they make too. If boba isn’t your thing, there are plenty of other topping alternatives as well. I would give them 5 stars if they offered soy milk as a replacement in their milk teas like they do at Hanco’s in NYC.

I want more than anything for there to be an amazing bubble tea shop in Albany. Alas. I’ll settle for this place. The boba have a good texture but lack flavor you’d fine at a place like Kung Fu Tea. The milk tea flavors are good but they don’t have my second favorite(honeydew.) If I request a milk tea smoothie it has the weirdest texture, like fat that hasn’t fully dissolved in the drink. Gross. I’ll keep going back to satisfy my bubble tea cravings but I want so much moooooore. I haven’t tasted their froyo.

Great bubble tea! I’ve been there several times already just to try the original bubble tea.

Living in Albany, it’s difficult to find high quality bubble tea. I’ve tried the Asian supermarket on Central, the various restaurants across town, etc. But this is the first standalone place I’ve been to… AND it doubles as a delicious hub for frozen yogurt! They just opened so I haven’t tried many drinks on their menu, but the taro frozen yogurt is to die for. I also highly recommend the blueberry fruit tea and the classic black tea with bubbles. The frozen yogurt toppings range from chocolate, cookie dough, gummy bears, and fresh fruit to more special delicacies like«popping boba» filled with fruit juice, chocolates that look like rocks, and other delicious candies. They also recently added pudding as a replacement for bubbles, both of which are delicious. The staff is nice, responsive, and always ready to answer any questions people may have. The setting is clean and bright with colored lights with fun chairs to sit on while you enjoy your treats. This is one place I’ll definitely be frequenting.
