This was a fantastic experience came here on a date and our waitress Tess was amazing! The Mongolian beef was the best.

Holy calorie bomb Batman! Man this place is just full of calories and you will pay for it with your wallet and your gut. When the meal itself comes in at 1800 + calories without a beverage or appetizer you know you are in trouble. The drinks are good but not worth the $ 10.00 tag. Three of us went in each had a cocktail, meal and we split an appetizer and it cost $ 120.00 with tip. For this price they should at least clean and renovate their booths as they are defiantly showing their age. First time and last time there. Just not our type of place.

Elephant Bar, Albuquerque, NM — I have been here a handful of times since the place opened back in the mid 2000’s or so. I must say that when we first started going here, it started off far better than it has been lately. The only complaint I used to have is that it’s always such a crowded noisy restaurant, and that the menu was a little overwhelming because it had like 100 items on it. My husband and I just went here to use a Christmas giftcard last weekend, and it’s probably been a year since we were last here. It has SERIOUSLY changed! The menu shrunk down to about half, or really, less than half. Which is kind of incredible. They have added calories which is a good and a bad thing. Good so you know what you are eating, bad because almost every entrée is between 1200 — 2200 calories or so. The food has just sort of gone downhill too, and I miss the old menu greatly. This being said, we are kinda over this place now. It was really nice at first, then it slowly started becoming not that great, and now its just kinda bad and I would rather eat many other places. Elephant bar is just boring now. :/Oh and it’s still super loud and decently crowded.

I’ve heard such good things about Elephant Bar, but I just didn’t get it It was loud, the food was mediocre at best, and it was so busy the servers were clearly overwhelmed. I have no idea what food theme is offered here… it’s kind of an international failure. I won’t be back. There isn’t much for me to enjoy here. After two and a half hours of yelling at each other due to how loud the dining room is I gave up and left with a massive headache. Maybe I’m too old, since it’s too loud?

Loved the Happy hour for many years. All of the sudden the food and drink menu has changed without update by staff members(being a regular I thought that would be nice). On a positive note I’d like to thank you for your over pricing of my favorite drink(Margarita is not worth $ 9 when not using fresh ingredients). It has forced me to explore new places and way better happy hour specials. Sincerely, A ex tenured customer

Service was a little slow. Portions were large. Although I love knowing what my calorie intake is, this place has HIGH calorie content in a majority of their meals. For that reason I won’t return. One salad was 1600 cal! The staff was friendly. I ordered fish n chips, advertised for the beer battery, my co workers onion rings had more«fluffy» batter than my fish. The fish however was flakey but greasy.

i was part of a twosome that had lunch here on a Saturday. Service was outstanding. Menu gives calorie counts, and for lunch, it was really hard to find anything under 1,000 calories. I wound up ordering a kale salad. It is not my intention to look like an elephant or eat like an elephant. So, please help me out here, Elephant Bar. Give me some alternatives in the 600 – 800 calorie range.

So I went here with my mom and daughter. Looking at the kids menu, I ordered«Housemade Mac n Cheese». Our food comes out but no Mac n cheese. Our waiter says it was supposed to come out before our food and he’ll check on it. Meanwhile we ask for napkins because we were not given silverware, and he brings us cocktail napkins… We ordered burgers, so real napkins were a necessity. 10 minutes later still no Mac n cheese. I’m feeding my fussy daughter French fries hoping it’s coming soon. Upon being asked, our waiter informs us that the Mac n cheese was frozen and needs to be microwaved. And I’m thinking«umm I thought it was Housemade?» Anyways he brings it out and it’s scolding hot, like touching the bowl gave me third degree burns. Looking at it, it’s clearly just Kraft man n cheese. Yes which can be made at home, but not the same as Housemade. Gordon Ramsey is definitely needed here for an episode of Kitchen Nightmares.

Friendly staff but food wasn’t all that great. That being said, only tried 1 dish so far. Despite that, would still come back for another go

First visit to this place and I had a fantastic time! The table was ready in about 5 minutes even prime time on Saturday night. Had a very friendly and attentive waiter and I enjoyed my spicy shrimp(loads of) & chicken jambalaya and green tea cooler. Took home a chocolate lava cake home and it must’ve been awesome because hubby inhaled it in seconds I had a great night at Elephant Bar and would love to come back soon!

We eat there occassionally. The menu is moderately extensive and the food usually very good. It does usually take a while for your order to be prepared and arrive. The servers are friendly but often disappear for long periods. It is usually noisy when they are busy, but the side booths are quieter. This past Sunday my order of garlic lemon chicken was way overcooked, but the food is usually well prepared. My concern was that when I mentioned this to our waiter the only reaction was roughly«oh, sorry about that».

I came here last week for a weeknight dinner with a coworker. The atmosphere and service were nice. We were seated on the patio until it started drizzling and we moved indoors. The menu was quite extensive and there were a variety of selections. I had the orange chicken stir fry but found it a bit mediocre. The serving size was huge though. I was underwhelmed but would be willing to give this place another chance based on the menu selections.

Wow I was so disappointed with the food here at the elephant bar! I had been here several times and each time it seemed to be getting worse this last time was it’s third strike! First of all it was freezing cold inside. And I mean freeezing cold. I asked for a handicaped table and they sat us way in the back. It was a difficult walk for my friend. I was very hungry so I ordered a greentea spritzer with ginger. Wow it was as sweet as a soda. I also ordered the tortilla soup.(yum) but not very hot(temp wise) I also ordered the club sandwich with fries and a side of mac and cheese(I told you I was hungry). I had a craving for fries. Nice, hot, salty but not too salty and fresh. Wow total disappointment! Fries were neither fresh nor hot!(who likes room temperature fries???) Onward to the mac and cheese. Or should I say the colder than room temperature glob of bland unappealing starch. No more elephant bar in my future and I would never recommend it. If you want crappy food go to McDonald’s it’s just as bad but not as expensive. Sad, sad day…

Man… something changed. This place used to turn out massive food, very well prepared and at a good price. Now, a tiny drink, thin steak, cooked to hell and a crew that is grinding hard, but with very little support from management to back them up. Dan is an awesome waiter. Took care of us and went the extra mile. The guy deserves to have a management staff that refuses to skimp on quality and taste. Mega bummer for the price.

Mom picked today and we ended up at this chain restaurant that had loud music and boring food. Yes, the hostess was nice and promised to turn down the music just a little. Yep, our waiter was pleasant and helpful. Where it lost me was the food, which is an international mix of everything and excels at nothing. I chose the orange peel chicken with brown rice. Very sweet with a lot of sauce on it, the rice was underdone and the chicken pieces were much smaller than they appeared in the picture on the menu. There was, at least, a good portion of the stir fried veggies that were crisp and al dente. The music remained loud(«That’s how the management likes it.») and the fans in the bar cheering at the sports were annoying. But it’s probably exactly what it’s supposed to be — Elephant Bar here in ABQ is likely the same as Elephant Bar wherever ese they have outposts.

Great bar for drinks and to hang out. Appetizers are large. French onion sliders are so good! Great meal to order with a drink from the bar! Love the atmosphere Food has been very consistent.

One word: Disappointing. I really had high hopes for this place, I really believed I would be writing a review with more stars, NOPE not today. I’ve eaten at the Elephant Bar before and to me at least I’ve liked the experience I had. I use to consider this place«safe» as far as expectation, service and food quality. Our experience started out well enough but I should have known my wife and I were in for one of those interesting nights when the hostess is taking our drink and appetizer orders. Well the waitress finally arrived and from the conversation we had with her it was clear the right hand had no idea what the left hand was doing. That my friends should have been my first sign of trouble. Here’s the second– when your waitress comes to take your order and doesn’t write anything down, because she believes she can rely on memory alone, there is trouble afoot, especially after the detailed order my wife and I gave. Well after 10 minutes she comes back very apologetic because she couldn’t remember what we ordered. So politely we recant or order and this time she writes it done. All’s well right??? No. My order comes out WRONG! And this after she wrote it down after trying to memorize it in the beginning. I waited for her to come around before I touched my food so she could witness the error of her ways. Well I ordered the BBQ Ribs and BBQ Chicken plate with fried rice– don’t ask that’s how it was on the menu and I must say it wasn’t that great. I really hate to say that because they are usually very consistent. But wait! «There’s no fried rice on the plate in the picture», you ask? There in lies the problem. I asked for sweet potatoes on the side for my wife and I to share and somehow they ended up there instead of the rice. Oh the rice came after. All in all not the best showing for elephant bar for me and I left disappointed.

The elephant bar is a pretty nice and fun bistro-style chain restaurant. I normally prefer mom and pop places rather than chains, but in this case, things worked out well. My friend and I arrived about 8:30 on a Friday night, and the place was packed! By the time we were seated at the bar and had a look at the menu, it was getting close to nine. Happy hour was to start at nine, so I had our server put the orders in right at that time so they would come out at the discount price. I ordered the 23 oz Guinness draft for $ 7.50, and my friend had a lemonade. We ordered a couple of openers(appetizers) which were a very good value at three dollars off the listed price! My entrée was the Thai Barbeque Salmon Salad for $ 13.95, which several local Unilocalers had commented on. The dish was tasty and surprisingly filling, with an ample amount of salmon and a delightful dressing. I would order this again. My friend ordered the Chinese Five-spice Shrimp and Chicken. This looked OK, but I would not order this for $ 14.25. He seemed satisfied, however, so who am I to complain? The best part of the Elephant Bar, other than the ambiance, is the happy hour. The starters are great and a geat value. And the draft beers are a good value at that hour also!

Could I have more randomly picked a better place??? Well possibly, but I digress talking about my greatness. The outside structure is a bit out of the ordinary for the area, but I’m not ordinary gal, so #melikesit. The inside décor & design are comfortable, alluring, modern, sophisticated, classy & chic all at the same time. I was very fond of this place prior to entry, then upon stepping inside, I was simply enamored. The food & drink selections are almost overwhelming as the choices are so vast one must promise yourself to return to take part in more of the delightful dishes. I ordered the BBQ Thai salmon salad, the warm spinach artichoke dip(that was free because I registered for the loyalty club) & Kona Kooler, non-alcoholic red & juice drink. I just can’t speak highly enough of the dining experience from start to finish, the décor, the timeliness of the food, the appearance of the server etc I plan to return & not just be aide the loyalty program rewards you for return visit, but because this place is phenomenal!!!
