Checked out Gyros Mediterranean for lunch and what a treat! The line was out the door so I knew I was getting into something good. It’s a fast casual restaurant, order at the counter take your number and find a seat. Service was a little less friendly than I’m use to in Albuquerque. The counter staff was taking phone orders in between the line so that slowed things down. The staff didn’t make much eye contact and didn’t confirm our order which was a bit of a complication later. Over all the food was great! I might try to call in an order for pick up rather that go to the counter again. The meat was delicious and had that tang that tickles your tongue! Generous portions make the value excellent. We ordered double meat that was forgotten and hard to get. We also ordered Baklava that was forgotten and we had to go back for. All in all service took away from a 5 star review, but won’t keep me away.

Absolutely the best gyro in town. Very fast and efficient staff. Salads and the chips are also great. Highly recommend and very inexpensive

Pretty good(nothing phenomenal), but I would definitely go back again. I just had a gyro combo. I wasn’t crazy about their take on greek potatoes… just different than what I have had before.

This place is cool. I have fond memories of eating here. The kabob meat used to get dry as they kept them warm, so they started grilling them to order, which increased wait times, but guaranteed a good, juicy kebab. Their patates are really yummy. Good times!

I’ve known this place for years. As a student it was a favorite place to grab a bite to eat. Over the years the food had remained the same tasty food. Service has been good.

The gyros here are delicious, and I think you get a good amount of food for the price paid. Love coming here for lunch and take-out!

My work orders take out from Gyro’s at least twice a month if not more! Once in a while they don’t answer their phone to take a to go order… That’s because they are SOOOO Freakin’ BUSY!!! And for good reason! Their food ROCKS! I’ve never had a bad meal there… not even ONCE! Also if you are sick, try the Avgolemono Soup! Perfect for the cold you feel coming on. I know us New Mexicans go for the Green Chile stew sometimes to starve a cold… But try their Avgolemono Soup!

One of my favorites for Mediterranean food in the city. I’ve gone several times and always find myself drawn to those gyros combos. The desserts are all delicious and honestly I’ve never found a dish I haven’t enjoyed there. I’m a big fan of their dolmas, there’s just something to them that keeps me wanting more.

3 stars for food(it’s good but not drunk-in-Europe-good) that makes for a great late dinner after a few drinks. 5 stars for the patience of the girl at the counter when two drunk people walk in five minutes before closing.

I honestly do not know why I have not come here before. I’m often in the area either at Frontier or saggios. Today I decided to check it out after I got a pretty good coupon from the daily Lobo. I was pleasantly surprised to find that the interior was really nice and is actually quite a good use of space without feeling cramped. The menu is prominently displayed on the wall across from the register which offers a good vantage point for those standing in line. The food I got was very delicious. The salad, fries, and gyro were pretty tasty. My gyro had a great amount of tzatziki and the dressing they gave me for the salad is yummy. I didn’t like how the tomato was just one large chunk, but I enjoyed my meal. The only real bummer about my experience was the attitude I got from the cashier. From the moment we locked eyes, she seemed to have a negative impression of me. Honestly, I think it’s because my hair is pink. Despite her crummy attitude, the woman who brought me my food was very pleasant and happily answered my questions about the dressing. I will probably return.

When It comes to Greek food I am very picky, I am from Buffalo, NY and we have a large greek population and restaurants. 1st on my list greek potatoes they werent bad however i wish they weren’t so stingy with the amount given in a serving. The chicken was ok however I wish they put more seasoning. It was pretty good over all and my husband enjoyed it. Over all more seasoning little bit more food.

Disgusted with how rude the cashier was. My mom and I politely ordered our gyros and asked to add a little cabbage to them, she literally looked at us as if we were crazy and acted like it was such an inconvenience to add some freaking cabbage. Seemed as if she didn’t even want us there ordering our food. Then we ordered a water and diet coke, she gives us two waters… were like uhh we asked for a diet coke, she then tells us we confused her? By ordering a soda I guess? We asked for a side of extra sauce, again acted as if she was appalled by our question and finally said yes. OTHERTHANTHAT, food came quick and it was pretty tasty, but definitely not the best gyro I’ve had. Atmosphere was meh. Definitely won’t come back after dealing with that weirdo.

This is my go-to for inexpensive Mediterranean food. The saganaki, dolmas, patates, hummus, gyros and salad are all solid choices. When you order a gyro combo you can get either dolmas of patates, along with Greek salad, and choosing between dolmas or patates is always the most difficult choice I make. My suggestion: Avoid the internal struggle and get both. I noticed that one of the other reviews said that the quality at Olympia was better, and while I enjoy Olympia’s food, I do like the variety available here. Not to mention, the Greek salad at Gyros is superior.

Some of the tastiest Gyros in town. Really though I’m not a Gyro aficionado but I’ve had my share. This is the best in town per price and casualty. The Gyro comes with a large side Greek style salad and these delicious hand cut potato chip type thingy majigs. A decent selection of other food items but I solely stick to the gyros, it’s in the name for Pete sake. The place is small but not loud The window seats are the popular seat for most but the back is quite with less traffic. I’ve been here several times when I get that gyro craving. I will continue to go back until the quality changes. Only downfall is sometimes there is a little neglect on draining of grease/juice from the gyro itself. I always just give a little drip before I dive in!

Have been eating here since I first moved to Albuquerque 10 years ago. They have some of the best Mediterranean food in Albuquerque. What sets them apart from the other places is that they offer combos of their top items which come with chips and a salad. The staff here offers excellent customer service and are always friendly. I have tried a lot of things off of their menu and my favorites are the gyros combo and the spicy chicken breast combo. Very tasty food at a very affordable price. I will definitely continue to frequent this yummy location. Keep it up Gyros, you rock!

A UNM neighborhood staple. During the weekdays Gyros is packed with students and UNM staff. Everything is freshly made and the potions are very large. I recommend their chicken or hummas sandwiches.

I’ve always had good experiences here. The prices are affordable(hello university area) and the food is always tasty. Being the university area, this place caters to the«I don’t want to eat at the Sub» crowd and does a good job of it. Nothing you get here will be the best in town. Other places make better gyros(I don’t know how, the turning meat spit looks the same everywhere), better dolmas(I could just be biased here since I’m pretty sure everyone gets these from a large can), better pitas, better falafels, etc. But those places aren’t open as late or as long as Gyros, nor are they as close to UNM if that’s a concern. This is an «order at the counter, take a number, sit down» kind of place. The large, well-lit room has a slightly modern feel to it, probably due to the acid-washed concrete floor.

Good Greek fare is worth it’s weight in gold, and this place has it all. Dolmas, gyros(imagine that), patates(amazing!!!), falafel, tzatziki(super tasty), salads, and more. There are some heavier Greek options fairly close by, but if you’re looking for something quick and delicious, Gyros is the spot. It balances out the heavy Greek foods out with the healthier Mediterranean options perfectly. I’m a huge fan of the gyros and patates here. It’s my standby, and I usually don’t deviate. The Greek salad is awesome(and you have your own bottle of dressing, so make yourself happy) as well. It’s the perfect place to meet some friends to eat something fabulous before strolling the university scene, or even just somewhere to eat alone. Service is pretty quick even when they’re busy, and you really can’t ask for more in this area.

Today I went out to lunch with 5 colleagues and we all piled into Gyros. The lady at the counter was pretty annoyed with us because we lined up the wrong way, but after we overcame that hurdle, everything was great. I had the falafal combo — four falafals with a salad and some potato chips. Everything was really good and tasted exactly as it should. The potato chips are made there and some are thicker, some are crispier, some are thin and soggy — and this makes me happy. I feel like I’m eating real food. I really don’t like potato chips out of a bag. The salad was a nice combonation of lettuce, red onion, olives, tomato, and some other stuff, with the house vinagrette, which I found in a bottle on my table. The rest of the folks had a bit of everything. The spicy chicken, the gyro, a couple of great deserts including the custard which had this lovely lightness and hint of lemon. I hate custard but I loved this. Oh, and the garlic/potato appetizer was wonderful. I will go here again and again. Count on it.
