This place has worst service. We waited a hour for a pizza that was supposed to take 15 minutes and received a insincere apology.

Very interesting vibe with completely covered walls of murals and framed pictures. Got the sausage pizza that was a little too greasy, but it didn’t need anything more than a quick dab of some napkins. The wait seemed a little long but I think that is just because all of the other places I’ve been to in New Mexico have crazy fast service. It seemed like a common place that the UNM students stop in to as its right across the street from campus. Good food and crazy decorating!

Good stuff! Ordered the stromboli and it was delicious! Need to come back and try the pizza when I come visit again. Service was kinda meh. They forgot to include the salad i ordered on the side. Everything else is good. Ample seating inside.

Believe it or not, for the longest time that I’ve lived here, this was my first time eating here. This place has a nice vibe & atmosphere to it. The music that accompanies the environment, not so much… I don’t even know what to comprehend it as. With that being said, they have plentiful of menu items to choose from — from pizza/calzones to pastas & salads. Upon my 1st visitation here, I got the Go Greek! salad. When I approached the counter to pick up my order, I was in disbelief at how much salad I got in the order. If you know me, I’m a skinny female… so, that plate of salad was probably more than enough of the amount it would take to fulfill my stomach. I’m not complaining about a thing here, the salad was great. Although I had to take a to-go on it, having it as leftovers is just as great!

My wife and I went this past weekend! We had a 2 garden salads, 2 slices, and 2 drinks. It was great food, the portions were huge, and all for less then 20 dollars. Great place to stop and get some lunch !

Just got the«Blue Clams». What a rip-off! Eight claims, half didn’t open. The so called broth was pure water. The sausage were virtually microscopic. The pasta was bland. Don’t eat there unless your out of gas. Prices overall are way high relative to quality/value.

Love this place. It’s one of few pizza restaurants that cater to my lactose sensitivity. You wouldn’t believe how difficult it is having to order a whole pie just because you want it without cheese. Well Saggios believes everyone deserves a slice. :). I ordered a giant slice of cheeseless Hawaiian pizza with jalapeño. It’s was so good, I love their crust. This is such a great place to enjoy some pie with your friends in a very interesting environment.

Rustic pizza on chili dough… amazing! Slices are huge, salads are made for 2. Great price! A must if you’re in the UNM area!

Great pace to grab a pizza, calzone, and cannoli. They also serve a lot of pasta dishes and salads, but I’ve haven’t tried any of them yet. But they look fresh and delicious. Ordering is always easy and the staff has always been friendly. They have two rooms to sit in. The first room has a wall moral that is awesome and fun to look at. The second room has a lot of TV’s perfect for sports lover. If your looking for a quieter room choose the one with the TV’s the fountain and the other room can be pretty noisy. Most things are made to order, so your wait time will vary depending on busy they are. We often call ahead and pick up our order to go.

Over the years I have been to Saggios, but this last time was not a great experience. It took about 10 minutes to order(two other people in line), then about 25 minutes for our pizzas. We didn’t order anything special, just straight off the menu with no changes. Several people came in after us and got their food much quicker.(They ordered pizzas too.) We checked twice before we got our order. The pizzas were good once we got them. Reheated well the next day! One comment is that the place is noisy! It was less than half full and the three people sitting at our table had to yell to hear each other. I would recommend call ahead and carry out.

Really good food. The Nirvana Asian salad is great. Pizza is excellent. Nice fluffy crust with tasty sauce. Lasagna was good but not great. We will definitely be back.

I’m just not that into Saggios… to me there are so many better, cheaper options around. Sorry Saggios, it’s not me, it’s you. The food is kinda greasy and average… I prefer il Vicino or slice parlor if I’m wanting pizza in the area. It’s also super loud and weirdly broken up. It’s a disjointed experience. Lots of people come here to watch games though… so if loud atmospheres are your thing, maybe this is the place for you. The servings are huge… just FYI.

In college at UNM many moons ago I remember loving the slices and obsessing over the basil cream and tomato pasta. Well 20 years later and I came into town with my daughter and after hitting my favorite spots, Saggios popped into my head. Even after all this time that sauce and pasta was still the same amazing stuff I loved from the 90’s!!! Love the cheese pizza with some ranch and definitely get the linguine with basil cream AND tomatoes. It comes with a chewy piece of ciabatta. Oh and the pasta is even better the next day. Add a little crushed red pepper and mmmm mmmm mmmm.

After a long hiatus from Saggios, my wife and I wonder why we were gone so long. With the abundance of great pizza joints around Albuquerque, finding one to be loyal to is hard to do. Sorry Saggios, please don’t hate me. Funny thing is «I’ve never tried the pizza» at Saggios, although I’ve heard it’s pretty good. I go to Saggios for the calzones! The four meat(pepperoni, Italian sausage, ham and bacon I believe) to be more precise. I’ve only eaten calzones at a couple places but Saggios has the best hands down! I got my calzone with a green chile crust, which was new to me because the last time I was there they didn’t have it, it was a nice surprise! Green chile on anything makes everything better. Just be forewarned, it’s spicy! Here’s my negative– please understand the calzone deserve 5 stars for taste but it is GREASY! Man oh man, eating one I can just feel my arteries clogging and that ain’t good. Seeing the orangey/yellow grease build up is not very slightly, I’m just saying. Every time I see that grease I can’t help but think of the chaos that’s about to befall my body. Sadly I’m not sure if there is any way around it. I’m going back and forth between 3 or 4 stars but I’m going to lean on the side of taste and the calzone is very good in my opinion. Plus they are big enough to feed two people! Just know this, you’ll be in the gym for about a day and a half to work out the calzone you just ate. Enjoy!

Went to Saggios for ‘old times’. Used to go to Saggios at least once a week while I was attending UNM. Pizza is even better than I remember it, and they have a great selection of local beers. I love the atmosphere, as it is very ‘random’. They could use an upgrade on their TVs, but I do enjoy the abundance of them. I really like Saggios!

I’d been there several times before, but I will never forget the day I ordered my first calzone from Saggios. When I went to the counter to pick up the plate I immediately went into minor shock: I was absolutely not worthy. And sure enough as I stuck my knife into the belly of that beast and the steam wafted past my nostrils, as I gazed into the carcass that was stretchy cheese, tomato sauce and probably six different meats, I thought Now How in the Hell am I Going to Eat All of This? It was an entire pizza, folded over and baked, for just One Guy. I felt like more than a glutton. I felt like a thief. Here I’d ordered just one meal and they’d given me four. I dug in and, sure enough, managed to down one quarter of the bastard. This is a memory from, oh, probably 1997. The footage still rolls in my cortex. Shortly thereafter the restaurant received a major remodel, which is still worth a visit today: a fountain, portraits of famous Italians, every inch of the place has character. But the food never changed. While I recently noted that they serve a smaller version of the classic calzone, the original beast is still on the menu. Nowdays I stick with the salads, which are tremendous in their own right but still, um, humane. I think the pizza’s quite good, nothing to write home about but in the upper echelon of ABQ choices. Pastas, panini and focaccia rarely catch my interest because the specials above the register are always innovative, definitely consider them. And then there’s the cannoli. It’ll shut ya up. Big lovers of futbol, the Lobos, and UNMs ever-changing student populace, Saggios is one of those classic University restaurants that everybody recognizes as an old friend, a place to grab a booth, open a book, feed the family or flirt on a first date. Well, maybe a second date. So go ahead, even if you aren’t a cash strapped student, save yourself some coin and just split a calzone. You’ll find the other half in the fridge tomorrow.
