Trying too hard. Okay we get it, your bar is on the second story in Albuquerque big deal. It’s like naming your coffee shop«the coffee shop». Not my scene and the name is wack.

I’m not really sure how to review this. In all honesty it’s for the club goers who are into rap music and rap music only. And no, that’s not a bad thing at all. It’s just not MY M.O. that’s all. I did enjoy meeting people though. There were all sorts of characters there, and they entertained me thoroughly. Maybe two stars is too harsh, I was in a pretty good mood that night. Just go if you feel like mingling and dancing. The pool tables were not used once I don’t think. Wobble baby, wobble baby! Haha I love that song.

Well, I came to visit here last year during a visit to NM. Here’s my Opinion: AMBIANCE: let me start by saying that the ambiance(in the front part of the club) was beautiful. good lighting, and a pretty decent view had me sold. The negative of this is that the back of the lounge/club/bar(Whatever) looks too much like a pool hall, and the lighting was a little too bright. It took away from the theme of the lounge. CROWD: It was pretty diverse. Young, old, a few extras of «blood in, blood out», college students, and then there were some people stuck in a time capsule with their poofy bangs, and weird clothes. but hey, they came to have a good time and that’s all that counts. Friendly people were everywhere DRINKS: — Decently priced and pretty strong. Im used to going to lounges in NYC where ONE drink is $ 15. Here I actually bought a round of drinks for a few people for $ 18. MUSIC: — Really? what DECADE are these DJs from, and do they not know that slacker and I heart radio are available as a reference tool for good music. The DJs musical taste was all over the damn place. Hip hop, line dance music, R&B(really b, at a club?). I think each room should have a MUSICTHEME that allows people to go from room to room. Who still plays Zap & Roger? Sadly, there was No Jay-Z, No Nas, no Rick Ross, hell I’d even take Ke$sha at that point :/Again who plays slow jams at a club??? This is NOT a damn prom. It was a difficult pill to swalling being that Im from Brooklyn, and good music is my life. GETWITHTHEPROGRAM Overall: It was definitely interesting to see what nightlife is like in other parts of the US. Although this was not my idea of «Exciting» it definitely was«interesting, and comical». I think I will be back.

This place is very interesting. Well appointed and clean, this two dance floor venue/pool hall has it all right. Loud music but not ear crushing, leather seating, a view of the city, and well equipped bar. There are plenty of pool tables for $ 8/hr that are kept in good shape and clean. The crowd started in on Saturday night about 10pm. Mostly a 30 and under group, there was alot of diversity — and lots of tattoos. Lots of that. Apparently, there was a stabbing here a few weeks ago, but that’s not confirmed. Security was visible as was lots of police presence outside(for multiple establishments). Girls has lots of ‘stuff’ hanging out and or tight clothing. There is also an outdoor area for those who want to smoke.

Very nice place, many pool tables, and large bar section, wish they had a porter beer. Prices are moderate, very nice lounge sofas.

A large group of us were visiting Albuquerque and we came for the wing challenge Love the staff. They were friendly and even though they were laughing AT us, it felt like they were laughing with us. I think this would be a nice place to hang out for a night. They have a big room filled with billard tables that appear to be in great condition. The front lounge area has a bar and a dance floor in addition to tables and seating.

I go here a few times a month for lunch and industry events. Great food, but get there before 8 pm; out turns into another crappy downtown hip hop club. Lunch is good and the place is usually empty. The only great night server was canned recently, so if you’re looking for service you may want to move on. It’s a little pricy, too.

I don’t know if I would call this upscale coming from Indianapolis which has a few high end clubs. I would say that it is decent and I would go back again. It is pretty large with some good music going on. It closes down at 1:30AM. I know places out west close at 2, but 1:30??? Come on!

Nice Upscale lounge. Great DJ and live music on Th night with some salsa in the evening. The Steak salad is really good as is the Vanilla Mojito!!! The open air patio reminds me of San Diego.

I really enjoy this place. Excellent billiards tables, top of the line food. Sometimes the service could be faster. Great service if you get Colleen, but from there on out, it’s a crap shoot.

I was in Albuquerque for a conference a couple weeks ago, and I took a group here for drinks and tapas after we were done for the day. We got there pretty early(~7pm), and I think that was a really good thing because late it got overly crowded and I didn’t much like it. Earlier in the evening though, it was great. The menu is quite good, I think we tried almost every tapas item they had and loved them all. The drinks were good too, I recommend the Cadillac Margarita. The pool tables were $ 8/hour I think, but in great shape and the pool area is much less crowded once the place starts to fill up on the other side. Great for taking out a group.

Good pool tables in a nice atmosphere, great tapa-style foods and experienced bartenders that know how to mix ‘em. Plus, on the weekends you can watch the local wildlife parade in and out from the dance floor. Great place for ‘adults’ to enjoy a night out on the town.

The last few times ive been to One Up ive been extremely disappointed. There wasn’t enough wait staff and every time I was waiting at least 45 minutes to get our drink order. For a higher end bar, this is ridiculous especially for $ 10 a martini. The drinks have also gone downhill and are definitely not worth the money. Too bad this is the only place with nice pool tables but that’s not enough for me to go back… too many experiences with horrible service. Go somewhere else– you won’t be missing much.

How far can this place fall? The last four visits since my first review have gotten progressively worse. From being out of cucumbers for their signature drink, being out of spirits to lastly finding a nice long hair in my cocktail! I plan on avoiding this place at all costs. What a waste of time and money!

This is a very social environment! The seating and table arrangement is not squeezing groups together unintenionally. They’ve held events like last year’s Presidential debates. I don’t trust their cocktails anymore. Worst Jack & Coke, ever. Great selection of Pale Ale with competitive pricing. TV handlers could do better, though. Lots of space for shooting pool. Check it out!

This place is HUGE! Lots of pool tables in the back and plenty of comfy seating to «chillax» with a drink.

Kind of a bizarre place! If you are looking for a pool hall offering food while listening to your favorite easy listening music, you might want to check this place out! Located in downtown ABQ next to the Knockouts strip club and across from, The Library Pub, One Up! offers a more«G» rated form of entertainment. To enter this bar /pool hall /restaurant, you go up a kind of dark, scary set of stairs. Once you get upstairs, you can’t help but feel relieved by how much nicer it is that you are out of the staircase. The lunch menu is limited with some sandwiches and salads. In the evening, they have a lot of typical pub snacks such as Quesadillas and Calamari. The portions are larger than your typical appetizer but far fromm a meal. There is no actual dinner menu. The place really can really hold a lot of people, is very nicely designed, and has about 10 pool tables in the back. The pool rates are very fair. The music was very low key, kind of made me sleepy. Overall, an OK place, nothing special.
