For Earth Day, my best friend and I went to the street fair on Silver. As we walked by Schushop, I saw some really cute socks with fun prints and we decided to go in. The lady behind the counter was friendly enough but followed my friend like a hawk as I looked at the socks. I didn’t really think anything of it. I picked 3 pairs of the fun socks, they were selling buy 2 get one free. I went up to the counter with my socks and said«these are buy 2 get 1 free, right?». The lady at the counter said«ummmm, I need to check that.» Super weird affect and very rude tone but we were ok with waiting. She checked, came back to the register. Another woman walked in the store and she immediately left the counter to help the other woman, even though I was totally ready to check out, card in hand, and we were there first… We waited for a good 5 minutes feeling totally disrespected and my friend asked politely if she could check us out. The woman responded, «I don’t know how to work the register.» She certainly worked it for the other customers. I’ve never in my life felt so discriminated against. It was so blatant and embarrassing. My friend and I both have tattoos, are in our late 20’s. I don’t know why she was treating us the way she did, but it left both of us very upset. If you’re a woman in your mid 30’s and up, I’m sure this business would be happy to serve you, otherwise, get your goofy socks elsewhere.

The Schusop is a must stop for me whenever I find myself in Albuquerque. Michelle, the owner, is a delight and she has curated a great selection of shoes, scarfs and bags. Her prices are reasonable, the service is terrific and I love everything I have purchased at the Schusop. Stop in and enjoy!

I bought a pair of peek a boo pumps and I love them. They are the most comfortable pair of pumps that I own. I will be stopping by more often!

This is my current obsession. Every time I go to ABQ I make a point to drop by and see what sales they have, or if they have anything I absolutely cannot live without. Always a friendly person working, and their selection of girly accessories is incredible. A lot of their goods are made in Italy, and are GREAT quality. They are not outrageously priced, which is nice for a frugal, single Mama like myself ;) I can’t wait til my next shopping trip!

Great locally-owned place for finding stylish shoes, but what I like most about this shop is the huge assortment of colorful, printed thin cotton scarves(last time I was there I saw over 20 prints!). This is a great place to shop for gifts– leather accessories, gloves, bright fun socks, knit hats. Staff are super friendly.

I LOVE this shop! The owner is lovely, and she offers such a great selection. She definitely carries more higher priced shoes, but you’re paying for comfort and quality. She also carries some great sock and hosiery options — don’t pass on the wool thigh highs from Italy. Reasonably priced, and the best pair I’ve ever purchased. I highly recommend checking this place out before you hit one of the big corporate shoe stores.
