The food was good but the service was not that great. It was pretty pricy for only two people.

If it wasn’t for the waitress, I would give this place and food 1 star. The waitress was very kind, however the food was not good at all. I ordered the jambalaya fettuccine. It is supposed to be Cajun, but it was not spicy at all, it tasted like tomato sauce and noodles. The pasta was overcooked and slimy. The sausage soup was mediocre. My husband ordered the ultimate bertucci pizza, which he likes. If you are a pasta lover, please walk past this place! Service is extremely slow for a place that is not busy. I will not come here again.

Oof, not good. I ended up here mostly because I couldn’t handle all the choices on King Street. See, I started a new job in Old Town down at the waterfront, so every morning and night, I pass by the plethora of restaurants down the main strip, and with the twinkling lights in the trees and the quaintness and the historic charm of it all, I totally lose focus — everything just seems so damn cute! Anywho, I had a late flight to catch, so that meant I had about 2 hours to kill after work, and grab some grub. I decided to set out sans a plan or consulting Unilocal, and just walk until the spirit moved me to stop somewhere. The novelty of my new small town surroundings really left me with some cognitive bias; «surely all these restaurants are delicious, because there are lights in the trees,» I told myself. But… that was really not the case, since Bertucci’s kind of sucked. I walked in and sat at the small bar, and was helped quickly by the bartender, given a menu and a glass of water right away. I was disappointed in the menu. I stopped my walk and came in to Bertucci’s because I saw Italian and in that moment, I thought pizza sounded like a good idea. But, they didn’t have pizza by the slice, so that was a no-go. However, I love me some pasta, so I flipped through the menu, but was disappointed to see a lack of the classic«Italian» pasta dishes. I was quickly realizing Bertucci’s was not so much Italian food as it is American cuisine with a slight Italian inspiration. Womp Womp. I ended up ordering off the starters menu, getting the antipasto dish, which had mozzerella, tomatoes, eggplant, roasted peppers, artichoke, focaccia bread, and then ham and salami maybe? I don’t recall, I asked for the plate minus the meat. When my dish was presented to me, I was disappointed that the roasted peppers were only green peppers. A combo of red, yellow and green would have been nice. Then I took a bite of mozzarella and tomato, and it was not good. The cheese was not a good quality at all, with a rough texture and it and tasted like it came from a package from Giant. The eggplant was freezing cold — not cool or room temp, but like they had just left it outside for a while. It was tough yet chewy and very poorly done. I ate as much as it took me to get full enough, but I didn’t enjoy it one bite. And truth be told, I am pretty easy to please and I don’t consider myself to be very picky, so it was pretty sure fail. I think the plate was something like 12 bucks, so at least it didn’t break the bank, but it was bad enough for me to say that I wouldn’t even give this place a second chance. Upside was that service was pretty friendly and quick, and the manager even came around to check on guests, but food gets a thumbs down.

I would give Bertucci’s a 3.5 out of 5 if I could! Overall, my husband and myself had a great time. Our only issue was with our waitress refilling drinks. She was ok when it was just us and another table, however, when it became busier she neglected most of her tables. When I was finally able to grab her attention for a refill I actually let her know the lady a few tables down was in need of a refill as well. I’m normally not a stickler for refills but we went over ten minutes waiting on refills while eating our entrees. Food ratings. Bread rolls with dipping oil: 5⁄5 Tastes eerily similar to Carrabba’s dipping oil so if you like that you will love theirs! Spinach and Artichoke Dip: 5⁄5 Hands down THE best artichoke dip we have had the pleasure of eating. You can hardly tell if artichoke is in there simply because of their size. We don’t like big clumps of artichoke so it was great for us. Caesar Salad: 5⁄5 Lettuce was super fresh and crunchy, the cheese was fantastic, and the dressing is now one of my favorites. Only downside, I asked for extra cheese on my salad and was charged $ 3 for probably two extra pinches of cheese. Definitely not worth $ 3. Fettuccine Alfredo 3⁄5: I decided to try their Alfredo because it was made with Pecorino Romano. I regularly use that cheese at home so I thought it would be a great match. Wrong! My Caesar salad had WAY more flavor than the Alfredo I received. I could not taste the Pecorino Romano at all. It is very salty so it is hard to miss. Wish I would’ve paid an extra $ 3 for pecorino. Calzone 3.5÷5: My husband had a calzone with pepperoni, roasted garlic, and carmelized onions. He loved all of the ingredients except for the garlic. The calzone contained many whole gloves of garlic within. We both really love garlic, however, garlic is strong and whole cloves it not our thing.

Soooo disappointed! Not representative of the Bertucci’s everywhere. Arrived at 4pm and it is very very slow. The young waitress was eager and attentive. Unfortunately I ordered a Cosmo and had to send it back once to have them rim the glass as they normally do. She came back with the same drink and an excuse that he bartender isn’t their best. I asked her to ask to get it corrected. She came back with it right and some reason from the bartender. That was minima. The bathrooms were filthy!!! During a slow hour! The bistro strip steak was ordered medium rare and came out EXTREMELY rare! The Caesar salad was DRENCHED in dressing. The chicken piccata was overly lemony. Not recommended. Pass this one up!

Excellent food. Very nice restaurant. Merina was our waitress and bartender; very sweet girl. The food was to die for, bread was warm and amazing. It is pricey a little but the quality exceeds the price. Salad dressing was similar to Olive Garden dressing which was amazing to me. We will definitely be back.

Wouldn’t recommend the fettuccine, if you like a cheese base chicken or shrimp pasta its not for you… Its just not good, i took a few bites and threw it away.

Food is great and the service was excellent! Had the margarita pizza and the sauce was delicious and the toppings fresh. The service was awesome because we ordered something on accident and our waitress, joenae, fixed it without hesitation And just treated us like family! Would recommend!!!

Food was amazing. I highly recommend the Margherita pizza. Waitress was very attentive and helpful. White Sangrias to die for. Restaurant clean and cozy. Jonae was our waitress and so understanding for our vegetarian diet. Great waitress!

Smells Amazing … Tastes even better! Salads are generous and tasty, rolls are super fresh and a great combination with the oil dip. Pizzas are not small at all! Way more than I can eat. Definatly getting your money’s worth! Wish we had this place back in Iowa.

I came here once, when I was eight, and then came back about nine years later. All I really remember from my first visit was that the bread rolls were good. How relevant that is… eh, I don’t know. Those bread rolls were good delicious both times, though. To actually be serious, though; Bertucci’s is a pretty standard-place, perhaps a bit nicer than some other Italian chains, not outstanding but not disappointing, either. The interior is nice enough, clean and pleasant without any sort of wow factor, the ambiance casual and relaxed. As noted, yes, it’s a chain, and it’s about average chain quality. So, in short, I wouldn’t recommend it if you’re visiting the area and want to make the most of your trip, restaurant-wise… but otherwise it’s as good as place as any for standard fare appropriate to the price it costs.

I was very pleased with their service. Quick, friendly, and patient as I ask a bunch of confusing question(I’m new to this type of traveling). Husband loved the pasta. Crab cakes are to die for. I got an awesome steak meal showing that they can cater to a variety of meal requests. Even the salad was amazing. Definitely got to try it!

In short: food was amazing, service was extremely disorganized. We had the lasagna, baked tortilini, kids pizzas, and garlic knots. All were excellent and exactly what we were hoping for… I would go back. As for the service: we were seated by an extremely friendly woman, then ended up having 4 different people serving us. I ordered a beer and ended up with 2 because two people filled the order(not complaining). Took a long time to get service when needed… I didn’t get my salad that came with the lasagna, but by the time I noticed, I couldn’t eat a salad if I wanted to. Atmosphere: very loud and casual. Kid friendly without being kiddie. I would return and hope for better service… I really enjoyed the food!

Service — can’t blame the waitress if all servers walk by and ignore customers. She set the table with napkins then disappeared. I had to stop her on her way by to get water. Food– crab cake burnt and tasteless. My fettuccine noodles were like rubber glued together. Same for the rigatoni

My husband and I came up to Alexandria for just a night to explore around. It was our first time here. We debated trying out several restaurants on King street and ended up going with this place because it had the shortest wait. I’m really disappointed by the food and especially the service and now I see why the wait was so short on a bustling Friday night. To start, the restaurant offers free bread rolls. But when none came for us, we asked our waitress for some. She came back with a basket of rolls so hot we literally could not even touch them. My husband ordered a beer on tap. It came flat, tasting like«it had been sitting out for 45 minutes». The Caesar salad was great and my husband’s chicken parm was great. My shrimp scampi was kind of lacking in flavor but otherwise decent. I’d give a 3.5÷5 for the overall food. But the service is where I drop my review down to a 2. Before we were even done eating, the waitress dropped off the check at our table. Didn’t offer to offer us dessert, see if we needed boxes, etc. We were literally still working on our entrees. It was 8 pm, we are pretty fast eaters, our entrees had been out for maybe 20 minutes, and there were empty tables all around us. We’ve never felt so rushed out of a restaurant before — and I used to live in NYC. needless to say, we were not happy, missed out on dessert, and will never be dining here again when we return to Alexandria.

We ordered the Verde and Ultimate Bertucci’s. Both came out hot after about a 20 minute wait. The Verde has arugula, prosciutto, goat cheese and balsamic vinegar. The arugula seemed a bit cooked but the overall flavor was really quite good. The small size is absolutely quite large and enough for at least 2 meals. The Ultimate is everything Bertucci’s. Chicken, pepperoni, sausage adorn this and again, it was very good. I would say that compared to California Pizza Kitchen, it’s very comparable although CPK tends to be a bit more vegetarian. The service is nice but not overbearing and our waitress was working the bar and the seating area with efficiency. Overall it’s a good place and the large windows are wonderful for watching people go by. The food is good, not great but quite acceptable.

I came for a happy hour party that my co-worker won. When we first arrived there was no one in the front so we waited a few until someone noticed we needed help. Once we confirmed who we were we finally sat at the bar. The bartender was great and very attentive. I enjoyed the free pizza that came along with the party. I really want to go back and try the wings. Overall great atmosphere and a very laid back spot!
