I enjoyed the place, thought the Cajun style chicken was tasty, liked the beer selection and the ambience of the place. Glad I stopped by.

I use to really enjoy their charbroiled oysters. A recent change in management has removed those items from the menu. Instead they now make a oven broiled oyster which is terrible. I cant believe they removed their best meal from the menu.

Went here with friends I don’t see often. We ordered a variety of items. Service was adequate if a bit slow. My wife had gumbo and crab cakes. She said the gumbo was very good but the crab cakes were a bit burnt. Our friend had the seafood crepes and they were quite good. I had the fried catish. It was cooked nice and crisp and not greasy. If they had seasoned the cornmeal a bit, maybe just a bit of cayenne, salt and pepper, something, it would have been really good. I asked for some cocktail sauce to give it a little spice and ended up ading some off brand hot sauce to that to make it tollerable. Overall, above average, but not great. We would eat here again.

We were visiting from out of town and googled cajun restaurants and this place came up. Love the ambiance and felt like I was in someone’s home. They are real friendly here and took alot of time to explained the menu. I had the oyster po boy sandwich and sea food bisque the best I ever had! Where can I get that seafood bisque recipe??? lol…

This place is amazing. We had a little glitch at the beginning with service but when noticed they went above and beyond to correct it. And the food was the best seafood we have had in decades. Not on our normal route home but we will definately change and make this a regular stop.

I just left the restaurant after eating there and I can say with out a doubt that I will not be back. I am visiting my parents from out of town and we decided to stop here for dinner for my mom’s 60th birthday. We went here a couple of years ago and it was horrible then, but we decided to give it another go after people kept giving it rave reviews. I think this time was worse than the first. The first time we came, we got a basket of rolls, which were the only decent part of our meal. This time, our server really wasn’t the best. Didn’t tell us the specials, and after we asked, she didn’t really seem to know them. We also never got rolls and she never came back to check on us during our meal. My mom and I each got a cup of gumbo. It was extremely salty and the rice was crunchy. It was the worst gumbo I’ve ever had. For dinner I got the stuffed red fish, my mom got the grilled red fish, and my dad got the blackened red fish. My fish was ok, the stuffing on the fish not so much. My dish also came with garlic mashed potatoes, which tasted like they came from a box. I had a bite of both of my parents’ dishes and the grilled red fish was ok, nothing special. The étouffée that covered my dad’s blacked red fish looked about as disgusting as it tasted. We decided to forgo the desserts, since last time we were there we weren’t that impressed with the ones we ordered. Plus, we already spent $ 95 on pretty crappy food.

I was in town for work and a coworker and I were looking for good cajun food. This place had good reviews and they were all spot on. Great service and really good food. Tasted great, decent portions and nice atmosphere. The prices were a little high but I definitely think it was worth every penny, especially the bread pudding. I really didn’t save room but I knew I couldn’t leave without trying it. Pretty much the best bread pudding I’ve ever had!

The potpourri at the entrance was a little off putting, but hey! It’s a Cajun themed restaurant, sometimes Louisiana doesn’t smell right. They seated us immediately and service was excellent. A bit pricy but the food is well worth it. Pick a bisque… any bisque and you will love it. Fried pistolettes instead of hot rolls? Yes, that’s how we operate in Louisiana! Alligator tail? Check! Blackened snapper on a bed of dirty rice covered with crawfish etouffe? Shhyeah! Light Zydeco playing in the background for added Cajun ambience? You bet your sweet accordion they’ve got it! Excellent dinner. All the way around.

Went here based on reviews and dessert menu alone. Had the Gumbo, Stuffed Snapper, and Bread Pudding. Food was great and the service was even better. Our waitress had a great personality and knew exactly what we were wanting to eat. Cannot wait to visit again when I am in town for work. PS — I got a Key Lime pie to go!

I had the pleasure of bringing my Mom for dinner. Her enjoyed every bit of it. The oysters Bienville was her favorite part. I always love them on the half shell. Great job as always. Can not wait until my next trip!

Food was really good, read the reviews on the bisque and it is as good as they say. Unfortunate I had not saved room for desert.

Great food, wonderful attentive staff. Everyone is so friendly. True Southern hospitality. Interesting story about this place: they have rescued over 1000 cats. For some reason, many years ago, people would drop off their unwanted cats. I guess they figured the cats would be taken care of. Anyway, the restaurant owners have them spayed and neutered then find them loving homes. As a tribute, people send cat figurines. They keep these in the ladies room on display. Obviously, I haven’t seen them, but my beautiful bride said there are a lot of them and it is very interesting. I highly recommend eating here. You won’t be disappointed.

If you are in Alexandria, you must check this place out. Friendly, professional, and attentive waitstaff. Follow their recommendations and you won’t be disappointed. Started with complimentary seafood bisque with shrimp, crawfish, and crab. Main course of crawfish étouffée. Dab some tobasco sauce and ooooh weeeee… make the jack rabbit jump up and slap the alligator! Unfortunately they don’t have a local brew from Alexandria, but the Baton Rouge pale ale was a great match. Crème brûlée for dessert. Torched table side. Quite silky and very creamy. You gotta check this place out!

The bread was good, the salads were okay but the entrees were really bad. Worst grilled snapper I’ve ever had. It was obviously reheated and the crawfish topping was dry and tasteless. Very fishy too. Wife had seafood crepes. They were really bad. On a positive note our server did a great job. Overall I would steer way clear of this place. Yuck.

This is a cute little restaurant. I didn’t enjoy my po boy and it was my first time trying one. So that could mean that I just don’t like po boys too. The watiress was friendly and quick. The restaurant was dead when we went in for lunch but quickly filled up after we arrived.

Seated in an area that smelled horrible like old urine. Might have been the stench of all the cheap candles burning everywhere. The front entrance is loaded up with cheap Chinese jewelry crap which takes away from a «Cajun» feeling for sure. Food was just okay. Gumbo was cooked with way too much file’ and/or other seasonings. It was more of a very thick stew. Saving grace was the fried crawfish.

Dinner was okay. I had a chicken dish and it had the weirdest texture. More like plastic, it was odd but the flavor was good. They made up for it with their Gumbo! It was delicious! Didn’t like their dinner rolls, they were deep fried! Yuck! My husband had seafood Alfredo and loved it. Maybe I’m picky but texture is a big thing for me.

I visited this restaurant based on the Unilocal reviews. Great dinner choice with outstanding service and atmosphere. My server Daniel was courteous and very attentive without being overbearing. The restaurant takes you back to the old southern Cajun roots of Louisiana. The food is well seasoned and prepared perfectly. I highly recommend the catfish, shrimp & crawfish tails. You must have the chocolate pecan pie, it is a great way to complete your dining pleasure. This is a must visit location when you are in the Alexandria area.

We had high hopes but the food didn’t measure up. Although our food was not up to par, the service was exceptional. They took the unsavory dishes off the tab. Thankful for some great people who still put the customer first.
