Zinga Frozen Yogurt

I love this place… they have big selections of toppings. The place is clean in a Beacon Hill Shopping Center right next to AT&T store. Anyway I’m a big fan of tart yogurt and mochi, just talking about it making me want to go and get some.

The girl was soooo rude, so I just left right after I stepped in. My sister and I came here because I was telling her about my experience at the Zinga in Springfield, but when we walked in no one was at the counter. We were trying different samples when a rude girl popped her head out of the back and just stared at us for a long and uncomfortable amount of time. It was like a death stare. Very awkward. Then I just asked her if She could tell me about the acai bowls and she just pointed to a poster and was like here… Okay… So we just left. She was probably happy because you could tell she didn’t want to deal with us at all.

We’re not big on the fro yo normally, but we wandered in here tonight looking for a sweet snack. We’ll definitely be back.
First of all, the woman working there was just lovely. So friendly and helpful. She explained a bunch of the little things to us without being obtrusive. I would not have noticed some of the things they had to offer had she not pointed them out, so that was great.
The fro yo itself was pretty comparable to other places, except that the flavors seemed maybe a bit more «mature» to me. In other words, they weren’t all cloyingly sweet and obnoxiously fruity. I tried the caramel salted pretzel and it was really quite good. Normally, I only like the plain or tart flavor at these places, so it was nice to have some variety.
The toppings and such have good variety. Pretty comparable to the other places. This place might have a little more in the various dry topping area.
We’ll definitely be back, and we’re happy we found the place.

Friendly and helpful customer service are what distinguish this yogurt place from the competition! We also like their loyalty program as you just need to give your telephone number (no cards to lose) to earn free yogurts.
Variety is good at Zinga. They have frozen yogurt, gelato, and sorbet. I wish they had more yogurt flavors, as well as more nonfat options, however. There are lots of toppings from which to choose. I prefer the toppings you scoop up with a spoon over those hanging in wall containers (because I always manage to turn the wheel too much and spill).
A great dessert spot – highly recommended!

Sweet Frog move aside. This is my new go-​to place for self-​serve froyo.
Cheap prices and super friendly staff make this a place worth visiting. Here they offer more than just bowls of froyo. They bake brownies, cookies, cakes, and waffle cones in house. And they have McFlurry/​Blizzard like cups.
Where as an adult I feel awkward walking into Sweet Frog without a child in tow, Zinga felt welcoming, and judgment free. The shop was clean, without sticky floors and handles, and the toppings bar was well maintained.
The selection of toppings is spectacular– over sixty items to choose from: candies, cereals, fruits, nuts, etc. The fruit is fresh, clean, and bright. There are about thirteen froyo/​gelato options to choose from, each with an intense and potent flavor. Flavors are mixed in house, the cream comes direct to the shop where they mix it up.
There are little tasting cups available; you don’t have to ask for them (unlike Sweet Frog). And unlike Sweet Frog where the staff seems disinterested in anything other than your money, I’d be happy to tip here. Here the staff does more than weigh your bowl and ring you up. Here the staff talks with you about the flavors of the day, makes suggestions, and provides conversation. The fact that they bake items in house, and go straight from cream to product are big pluses, as is the freshness and cleanliness of the toppings bar and the shop itself
Maybe next time I go I’ll join their rewards program.

The froyo here doesn’t do anything to set itself apart from any of the other guys. They have a lot of «out of the ordinary» flavors compared to Sweet Frog, but that doesn’t mean they taste very good. I do like the salted caramel popcorn, but oddly it tastes more like a waffle cone than anything else.
The staff is the saving grace here. They are very inviting and more than willing to explain how self serve froyo works (if you’ve never been in before).
No offense Zinga but I think I’ll stick to my guns and keep eating at Sweet Frog.

Things I like: sorbets, toppings, and service.
Things I don’t like: the yogurt. The pacific original specifically, which would usually be my go-​to flavor, was my least favorite. Sticking to my usuals for froyo, Sweet Frog and Yogi Berry… Sorry guys, the flavors just didn’t win me over.

I thought it was okay. The tangy yogurt tasted fine. I wish the toppings had more fruit options (e.g. blueberries or some berries other than strawberries).

You. Are. Not. Sweet. Frog.
Making your fro-​yo one whole penny less per ounce does not a successful restaurant make.

Very impressed by this place! They have amazing frozen yogurt, tons of fresh and dry topping, plus the bottoms are great! I love their brownies and their waffle cones! The workers are very friendly and the restaurant was very clean. And at 48 cents/​ounce it’s cheaper than any of my other options! Awesome!

Pretty good yogurt, on par with Sweet Frog. However, considerably more $$$ than Sweet Frog. Additionally, even though they are located pretty close to Ft. Belvoir they do not offer a military discount :(
