I ordered a hand gun online and went it up today on my lunch break. The whole process was pretty painless. The girl that helped me seemed very educated and got me in and out. I over heard her help a couple other people while I waited on the paper work and she helped them very quickly and professional also. Next year I will be in market for a new Springfield Xd and Gander will be my first stop.

Great store!!! Customer service is outstanding and very knowledgeable, I purchased my guns from them and they are always ready to help you and match any price on guns. Props to Chris, Jaime and Josh. Store is spotless clean, well organized, stacked with merchandise and you will always find something for yourself or family. Tip: you can purchase ammunition on line without filling out all bureaucratic papers and pick it up at Gander for free.

Bought my first handgun here!
Brand-​new Sig P250 (9mm) fires smooth as silk with little recoil.
Buying was easy thanks to the knowledgeable staff and excellent packaging deals for anyone needing to buy accessories.
Great selection with staff who are willing and able to explain to you all of the intricate details of each weapon in their inventory! Would definitely return!

I came here with my son, because we’re looking to do some fishing when it warms up a little bit.
I was impressed by the number of different varieties of rods, reels, bait, and lures they had to offer. The firearm selection was also vast and well organized.
There is a nice camping gear section, but I didn’t see any tents (at least none were on display).
The only reason this place is a three, is because we weren’t acknowledged by anyone the entire 30 minutes we explored the store. Granted, we weren’t there to buy that day, but we could’ve used some help with a few questions.
I did overhear a few interactions, and it sounded like the employees were knowledgeable and patient. I think that if we experience that service next time, I would consider upgrading my rating to four!

I was so excited for Gander Mountain to open up in Algonquin. We have a second home in the North Woods, Wisconsin and this is just the store we needed! My husband and I were looking at the firearm section and a young kid named Steve helped us. He was so friendly and knowledgeable. So nice to have staff members that love their job and make your experience better. We didn’t purchase anything this time– but we hope to purchase our next rifle from Steve!
