Unbelivably long wait for food. We ordered a deep dish pizza(which can take 45min), 2 Italian beef sandwiches, and an appetizer. We asked for the sandwiches with our pizza. Instead they brought the sandwiches a good 15min AFTER our pizza arrived. When we asked what took so long they said their Cuisinart broke so they had to put the sandwiches through the oven. There were no apologies and they did not proactively tell us what was going on. Since the pizzas take so long they could have done a much better job on timing. They gave us «a couple of bucks off»(in their own words) for the inconvenience. We get our check and they gave us $ 2.63 off of a $ 51.10 dollar check. That’s less than one of our sodas($ 2.95). Talk about a slap in the face. The customer service here leaves much to be desired. This location is one to be avoided if you want prompt and attentive service.

Had an appetizer sampler while waiting(the expected 45-min) for our large deep dish pie with sausage and onions. The waitress was very proactive in refilling our sodas and attentive to our needs. This was a Thursday night, so it was not at all crowded. The food and service were very good, so we’ll be back.

Being a Chicago area native-‘pie’ is a staple choice on a Friday night. For most Chicagoans, deep dish is usually what you order when you have out of town guests. amirite? Sometimes you just have a hankering and head over to a Giordano’s or your favorite deep dish place(I usually am a Lou’s girl but since we have it ALL the time at work. it’s nice to change it up) This particular location is actually nice and for a Saturday night, was not super crowded. We ordered a chop salad, parmesean fries and the vegetarian small — which was more than enough for three people. Yummy, consistent, nice dining room, good service, plenty of parking and can be healthy if you choose wisely. Overall, a predictable — in a good way — experience. Chicago comfort every time.

My first experience at Giordano’s Algonquin. We came in at 4 for an early dinner, had the place to ourselves. It’s cute and comfortable. We tried the baked ravioli appetizer, I found it dry and tasteless, a little disappointing, ordered a stuffed bacon and pepperoni deep dish, which took 45 minutes, about the average time. The pizza was well done(a little burnt around the edges), when I inquired asking if all pizzas came that way, or server said no, it takes bacon longer. Hmmm, I call BS on that one. Service was very slow, sat with empty glasses and dirty dishes after the appetizer. I had to find someone to get more water and a beer. The place seemed to start picking up. I think we just had a bad experience, and I will try again.

Haven’t been to this restaurant in a few years. Got a coupon give it another try. Now we remember why we didn’t go back. Tried the stuffed pie and it’s one poor example of local pizza. Sauce was way too sweet, cheese is below average, outer crust was rock hard and inner crust tasted doughie. Hard to believe this place is still open.

I went here for dinner last night. They were really short staffed. Literally 1 waitress, 1 host/manager, one girl taking to go orders and 1 cook, I swear. There was a line to get seated. One party had left because they were waiting so long. I knew we wanted a stuffed pizza so I asked the to go girl if we could place our order while we were waiting for our table. She said sure. When we were seated, the host/manager guy actually took our drink and appetizer order. The drinks and appetizer were delivered in a timely manner so no complaints there. The waitress delivered our appetizer and was very sweet and even though she was probably very busy she maintained a positive attitude and never made us feel like she was rushing. she asked if we had placed a pre order pizza, we said yes, she went to check on it and said we still had 20 min or so left. which was perfect. we ate our appetizer and by the time the pizza came out we were ready. the pizza was delicious. we finished up, she wrapped our pizza, and gave us our check. we did not have to wait for her to run our card(huge pet peeve when you wait 15 min for the waitress to come back to do this). i am not sure if it is normal for them to be this short staffed, and being in the business i could see the frustration but they did a great job! i just hope its not management short staffing the restaurant because it could hurt their business.

This is a full service Giordano’s location. We came in on New Year’s Eve for a dinner with my sister’s family. We were told a time to come for pickup, and waited an extra 10 minutes for our pizza. Not too much a problem, just an annoyance. The deep dish pizza was actually very good. It came fairly hot. We were eating about 15 minutes after pick up, and the temperature was good considering the time. The amount of ingredients was a little thinner than other Giordano’s locations and orders. The discouraging part was, while waiting, we saw some pretty unprofessional things going on in the prep area. The dough makers were very casual and joking around, tossing it around, even onto the supply shelves. The one which landed on the shelves, to the best that I could tell, was simply put back into the rotation of products they were preparing. One extra star for the tasty pizza, but I’ll be hard pressed to come to this location expecting safe food.

I never write reviews but felt this was necessary due to the most pitiful service I had ever experienced. It was so bad, it’s hard to describe… HISTORICALLYBAD! Just to sum it up, the place was dead, the wait for pizza was off the charts long, the pizza was messed up, no accountability or apology, it was almost laughable! Please, please, please Mr or Ms or Mrs Franchise owner… FIXTHIS!

Stuffed pizza is amazing. For best experience, get it to go. Very slow wait staff.

Will never return. Called in over an hour early for a 6:40 pickup… 7 pm… Still not done. Food was cold. Pizza was mediocre at best. Our delay was validated, in their minds, that the they are behind and delivery was taking 2.5 hours. They had two chefs and two managers with out hair nets or anything make food. They had one waitress on staff. The only compensation that was offered for our wait was a free two liter of pop… When we spent $ 70.00. Will never be back and will tell everyone to avoid at all costs. They clearly don’t have good business sense or customer service skills.

So I work literally across the street, I call in about 6 and order a Cesar Salad with grilled chicken. I paid $ 13 for a salad with stale croutons and 6 slices of chicken. Which I paid $ 4 extra to add. Took an hour and 20 minutes for someone to take my salad across Randall road. Not too pleased, waste of money. I’m sure the pizza is better but the salad needs some care… And was I wrong for assuming the grilled chicken would be warm instead of fridge cold?

Came here over the weekend as a guest of a private party. There were about 60 – 75 people, so a pretty large group. I had been looking forward to pigging out on some deep dish all weekend and it was time for some grub! We got here and the party room was still hosting another party. I’m not sure if we got here a little early or if the previous group stayed late. Either way, we waited about 20 minutes waiting for the party to leave and for the staff to flip the room. FYI, their waiting area has only a couple seats. Once everyone was situated at their table the wait staff was hurrying and working their tales off to get everything out. Drinks, salad, plates, cutlery etc. For some reason though, the kitchen/management did not have their act together. There wasn’t enough food for everyone. Once all the pizza was eaten we were all waiting for the second wave of pizzas to come on out. Not everyone had gotten a slice of pizza before it was all gone. The party hosts were. not. happy. Our group was pretty easy going so I don’t think people were upset, at least I wasn’t. I used to work in restaurants and I understand that things like this happen. None the less, food was good — when you were able to find some. Previously, I’d never had the thin crust from Giordano’s before and it was tasty. I don’t think I’ll ever order it myself since their deep dish is why you come here! Shout out to the waitresses this weekend. They worked their tales off to try and keep a very large and hungry bunch of people happy!

Great deep dish pie. TIP: you can purchase frozen deepdish pizzas if you call in advance. Bust one of these bad boys out to when your next unexpected guest shows up and you will be an instant hero.

I love this place. The food is great and the staff is friendly and courteous. My server Ashley was great. She had a vast knowledge of everything that they served and answered all my questions without problem.

Let me preface this by saying that I do not usually write bad reviews. But, since I left so unhappy, here goes. Slow service. No apologies for complaints about being charged $ 5.90 for 2 kids’ rootbeers when the menu says soft drinks are included in kids meals AND our pizza wasn’t hot enough when it came out the first time. The kids pizzas are tiny, so my kids were starving after they finished their food. The only redeeming point was the chicken chopped salad, which my husband and kids loved. My Greek salad was fine, except there were so many peppers on it, it seemed as though there were more peppers than lettuce(and of course, I don’t like peppers)! Who puts green, red and yellow peppers on Greek salad anyway?! The waiter never came back for the check, although he made eye contact twice with me in the ten minutes we waited before taking the check to the counter. The cashier basically wrote off my complaints and told me that he hoped we would be happy wherever else we took our business. Well, it certainly won’t be there again! Very disappointing!

Just visited my home town. I was pressed for time but wanted an Italian beef sandwich so the closest place was Giordano’s. Their south side Italian beef was the THEWORST beef in the history of Italian beef. I’m so sorry I wasted 1 of my meals here. I didn’t think you could screw up Italian beef, but these guys found a way.

We recently ordered from this location and just didn’t care for it. I’ve had thin crust from another location years ago and loved it but this pizza had a pretty thick crust for being considered thin at this location. We were disappointed. I ordered a house salad and there must have been something in the dressing that was spicy like red pepper because I couldn’t even eat it. That was a bummer too because the description of the dressing sounded light. We also ordered an Italian Deli Sandwich and that actually was good. So, at least we had something we liked :-) Just not the place for us when ordering thin crust pizza.

A sad, sad experience. This was my second visit to this location and it was a dealbreaker, never again. Our server was painfully slow and indifferent. I had to get up and chase him down to get our party’s order going otherwise we would still be sitting there now. The end result was that 45 minutes after our pizza order was taken we were told that it was going to be 15 minutes yet on the large and 5 minutes on the two small ones. Huh??? Sure enough about fifteen minutes later we were brought two small pizzas that were barely room temperature and five minutes later came the large one which was steaming hot. Did I mention that our apps were served separately also?

This is our second Giordano’s location we’ve dined in. We are not native to the state, but enjoy their stuffed pizza so consider it a treat when we can fit a visit around a trip… The atmosphere, food and service at the Algonquin location were all good.
