We’ve been living right down the street for about a year and decided to try out Dix Coney Island II for the first time. It’s a tiny joint, not good for big parties, but my Mom, sister, and I had a great time. The waitress working was very pleasant and efficient. I have a habit of ordering chili cheese fries and about flipped my lid when I saw they had chili cheese onion rings on the menu! Best decision ever! Delicious!

There are few things in life that are really difficult to mess up; scrambled eggs, hamburger, chicken strips and hot dogs… especially if you’re Coney Island. Let me start off with the staff, they are polite and friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. We ordered hotdogs and fries, Mexican omelet, french toast, and chicken strips and fries. The hot dog was okay the fries tasted like old(cooked and sat for awhile) over cooked or cooked in bad oil. Maybe all three. French toast was barely a step above regular toast. I am talking zero flavor. Even the syrup didn’t help. The chicken strips were done so well that it was like eating shoe leather, and the taste wasn’t much better. Now the coup d’etat. The Mexican omelet came with the thinnest egg I have ever seen on an omelette. The insides contained ground beef peppers and onions yet despite those ingredients there was no taste. It quite literally tasted like somebody cooked up ground beef with no seasoning and green peppers and onions then stuck it in a bowl of water for an hour and reheated it. To clarify not one item that we ordered had one ounce of flavor. Oh… and by the way my hash browns were borderline burnt and the ones that weren’t burnt we’re grey… Gross! To the credit of the waitress, she did offer did offer to deduct any meals that we were unhappy with from our bill. We declined primarily because we did eat a meal… all four of us and it seems ridiculous to leave without paying a dime. I just will never return!

This place, while small, has some of the best dogs and greasy food you could ask for. Service is stellar and the place gives you that small town feel. The only drawback is that if you expect a seat during lunch time odds are you will have to wait. But that’s a good sign right?

Found this diner looking for breakfast. It’s on the corner of a downtown busy road but good amount of parking. Service is fast and friendly for that little place. They were very busy on a Saturday, early afternoon. Very cheap and really good. Couldn’t have asked for better at that price point. Small outdoor seating area, nicely shaded. It’s a diner. Perfect for a quick stop with friendly faces and quick well-made food.

My son just moved to Michigan from NJ and told us about the Coney Island resturaunts which are all over and like NJ Diners. Service was friendly and quick. Very small, we had to wait 5 mins when we got there for a booth. Food was basic diner style food but good and inexpensive. Was our first one would like to try another. Fun enjoyable experience while visiting MI

Nothing special. Decent food, decently priced. Right by the movie theater, so it has convenience. I think they really try to have a good restaurant, but in the end, it’s a Coney with all the food coming from bags or pouches.

This is our Sunday breakfast place. Michelle is awesome. We always get our food hot and fast. There are always specials and the spinach(fresh spinach not frozen) and feta omelette is my favorite. My son loves both the pancakes and the waffles. You also can’t beat the egg breakfast special’s price. We rarely miss a Sunday but when we do we can’t wait until the next weekend.

If you are a Big Shot, this is the coney joint for you! Take your date to the dollar show across the street than drop in at Dix for good food at a great price! Great chili sauce and awesome fries. Has a utilitarian all-night diner feel. Friendly waitstaff.

when ever I am in the mood to eat some good diner food I go to Dix Coney Island. I swear I ussually get the bacon cheese burger with a side of chili cheese fries and a water and that costs about 6 bucks(not including the tip). the service is always friendly, the food is always good, and the prices are always low this place is the best coney I have ever eaten at. I highly recommend this restaurant.

By far the best Coney island in the area. They are a lot less expensive than Leo’s Coney, and serve up the same quality food, and the staff is personable and friendly.

regional hot dogs a coney dog in Detroit delicious meat tube Today, I had a most delicious lunch for a grand total of $ 2.53. Being the big player that I am, I gave the waitress a five and told her to keep the change. Known as the«Coney Island Special», it consisted of a boiled hot dog topped with Coney sauce, mustard, and something called«loose beef». Impossible to eat without a fork and knife. And it was deeeee-lish! The small little obviously Greek diner has a nice menu, a cheerful waitress who also preps salads and such, low prices, and a decent bathroom. –Except for the plunger in the corner. That was kinda gross. Crinkle cut fries for excellent ketchup retention as well. I gotta say, that Coney Dog was yummy. Carry on.
