Great BBQ place. The first time I had Rudy’s was in El Paso. I had moist brisket with bean salad and cole slaw and was very impressed with their food. After I moved to Dallas, I found out there was Rudy’s in Dallas which made me very happy! This place is very far from my house, so I can’t visit often(i really wish I could), but whenever I’m nearby, I always make sure to stop by and get moist brisket! I’ve actually never tried any meats besides brisket, but I would love to try other meats. I’ve taken a few friends, and all my friends fell in love with their meat(well, at least moist brisket). The service is always great, and the staff are very nice and friendly. I can’t wait to visit again!

We ordered dinner here and were pleasantly surprised. Moist Brisket was indeed moist and delicious Chicken was tender and well seasoned Potato salad was excellent Creamed corn was a little too sweet for me Cole slaw was fresh yet very bland New potatoes were good but nothing special Original BBQ Sauce is good but has quite a kick We’ll definitely stop by again.

Excellent experience! Fast and friendly service. I got the brisket sandwich beans and slaw, easily the best I’ve had.

Best BBQ place in Texas hands down. Meat is always fresh and portions right on. Brisket(lean/moist) is always a great choice and their pit ham has amazing flavor. Loaded meat potatoes are HUGE and are more than a meal in itself. Awesome place for kids and families that is budget friendly.

Love coming here bc of the laid back atmosphere. The staff is always friendly and the food delicious. My favorite are the moist brisket and smoked prime rib. The prime rib is a bit pricy but it’s worth it. Tried the smoked turkey last time and was surprised at how flavorful and moist it was! Remember to get the creamed corn and banana pudding! Yumm!

Excellent barbecue. Tastes great without the sauce, but the sauce is good too. Start with the«sissy» sauce(it’s just a name; no shame). My favorites are the moist brisket, the pork ribs and prime rib(prime rib and tenderloin are available only on Saturday and Sunday). The meats are tender and smoky. They’re also good for the gluten-free(almost all of the meats and at least the cole slaw). Let them know and they’ll wipe everything down and get you a fresh cutting board and fresh slabs. My main complaint is that they play the most godawful country music.

Big Ray’s BBQ in Allen apparently ‘lost’ my very large catering order for over 30 people. Rudy’s BBQ was able to put together quite the spread at the last minute and for less $! Rudy’s really saved my son’s Graduation Party!!! Thank you Rudy’s!

Fantastic place! Easily one of the best BBQ around despite it is somewhat a chain place. You order by the pound for the brisket and by the link for the sausage. You are served on butcher paper and given practically a loaf of bread. A pound of brisket is a good amount for two people if order nothing else. If you like soda, you get a «souvenir» cup which you can bring back to get a discount on the drinks next time. The regular sausage(which I love) is a little more spicy than you might expect. But it compliments the brisket really well, and works great if you combine the two in make a sandwich. The only con as far as the food goes, is the pork ribs(just so you know, half pound is about 3 ribs). The meat is great and falls off the rib, but the rub is very peppery. A friend I came with had to wipe them down so they wouldn’t be as peppery.

So good. Oh so good. I’m so happy I finally got the chance to have authentic Texas BBQ as a first time Californian. Tell them it’s your first time and they will give you samples of anything you want. It seems like you won’t be dissappointing with any of the meats. The service was great and the people were very nice and informative. It was so obvious that I had no idea what I was doing but that was okay. The seating and patrons of the restaurant was very welcoming with community sized tables. The peach cobbler was so good!!! The best I’ve ever had. I also normally never get turkey but I’m glad I gave it a shot. Very tender, moist, and infused with so much smoky. Baby back ribs are finger licking good to the bone. The potatoes(boiled and buttered) were eh. Tasted like it sounds. Cream corn mmmm! I’m definitely going to come back next week and try one of their local beers from the huge selection.

We’ve gone to this place several times. They don’t have plates or pre-set meals though. You order the meat by the pound(or ½ pound, etc), then order the sides separately. I LOVE the pulled pork, my husband loved the ribs, the brisket was so/so(I got the lean brisket, might try the moist next time). It’s in a gas station, which is slightly disconcerting at first, but we gave it a try since so many people loved it. My only problem here was that they don’t have any hot sides. I LOVE hot sides with BBQ. :/Also they only have two types of BBQ sauce, and one type of hot sauce. It’s not bad though, would just love some more options.

Although this is a chain, it has the best BBQ around Allen. This is part gas station, part country store, party BBQ pit. They sell assorted BBQ meats by the ½ pound although you can get it by the full pound or partial pound. They have things from ribs, to pulled pork, and other meats but my favorite hands down is the moist brisket! I love the fatty pieces, but it doesn’t taste good after a few hours so it’s best to keep it fresh. You also get a choice of white or wheat bread, there’s a condiment bar with onions, pickles, etc. The cashiers will give you some wax paper so clean up is a breeze and you can smother your BBQ in their Rudy’s Sause which is a spicy BBQ sauce or Sissy Sause which is the non-spicy sauce. They also have jumbo baked potato with meat costing a little extra, or sandwiches. As far as sides go, their new potatoes was a bit on the plain side, but the potato salad is good with my brisket. They also have this peach dessert thing, but I forgot the name of it but it was pretty good! Oh, and before you go to the cashier station, they have a large ice box for you to pick some soda, or beer. I love the nostalgic feeling I get when i eat here.

Good food/outstanding service. My wife and I dropped in for lunch today. I had the turkey sandwich and she the brisket. Portions were generous and the turkey was moist and perfectly smoked. The brisket had very good flavor but was a bit on the dry side. Sides were also good. Service was friendly and well executed at the counter. Restaurant was clean and a nice family atmosphere. Will certainly dine there again.

I have been to this particular Rudy’s for a long time. The Brisket is awesome, the creamed corn is dreamy, and the prime rib just melts. When I do come back to Texas, I would love to come back to Rudy’s.

Came here for lunch, awesome barbecue and sauce. Wish they wouldn’t give me so much burnt meat in my meal. Just like all grill joints pricing is a little steep but youv get what you pay for.

I don’t need to say much, the BBQ is on point and since moving to California I have missed the Texas BBQ and brisket so much. Love coming back here and enjoying some brisket and shiner.

Ate here with a group of business associates. I had the moist brisket, along with some tater salad. Whitebread for all is placed on the table, and condiments galore. It’s a little weird eating such decent bbq in a gas station, but I thoroughly enjoyed the meal. Not the best brisket I’ve ever had, but it’s certainly up there. They have a decent selection of local beer(bottles and cans only, I’m afraid), and extremely casual ambience(see gas station comment above). Being right next to Cabela’s didn’t hurt. Gave me a chance to walk off the 2,500 calories I consumed.

5 stars for being my favorite BBQ place. The food isn’t fancy and they got picnic tables. Just the way I like it! It’s a very chill place with a great staff and great food. One of the best reasons to bring your group here is that there’s plenty of space to where you’ll never have to wait for a table. They have TVs all over the place(no sound) so you can watch your Texas sports. Whether I’m here with a friend or a group of 10, we always have a good time at Rudy’s. The brisket and jalapeño sausages are my choice of meats and pretty much every side they got. I could literally eat a pint of creamed corn because it’s that good! The condiments bar is simple — onions, jalapenos, pickles, and a few other stuff. Pick up whatever you want and sit and have a good meal. On my most recent visit to Rudy’s, my friend told us how we can ask for the bread to be toasted. And they toast it with butter… mmmmm nom nom nom. All the more reason to eat here!

I stopped in at closing for a trip through the drive thru. They don’t have a speaker, you just pull right on up to the window. I wanted to try their brisket but sadly, they were out. I settled for a sandwich. The food was okay/underwhelming. This is a fast food option to fix a craving for smoked meat/the real deal, but I would not seek this place out for BBQ. ++ Pulled Pork Sandwich: 2 out of 5, somehow the meat managed to be dry despite being loaded with sauce… the texture screamed overcooked or something, not terrible, but not memorably amazing… decent for the price point. ++ Rudy’s Chop?(some type of mixed turkey/beef chopped bbq sandwich): 3/5, comes loaded with sauce, not smokey or particularly flavorful, a-okay for the price point. ++ Coleslaw: 2.5÷5 stars, $ 2, enough for 2 sandwiches. ++ Sweet Tea: 2.5÷5 stars, $ 2 for 12 oz & they forgot to give it to me… not a problem, it happens… but when I phoned back to ask if I could just get it comped on my next meal, they told me no and that if I wanted it, I needed to turn around and come back… this was a turn off considering it wasn’t my fault, and considering that the watered down tea was pricey. Approx $ 6 for a sandwich, $ 2 for a side, $ 2 for a 12 oz drink. $ 10 per person wouldn’t be a stretch for a Rudy’s meal. Not sure the product backs the price point, but it is better than say a Dickey’s.

Maybe is just me who being picky, I couldn’t taste the richness and boldness in Rudy’s. Yes, the meats are tender, and that’s is. I give 4 stars for the coleslaw The Rudy’s special BBQ sauce taste regular tangy flavor. The sissy sauce is lighter in taste. Will I recommend to others? Hmmm. I prefer local mum & pop BBQ place

Great place with a big number of people, or just a few people. It just depends. Today I got the moist brisket because last time I got the lean brisket and was not that happy about it. I’m glad I got it right this time! My meal was a half pound of moist brisket and a small cream corn with some(free) bread. You really can’t go wrong with the famous moist brisket. You’ll carry your order to your table and have the choice of sissy bbq sauce or the Rudys BBQ Sauce. Of course… no one wants to be a sissy, so I used the Rudys sauce. And then the sissy sauce… Just to see the difference… Basically, Rudys sauce was just spicier and tangy while the sissy was just plain olé bbq sauce. Good environment, highly recommend. My total came out to be around $ 12.
