After posting my frustration on the change of hours I received a private message from the owner of this Firehouse-he apologized to me, explained that they just changed their closing time to 9pm, and did update all the online sites but maybe it just didn’t get updated yet. Then he offered to give me my free birthday sub anytime I wanted to come in for it-way to go, Firehouse, way to turn a disappointing situation around! This is customer service at its finest!!!

This place used to be really good. Not sure what happened. The subs are really thrown together and very messy. Meats are plentiful(sometimes) but doesn’t taste fresh. You have about 25 seconds to eat the Italian sub before the roll turns in a paste of tangy nastiness. I’ll visit again in a couple of months to see if maybe they just hit a bad patch.

This is a counter service chain sub shop. Have dined at Southern ones, but this was our first time at this location. The décor is similar to others, with their firehouse look. The food is the same and still quite good, but the service here is quite slow. Very few tables were actually clean. Sure hope they correct this soon, as I like having one in this area. For those that miss Quiznos, this is very close, if not better.

Eh. I expected more. They were average sandwiches and were overpriced. Nothing seemed to standout for me. I had the Italian which is my go-to whenever I’m at a sandwich shop. I would have been happier if I had gone to Wawa, and I really regretted not just going to Primos instead. Either way, I like trying new places. I definitely won’t go back. There are too many better options.

2 stars for this place. Had high expectations for this place. Sub-par sub and overall experience. Bread seemed semi-stale. Toppings were skipmy and resturant appeared dirty. Lemons and limes at drink machine were SHRIVELEDUP! I mean, really? Workers were young and loud and goofy, too the point of spoiling my quick meal even more, Wasnt memorable. Mediocure would be an overstatement! Don’t go here. Better subs are out there… Cheaper and fresher! I will be skipping you forever, Firehouse. What an unsettling, letdown of an experience! Avoid!

My husband would probably rate it at 4 stars, while I’m a solid 2.5. 3 it is. They are friendly, but often overwhelmed. Don’t come here if you are in a hurry, or go off hours(that’s when we go). Sandwiches are a step up from Subway if you don’t want some of the craziness Subway offers. Heavy on the meat. Note to save moolah: upgrade your sandwich to the larger size and have them split it. It’s enough for 2 of us when I add chips.

Made an unplanned stop to eat here while traveling in the Allentown/Bethlehem area. Location wasn’t exactly hard to find, but the area is built up and traffic can be heavy. What surprised me was this isn’t built closer to the Lehigh Valley Mall. Decently large location with plenty of seating. Firehouse Subs is basically a Subway with better tasting but more expensive food and nicer locations. Ordered an Italian while my friend got a Chicken Sub, with a custom Ranch Hot Sauce mix. Service was not the fastest but the subs were delicious and loaded with meat, to the point I couldn’t finish mine. Went with an Oatmeal Raisin cookie over the chips and it was delicious. Location has one Coca-Cola Freestyle machine. Even with service not being the fastest, it was still good. Little things could have been better, the beverage area could have been a little tidier, but overall it was a good visit and I would return.

Tried the meatball sub. It was fantastic. It had great taste & was super fresh. They got me hooked.

Went on a Sunday at lunchtime for a quick bite. Since it wasn’t crowded I didn’t have to wait. Italian was warm and flavorful not too abundant with meat but the roll was so soft that none of that mattered. The drink size with the meal is bucket sized, much like something that you might strap to a horses head to eat oats. I’ll probably come it again because I agree the place was clean and the firehouse theme is not unpleasant and I’ll probably want to try the meatball sub they are advertising. Decent staff. It’s not the kind I place if go out of my way to get to but if I’m in the area and wanting a sub I’d hit it up. It’s a subway with a theme and a smaller selection but better quality. Now off to Starbucks to avoid watching my fantasy players lose me another game. Oh forgot to mention: large sauce selection~!!

The good: very clean restaurant, not too noisy. The wheat bread was tasty. Staff was friendly and efficient. The not so good: the meat was pretty cold for«hot subs». Overall so so taste and flavor. Selection could be better.

Stopped in at Firehouse Subs for the first time yesterday on the way to an IronPigs game down the street at Coca-Cola Park. The location is decent, the parking is a large shared lot in a strip mall with Verizon and Zoup next door. There are more seats than expected inside and it’s well spaced. The staff was what you’d expect at a place like this and the menu was appropriately sized. A few more options as far as cold subs or maybe some more hot subs such as a chicken club or chicken parm would be an improvement. The large sub is a large, bigger than a «footlong» from subway and ingredients filled the sub well. The taste was good and the price was ok. Overall this is a far better sub than subway or your local takeout shop. I will be back. Oh, and as a firefighter myself, the décor was well received and appreciated!

Because we had a coupon I opted to give Firehouse a second try and while some things were a bit better, unfortunately the song remains the same for the rest. The Freestyle Coke machine is now old hat as several places have them so there is no need to go ga-ga over that anymore. The steamed roll and the flavors overall are truly better then what you’ll get at the majority of deli/Subway type places in the area. But the problem here still is that it takes too damn long to get the food done. We were the only people ordering at the time and two medium sized subs still took over ten minutes and the entire process was a bit over fifteen because we had to stand there for a bit because no one was ready to wait on us. Overall the food is good but it’s still entirely too damn slow.

One of the Best, Original, fast food Sandwich places. Firemen/house theme is cool and different. Fresh ingredients, meat, bread, everything! Better than any other competitor and they need to open in Long Island NY! The ppl would go crazy! The best is my hook & ladder sandwich HOT, soooooo delicious. And they have the best Drink Dispenser of ALLTIME, a computerized dispenser consisting of over 100 different combination sodas, so awesome.

Not a big fan, while i understand the concept i believe they should back it up with good food. The prices are extremely high for this area, which im not opposed to paying if i am getting a good portion. Visit a local deli not a chain and get a better sandwich for less. I think I am going on a no-chain diet.

If you like hot subs with quality ingredients then you will like Firehouse. They don’t skimp on the meat(which my husband loves) and the bread is just enough without being overly thick. And a steamed sandwich is always better, which is what they do. The Engineer and Hook and Ladder are our favs(Engineer has sautéed mushrooms, yummmmm). This is not a gyro place or a sandwich shop with 100 «Italian flare» options. And thank goodness for that! You can get a gyro on every corner in town. Firehouse isn’t even in the same realm of a Subway(gag) or Wegmans for that matter. I’m not overly impressed with Wegmans though(give me a Whole Foods). Try it out, it’s different than anything else in this town and we NEED some diversity! The more options the better so support some of these new places taking a risk opening in the LHV. Otherwise it’s back to pizza, pizza, gyro, McD’s, and more pizza.

First of all, most of the reviews are from out of towners. Second of all, the person that said they drive over an hour for this place if flat out lying, no way, absolutely impossible. The only accurate review if from a local from Allentown. This is basically your normal chain deli with the twist of having a large selection of hot sauces and having the added benefit of donating some of their profits to charity. The food is average at best, the selection(besides the hot sauces) is not that good, the staff is typical minimum wage folk, the clientele is slightly scary… not really a lot of reason to stop in here. If you are in the area and really(really) looking for a sub, just save yourself a lot of disappointment and either hit Zoup or the Gryo place next door or drive up the street to Wawa… I know seems silly, but it’s basically the same food with a slightly less nice interior! Still appreciate fire fighters, but they should stick to fire fighting, not making food.
