This place is awesome! My husband and I tried it out this past Saturday and had an overall great experience. The hostess Ashley was very polite and prompt. She asked us our preference on a booth or table and was very charismatic. Followed by great service and food. We will definitely be back!

I just can’t understand the lower reviews… almost didn’t come in due to them but boy am I glad I did! Our waiter David was on the spot with great service and the food is nothing short of outstanding! My wife got the chicken fingers and gave me a taste… they were the best I’ve ever had! No exaggeration… I’ve eaten at all the restaurants in Avalon and this is one of the best. Great southern food… I’ll definitely be back!

Great spot for a quick lunch! The interior has wonderful lighting and very comfortable seating. Seems fairly quiet, there were only a handful of guests in the building at the time. My boyfriend ordered the turkey burger with a side salad-the burger was phenomenal! As for me I decided in the California club which was also very good as well. The chicken was cut up into little bite size pieces and very tasty. As for the Brunswick stew… if you are used to good ol’ homemade southern Brunswick stew this stew is definitely not up to par. The flavor and consistency is more of a hearty vegetable soup with shredded chicken. It still is pretty good but maybe the stew should be changed to vegetable stew instead! Definitely recommend if you are in the Avalon!

Had the chicken skillet and it was good. As a matter of fact it was all good. Other than the perfectly cook pieces of chicken in the dish it was all jus good. Wasn’t impressed with the chicken tenders at all. Batter didn’t stick as well as being on the dry side. $ 47 for 2 people at breakfast should be a lot better.

Underwhelming. The lemonade was yummy but the food was far from flavorful. I wonder how these places can afford the rent in spots like the Avalon. There was no one in there and I don’t blame them. Just because it’s fried and on a piece of french bread doesn’t mean it’s a po’boy lol. Maybe their breakfast is better?

The chicken and waffles! I have had it here when they first open and didn’t like it. But they have gotten better with the quality. Lightly fried crispy outside and it’s perfect! The waffle is not as heavy as they used to be.

The center booth tables are Horrible! No leg room. Seriously sit along the wall. Side of Mac and cheese was worse than the box kind from the grocery, in fact I wish it would have been boxed kind. Mac was warm not hot. Fried Chicken and waffle was piping hot and very filling. Fried Chicken was chicken tenders and a bit on chewy side but overall it was fine. Based on the waffle I would say the breakfast is probably decent. I would say give it a try for something different.

Wish I had listen to everyone else. Food was mediocre at best. My chicken tenders were the best thing we had. The meatloaf was dry and cold. The brussel sprouts were mushy. The Mac and cheese was cold. And the cheese mashed potatoes just tasted bad. Our servicer might have been the most awkward person ever. He would pass by, slow down but not stop. How can they have two locations that are this horrible?

Utterly disappointed. I came in in New Year’s Day, and the experience started off rough. After waiting a few minutes by the host stand, the hostess finally acknowledged me and said«2?» Then proceeded to answer phone(the conversation lasted ab 15 seconds and consisted of the hostess saying yes, they were open), she then rolled her eyes, hung up the phone, sighed with grief and mumbled«that’s like the 20th time.» We were then shown to our seat without a word. Our waitress was much more friendly, and by the smell in the restaurant, I was looking forward to eating a delicious lunch. I ordered the California Cobb sandwich, with crispy brussels, and the BF ordered the ¼ chicken plate with broccoli salad. The sandwich arrived and it was huge! I took my first bite, and instantly I was in need of water. The roasted chicken was SUPER dry. The only good part of my sandwich was the crispy thick cut bacon. The BF’s ¼ chicken plate wasn’t any better — dry and bland. At a restaurant that focuses on chicken, I was disappointed in the meat. Maybe the fried chicken tenders are better. Overall, I would skip this place if you’re looking for looking for roasted chicken.

I visited this restaurant this past Sunday evening with a friend. We were ignored at the door for several minutes, then when we were seated, we waited 10 minutes just to give our drink orders. Another 15 minutes passed before the server came to take our food order. After an hour, with still no food, I asked our server the ETA of our meal. She disappeared. I asked a man who appeared to be a manager, if we could just get our check for my companion’s hot tea and cancel our order. After several more minutes our server came back and said«My mistake; I forgot to ring up your order. You don’t need to pay for the tea, you can go ahead and leave». We left. No apology from anyone else, no, «Give us another chance», no, «Please let us make this up to you»… just the flippant, «My mistake» from the server. Needless to say, we won’t be back.

Ordered the chicken tenders, greens, and fries around 415pm on 12÷19÷15 and food taste fine, so I thought! I’ve been throwing up for hours and been extremely sick from eating here! Don’t eat at this place! FYI, this was the only food I had consumed for the day and the only thing coming up while bent over the trash can.

This place has pretty good food but the management is a mess. I’ve been here on two occasions and each time I had an issue. I always order the chicken biscuit, which is delicious. The waiters are friendly but often you have several waiters walk by before someone seats you or takes your order. Customers should be greeted, whether you are waiting on them or not. A simple«Someone will be with you» goes a long way. My first visit, my potatoes were burnt and the service took a while. My second visit, I didn’t order any potatoes and had no problem with cooking. The service was quicker once my waitress introduced herself(still took time before initial introduction). Once I received the check, I paid with a $ 20 bill. I noticed it was taking a long time for my change. Turns out they didn’t have change for a $ 20. What restaurant doesn’t have change for small bills after being open a few hours? I could understand if I paid with $ 100 or even if I was the first customer of the day. The manager went to the bank to try and get change. I was told I had a choice to wait for change or pay with a card. Luckily I had just enough to cover the tab in cash but wasn’t able to tip as much as I wanted(which is why I tried to break the $ 20). I think I’ll probably just get my food to go moving forward. Management really needs to tighten up here.

We’ve been twice now for breakfast. Both times the food was amazing and service is great. The biscuits are light and fluffy and if you are truly dedicated to Southern cuisine you can get pimento cheese on your biscuit. My husband is obsessed with the cheddar waffle. Coffee is always fresh. Nothing in the Avalon is open early except for the movies so we have never waited for a table. Ask for Shannon to be your waiter. He is on top of his game!

B+B does Southern inspired food right. It’s light, presented cleanly, not greasy, not sloppy. Big, beautiful biscuits and smartly delivered classics like mixed greens stewed in a tomato juice to cut the bitterness(brilliant!) The location at the front of Avalon is convenient although the interior is spare and a bit dry. Our service was prompt, everything was clean, the food was hit and fresh. We’ll be back!

Had a not-so-great experience here this past Saturday evening. I really enjoyed lunch at B+B at Lenox a couple weeks ago, so this was a big disappointment. DH and I went in kind of early(around 5:45−6) as we were trying to make a movie. The place was EMPTY besides 2 families, despite our trouble finding parking. We ordered the GF tenders as an app, DH ordered ¼ chicken, mashed potatoes and«spicy» collards(they weren’t spicy at all); and I ordered the GF meatloaf with mashers and garlic spinach. Our tenders came out pretty fast and they were juicy and had a nice GF breading, but our entrees came out right on top of it. I’d barely eaten ½ my first tender when our entrees arrived. My meatloaf was ok, pretty flavorless and I’m not convinced it was cooked all the way through, so I only at the edges. My corn muffin was over-baked and dry. My spinach was sitting in an inch of spinach water: gross. The mashers were fine but flavorless. I could immediately tell that DH’s chicken looked dry as a bone… how does that happen with rotisserie chicken?! Then, he found a hair… right on top of his mashed potatoes. When the server checked in, we let him know the chicken was dry and the mashers had issues. He immediately apologized and took the plate away, returning quickly with a free beer and soon after with an entirely new entrée. He also comp’ed DH’s meal. Even though he did all of the right things, the magic was gone by this point and we were skeeved. Also of note: the UGA/Alabama game was on tv and a guy who worked there(kitchen staff, I think) was dropping f bombs at the tv not far from our table and a table nearby with some small children. Now, I have as much of a sailor’s mouth as the next guy(sorry, sailors!) but that’s not something I expect(or want) to hear from people in the service industry unless I’m at a seedy f’ing bar, no matter how badly UGA was getting crushed. I’m fairly certain we won’t back here soon, but I will continue to visit the Lenox B+B. That said, I do think it’s overpriced for what you get at all locations.

Bantam + Biddy is becoming a habit now that my office is only 1.5 miles away. I’ve enjoyed lunching here, though the prices are high. I’d tried B+B in Ansley Mall and was just ok with it. But when looking for a healthy and filling salad, their Power Salad with chicken and carrot ginger vinaigrette has become my go to. Sure it ends up being a $ 15 salad by the time you add tax, but the ingredients are high quality, fresh, and tasty. I’ve also enjoyed the veggie plate(pick 4 sides) for which I chose the sweet potato fries, collards, mac and cheese, and watermelon salad. I won’t order the mac and cheese again since I wasn’t a fan of the sauce. The collards were ok, sweet and spicy. The sweet potato fries and the watermelon salad were both good. Not an every day place, but a nice treat for healthy choices.

I was looking for something to eat Saturday morning that would cure a heavy night of partying. I was using the trusty Unilocal app and came across this place. The pictures looked real solid. In fact, so solid, I even convinced my highly closed-minded friend to come with me(mind you getting him to leave his zip code is a challenge, let alone going to Avalon!). I told him if we left early enough, we would be ok– and we were. I noticed that this place opens at 8AM– honestly, I would say, you are better off coming here earlier than later. We arrived at 10AM, and it was a perfect– not too crowded at all. Hell, I was even able to get a front row parking spot! Upon walking in, I felt like I was in West Midtown Atlanta. The vibe of white tile and light woods– almost like Jeni’s or something out of Krog Street Market. We were greeted, and seated immediately. We got menus, and our drink orders filled. I noticed they had a TV with ESPN playing, and a bar in the back(but I noticed with the hours, you don’t come here for late night drinking). We sat in a booth, right up front(they have a nice mix of booths and tables). My fat ass, barely fit(time to lose some weight). They menu was solid– having a tough time deciding. Let’s be honest though, was I really going to deviate from a bacon cheddar waffle, topped with chicken tenders and bourbon pecan maple syrup? Hell no! So, that’s what I stuck with. along with a side of home fries. I also just kept drinking water. My buddy ordered a coke(heads up, cans only), along with biscuits and gravy, add tenders. The food came out fairly quickly, which was good. The plates were mouth watering as they arrived. I couldn’t wait to eat! Thankfully, the food was just as good as it looked. I mixed everything on my plate like a Picasso painting and went to town. It actually took me a while to eat, and I tell you what– it was filling! It was a solid plate– some of the better chicken and waffles I have had. I thought about it though, I should have gotten a wee more bit of syrup though. The waffle was cooked perfectly, and so was the chicken. My buddy even told me they were te best chicken tenders he has had– cooked and battered well. Needless to say, it was clean tasting. The home fries where alright, but honestly, I didn’t need them after the big plate of chicken and waffles. The fries were forgettable, but tolerable. I am glad I ran into this place, and so was my buddy. I will definitely have to return upon ever coming back home to visit. Oh yea, everyone I dealt with, seemed to be friendly– I had no issues with Shane(the server) and the other people we interacted with!

2nd and last chance for this place… Will NEVER return. Employees just don’t give a tinkers damn about doing their jobs. Wish I could give 0 stars, there was NOTHING good about tonight’s visit. Went tonight to give them a 2nd chance and they just proved us right. It’s Wednesday evening, there are only 3 other tables seated in the whole restaurant. Stood at the hostess stand for a full 5 min, one server walked by without even acknowledging our existence. Eventually an employee came to seat us and take our drink order. He came right back with the cokes and then we never saw him again. We sat drinking our cokes for 20 min, the dude was just gone. All the staff were in the kitchen(we could see them) laughing and having a grand ol time while we were getting closer and closer to being late for our movie(and starving). We just left $ 6 for the cokes on the table and walked out, no one noticed. Whoever owns this place needs to take a look at how empty their joint is when all the other food places In Avalon are bursting at the seams.

We went in for lunch on a cold day while doing some holiday shopping. The food was hit or miss and the menu was a bit uninspired, however their Cobb Salad was superb and I love a good Cobb salad so I am likely to come back for that alone. Here’s what we had. Chicken Liver app: This is a chicken salad but made with chicken liver instead of chicken breast or thigh. I did not expect this at all and it didn’t really taste like liver. For that reason alone I was terribly disappointed. I sort of expected the chicken liver app to taste like chicken liver. That said, if you like chicken salad, which I do, and you like chicken liver, which I do, it is actually quite good. Cheddar Biscuit: This was really quite good. Flavorful with great texture. California Club: The chicken was incredibly dry. This along with the bread kind of ruined this sandwich. I really would recommend trying something else. Cobb Salad: This is a really great Cobb salad, one of the best in the area. 1. The size is reasonable, a common problem with Cobb salads and me is that they are just too large, this one is small enough to be manageable and still filling(I’m not a light eater, just look at my picture, so believe me when I say it’s filling it might still be too big for some people). Pickled Beets and Goat Cheese: My husband and I both ordered this as it sounded so good and it lived up to our expectations a hundred times over. The beets are so good you really don’t need the goat cheese but I mean, I’m not saying no to goat cheese. Overall, this is a great addition to Avalon and I’m likely to return for the Cobb salad and maybe to try their rotisserie chickens and duck fat fries.
