Staff here is so pleasant. The food is great. Great place to sit down and have a good tasting burger. The herb fries are a must. The pricing isn’t too over the top, especially for being in the Avalon area. All in all a great casual dining experience.

This place is very disappointing. As others mention you have to order at the front. Then you are given your drink cups to get a beverage at the self serve drink dispenser and then sit at an open table. We then had a «waiter» come by and check if our order was correct and then left. Took awhile to get our food, but a 2nd person(Not our waiter) brought us our burgers. I got the southwestern burger and a side salad. the burger was the same that you get at any gourmet burger place and the side salad was tasty but was about 3 – 4 bites for 3 bucks. Once we finished our meal the waiter came back with a check and of course it had a tip line. I find other places like Farm Burger, Village Burger, EVEN BurgerFi to be a better experiences.

HERBFRIES are so delicious. Can’t get a burger here without these herb fries. I think there’s garlic, parsley, and a ton of other spices that I can’t distinguish but they are worth every fry. Comes with two dips, a ketchup and an aioli that I LOVE. BOCADOSTACK It’s not a crazy large stack and I can finish a burger by myself. The burger itself is very juicy and delicious. ROOTBEERVANILLASOFTSERVESHAKE Root beer float essentially and it was so very creamy and delicious. This location is in Avalon, but has it’s own parking area and sits apart from the actual Avalon stores. Décor and building are super cool and nice. They have garage door windows/doors that open up to a Bocce ball court during warmer weather. Love that concept.

I can see this place becoming a burger-addict’s retreat. *ahem* I usually order beef with grilled onions, mushroom and oh my gawd. Goat cheese spread. It’s an amazing combination! Their fries, however, are too greasy and not as crispy as I would like them — hence, the 4 stars. I see myself a regular here but only to devour their burger, not their fries.

This was our first visit so we were not familiar with the ordering process, which we found strange. After placing our order the lady told us about their specials, that’s right, after we had placed our order. We took a table, and the waiter found us repeated our order to us then left, not sure why he did that, but ok. The food came, I had the south western with fries, my wife had Swiss mushroom with salad. The burgers were ok, but honestly the price did not match what you get. I think the next time I’m in the area for a burger I will stop at one of the other places, I did not anything here that I had to have again.

I would rather go to Farm Burger. The food was good. I had BLT burger and fries. No complaints with the food but the service I’m expected to tip for. I tipped my «server» but I’m not even sure why I tipped him? I ordered my burger like I was at McDonalds. Then I sat myself down and filled my own cups up at the fountain. The server brought my food out. That is it. Oh, and he also brought the check at the end. I got my own beverages… I refilled them myself. Even though the food was good, I probably wouldn’t go back because I feel it’s weird tipping someone who does nothing but bring me my food. I’d rather go to Farm Burger where I can pay when I order my food and I’m not expected to tip.

First time at Bocado Burger and had a very good experience. I split a Bocado Burger Stack. And herb fries. Both were excellent. The burger was cooked perfectly and the sweet pickles added a sweet taste. With only mayo on the burger the beef and cheese Flavors really come alive. The fries were excellent as well. The only reason that I did not give a 5 star rating was because the fry portion was a bit small. The value was missing.

This is my first visit to Bocado Burger. I really like the food. Everything is fresh. It is a farm to table restaurant. The beef is moist and juicy. The sesame seed buns are so soft.(They are made daily). The Herb fries are my favorite. They are seasoned well and very tasty! I love fresh cut potatoes! Of course I got a thick and creamy milkshake.(Yes, I still eat milkshakes in 30 degree weather.) The atmosphere is casual. You can come here for lunch dinner, alone or with friends. It is also kid friendly. I look forward to my next visit. I am ready for another burger!

Service NOT good! Their process is broken! But, the burger is good! They have the worst goofy process to serve you. This is what happens: 1) You order at the register 2) They give you a cup to fill YOUR own beverage 3) The waiter comes to our table only to confirm what we ordered — WTF did I just do 60 second prior when the person at the register regurgitated the order before hitting ‘OK”!!! 4) You are lucky if you get offered a refill. 5) They give you a check so you pay the waiter! Come on! Get it together. The bill was about $ 30 for two Bocado Burgers, two fries and two cokes. I can’t see tipping 15−20% for this type of service.

I love love the {BURGER} here it’s absolutely great but I do have to say the ordering process seems a little silly. You order at the counter but you don’t pay there, then a server comes to your table to repeat your order and then serves you your food. Then you pay the server. I assume this is to insure the servers are tipped but it would be better to either 1. order and pay a server at your table or 2. order and pay at the register.

We wanted to try something close to home and a place we havent tried at Avalon. When we walked in we were properly greeted with menus, told to pick what we want then walk over to the register And order. After some deliberation, I decided on the turkey burger. We walk up to the register and proceed with our order(to the same girl that handed us menus) and she says they are out of turkey. Wtf. Why wouldn’t you mention that when handing out the menus? I decided on the chicken sandwich and my husband ordered a burger with bacon and blue cheese. He said the blue cheese was quite pungent and my chicken sandwich had more dressing and slaw than chicken. I don’t see us returning here at all.

I was really looking forward to eating here and was heavily disappointed. It doesn’t seem organized. We ordered at a register, were given a number to take back to our table, and were given cups to get our drinks. So we did that. Then food was served, but our table was bare. No utensils, napkins, or condiments. In fact, they weren’t in sight so I don’t know how one would get them. Our server didn’t check on us much. If you wanted a drink to be refilled, you had to do it yourself. My friend asked for a to-go box, but that was not given so she had to get up and get it herself. I have the full capability of helping myself to getting my own drink and utensils, but what makes me mad is when we were given the bill, there is a spot to leave a tip which is funny because we barely had service. And now let’s talk about the food. I had the mushroom and swiss burger. It was ok. Not as mind-blasting as my other Bocado burger off of Howell Mill. The meat didn’t taste as good. I ordered the garlic fries, but I had a good amount of crumbs as fries. If you want a Bocado burger, go to the Howell Mill location and stay away from this one.

Their burger is as good as the other Bocado, but they try to overcharge for their sides. Be careful when you order a salad or kale salad with your burger. They were suppose to charge $ 3, but they charged $ 5. When I brought it to his attention he said that he would check. He came back and said that it was $ 5. I happened to double check on the way out and sure enough it should have been $ 3. I said something and they took so long. Finally he said here is $ 2, but it should have been a $ 1.91 difference. Actually it should have been $ 2 plus tax, but just happened to get out. There must be better place at Avalon.

I really did not enjoy this place. You wait in line to order your food, which makes you think it is going to be a quick meal like Burger Fi or Smash Burger. We sat down and waited about 30 minutes for our burgers to arrive. The fries were not hot, the burgers were just ok. The salad was not very good and wilty. On top of this, I am gluten free and something in the food(I had the GF bun) made me feel so sick the rest of the day. You pay at your table(which I thought was really weird), and have a server that brings your food, napkins etc. Including tip these 2 burgers with sides and 2 sodas was $ 40! Very pricy for a slow, inconvenient meal.

This is a cool place! It is in Avalon but sits up front on the property so you can actually park in Bocado’s lot or walk down from Avalon proper. The evening we visited they had live music, a very talented woman with a gorgeous voice(of which I am SO envious! I am utterly talentless!) When we walked in we were almost immediately greeted by a perky young lady who explained the ordering process to us(basically you order at the counter and they bring food to you). Burgers and sides were great and so was the atmosphere. They have many options for your burgers so you can be as creative as you’d like. The menu is not as extensive as The Counter but you won’t pay $ 50 for 2 burgers either. Bocado’s is slightly less expensive than The Counter but has more of an upscale vibe(think a cross between The Counter and Ted’s). There is a large outdoor seating area that I look forward to enjoying when it is warm again. I’m already thinking about a return visit, it was so nice to go and be treated well by the staff, eat good food and listen to live music.

Main reason for low review is the price of food for what you get. My husband and I got 2 burgers, 2 fries and 2 drinks and our total was $ 38 before tip — yes, a TIP! The restaurant service model has you stand and order your food at the register, then take a # and sit at a table while they prep and bring out your food. Your«server» checks on you and brings refills. The frustration here is that it’s a «sort of» restaurant but self serve too(our 1st round drinks(tea & soda) we got ourselves at the public drink dispenser(like at any fast food/casual dining). Then to expect a tip and bring you the check like a full service restaurant is ridiculous. We should have just gone to a nice, sit down restaurant(a real restaurant) instead of spending so much for burgers at a «double dipping» lazy establishment. Order your food like at a Burger King, get your drinks from a dispenser like at a Burger King, pay $ 40 for 2 burgers, and then tip your«server.» Never again. Food wise, the draw of fresh, local ingredients and more unique burger add in options was outweighed by cost and mediocre flavor for the $ 40.

I’m not a big fan of Avalon(I find the shops to be over-priced), but a friend raved about Bocado Burger and typically I would have just smiled with no intention of checking it out myself. However, she said there’s a middle area outside where the kids can play while you eat. What the what?!? Seriously? My kids can play while I eat, and it’s not a fast-food place? I was intreagued and decided to check it out. I went right when they opened at 11am. It’s always best to beat the crowd when you’ve got kids with you. You go to the register and order, I paid there and went to my seat(we picked to sit outside). I was happy to see that the menu looked awesome– not over-priced like everything else typically is at Avalon. They’ve got tillamook cheese and I was immediately excited. I ordered the double stack(comes naked, so anything you want on your burger has to be told you want it). I got mayo, ketchup, mustard, lettuce, tomato, pickles, and of course, cheese. I added regular fries and a drink and my whole lunch with tip was under $ 15. Not only was the outside area awesome for letting my two-year-old play while I waited for our lunch, but the burger was, hands-down, THE best burger I’ve ever had. It was HUGE and I removed one of the two parties so I could bite into it, but the flavors all meshed together to create a taste explosion in my mouth. So. Good. I definitely recommend Bocado Burger for families with smaller kids, and I’m thrilled to know that I have a delicious place I can go with my youngster and it’s not a fast food joint! The only thing I didn’t like was the price of the kids meals($ 6). My son doesn’t eat a lot, so if you’ve got a tiny one that doesn’t eat a lot too, you’re better off bringing something from home, or having them share off your plate.

So. I’ve been here twice now and feel comfortable enough to write a review. Bocado is a nice, trendy sit-down restaurant in West Atlanta. They are consistently nominated for having one of the best burgers in Atlanta. And now we have Bocado Burger Bar, which is pretty much a burger joint. In addition to their famous Bocado Stack burger, they have a few other burger and sandwich options on the menu as well as some salads. There is also a bar with a decent selection of bottled beers and a few on tap. The restaurant is fairly big. There’s a large indoor seating area as well as an outdoor area with picnic tables. During nice weather they open up the indoor seating area by rolling up a couple of big doors. I’ve only come for lunch. Between 11 and 1130am there really isn’t much of a line. Get there at 12 and you’ll be waiting about 15−20mins to order and get your food. Ordering is simple. Pick up a menu, place order at register, sit down and wait for food to come out. You can chose from several pre-made burgers or you can customize and make your own. You can also chose a veggie or turkey pattie if you’re not into beef. I’ve had the Bocado Stack(the burger they’re known for) and the Dixie Stack. The Bocado stack was a really good burger. It has two slices of american cheese, mayo, and b&b pickles. I actually think it taste better than the one at the Bocado restaurant. The Dixie Stack wasn’t bad. It has a fried green tomato and pimento cheese. I wasn’t completely blown away by the toppings but the burger was still well made. The french fries are amazing. I’ve also had an order of the sweet potato fries which are good, but don’t compare to the fries. Chocolate milkshake is absolutely banging. It could be a little less thick, but it wasn’t so thick where I had to eat it with a spoon; could still suck it up with a straw. They give you quite a bit. Another good option in Avalon. I’m sure I’ll be coming back.
