I think these folks are closed. Phone answers as «not in service» and sign on front door says they’re closed for renovation. Thus, I think they’re gone.

I’ve done both lunch(it was completely dead) and dinner(on a friday night… YIKES) at this joint. It’s frankly not my crowd. I can’t even enjoy it because of this fact. I can’t even believe it’s by the same people who did Slice(I loved that place). Now I don’t know if it was a cowboy convention or what, but the Friday night I went they were blasting country tunes(NOTIRISH music what the!!!) and it was literally sardined with flannel shirts and cowboy hats to the point i had to squeeze past each to get to our table & once we were there, forget about being able to hear what anyone was saying… not happening. The quiet lunch I had previously wasn’t even good as far as the food goes, and while I stuck out the noise that night and tolerated the shenanigans, I would have much rather been to a TRUE«authentic Irish Pub»… Sorry this one just doesn’t even pass for me. And frankly the noise was so loud and the food was so lacking that I can’t even remember what I ate! I used to go to this old hole in the wall Irish eatery(Drowsy Maggie’s) in San Diego & as dirty as that place was, they had really wonderful Irish folk bands come in and play lovely music with decent foods and drinks, so I just can’t go and give the thumbs up to an «Irish Pub» because it’s close. I’m going to give the tilted kilt a whirl now that it’s here, but it’s a chain and I don’t have the highest hopes for an authentic feel… do yourself a favour and drive a bit further to Milton and go to Olde Blind Dog as it’s so much better alternative to Durty Kelly’s.

I’ve driven past this place on many occasions and always wondered what it was like. I’ve had friends tell me it was a good time, but the set up was strange. Well, last Friday I decided to check it out myself. It’s a shot gun style place that’s divided into two sections. One for the long bar, the other for the seating area. The front of the house is ½ pool table and ½ place for a band. Lucky for us there was a great band playing everything from modern rock to country. The bar area was busy, but there were plenty of seats available on the other side. We lucked out and got the front table so we could see the band(and also the silliness of the pool players… think flirty 40 somethings hanging all over each other). The atmosphere was energetic and knew we were in for a good time. The evening was nice so after a couple of drinks we made it out to the patio. There were more tables and even a corn hole game. This will definitely be on my list of places to go here in the ‘burbs!

As a general rule, I only go to places that are awesome, because I am awesome. Its on Wikipedia, which means its true, check it out. Ive driven past Durty Kelly’s quite a few times, and decided that finally I would check it out. Now being an Irish Public House, I was hoping for more Soccer flair around. Not so much, but the atmosphere is pretty rocking in here. I came in and hung out with all the hung over people of Alpharetta, and enjoyed some extremely delicious sliders and fries. The sliders were perfect, not too big, but not too small. I hate getting sliders and they are almost the size of a normal burger. These two were perfect. And they tasted awesome. The fries could have used some seasoning but Im not going to worry too much about that. I would love to see this place on a weekend night and see how busy it gets and the atmosphere then. #Yelp36522⁄365

Went here on Tuesday for lunch with my coworkers and thus far, have not been disappointed with the service nor the food. As soon as you walk in, on your left is a giant size leprechaun smiling away. It kinda freaked me out at the beginning but I got used to him. I must say… they’re constantly changing the looks of their menu. One week would be paper menu and the next would be in a super thick expensive looking book. Good thing they still keep some of my favorite dishes on there! So I’ve tried their Guinness Pie, Boxty Rolls, Corn Beef and Cabbage, Fish and Chips, and Beer Battered Onion Rings. Everything was delicious. The Guinness Pie has a big chunk of puff pastry in the center of the bowl and underneath it, is full of beefy goodness flavored with a hint of Guinness. The Corn Beef and Cabbage has to be my comfort dish that I always come back to. As much as I wanted to try everything else, I still always crave that corn beef taste. They make their own corn beef so it definitely has a fresher homey taste to it. I have to admit, this is the first time I’ve had it done this way — almost like eating a thick soup. It’s normally served very dry on a plate either shaved or sliced thinly. At Kelley’s, they’re cut into thick chunks, which is awesome. The cabbage is nice and soft with some texture along with the potatoes and carrots. Fish and Chips are so good with a bottle of HP sauce. Let me tell you about this amazing brown sauce that has really changed my palate. It has a malt vinegar base blended with tomato, dates, tamarind extract, and different spices. I couldn’t go back to eating Fish and Chips with plain ketchup no more. The tamarind is what got me addicted to it. I love tamarind because of their flavor-able tartness. Good stuff… so good… the HP sauce left with me. :X We never had any bad services at all so there isn’t anything to complain about. Great lunch spot and the prices are fairly reasonable. It’ll fill you up, make you happy and it won’t break your pocket, even if you wanted some of their hot gooey bread pudding for dessert. :)

At first, I wasn’t really excited about this place, but the bf wanted to go so I decided to give it a try… and I’m glad I did. It’s nothing out of the ordinary, but their irish entrees are really good, the perfect comfort food, specially in a chilly day. I had the Guinness and meat dish and it was delicious, specially with the bread they top it with. I would definately go back for seconds :)

Since i don’t eat beef or pork I didn’t have much to choose from I got the fish N chips which was ok. But they do get 5 stars cause you can get WASTED in this place.

We usually stop in for the Tuesday night special. But have now started coming in for lunch. Very good Irish pub for the Alpharetta area with a good menu. Try a Guinness with a pub egg, shepherd’s pie, corn beef and cabbage or my personal favorite Bangers and Mash. Much more grown up clientèle than Millers and if you become a regular the owner will chat you up.

I am really not impressed with this place. My friends and neighbors love this spot but I have yet to figure out why. The food is average at best and every time I see someone in my party eat, I can’t help but think they want to serve drunks more than food since they are very quick to offer you another round but not so quick to grab the things needed for an enjoyable meal, if average food is enjoyable. I guess bar food tastes better after a few rounds. Ok, off my soap box. Seriously, when I have been seated at tables, we get good service but there have been times when I have been at the bar when I have literally had to flag one of the 10 bartenders down to get another round after my glass had been empty for quite sometime(that time it was not that busy). I just really struggle to give this place a good rating. The layout is awkward, it’s loud and not a very fun vibe. Hey, I’ll go back, if you’re buying.

Any time I travel and have time to eat out, I look for an Irish Pub. I want good food and beer. Durty Kelly’s did not disappoint at all! Since I’m a frequent solo business traveler some restaurants just wanna throw you in the bar and forget about you, not this place. I strolled up to the bar and ordered a Guinness. I am a huge Guinness fan and I always look to see if they pour a «Perfect Pint.» They absolutely do, but it’s not a pint, its a gargantuan 20 ounce glass. Poured correctly and at the proper temperature. Asked the bartender how the Corned beef and cabbage was, and of course she said good, she then said that they cure it in house too. Interesting. It was awesome. Tender and flavorful, served with some sort of gravy on top which was outstanding. The vegetables were crisp and fresh not some mushy slop. Even had some guy doing some acoustical guitar work, added to the ambiance. I’ve been to a lot of pubs in my day, and I would definitely go here again. Give it a shot.

It’s an Irish pub! It’s perfect. The food was wicked good! I met a friend of mine there to grab some eats and a drink or 2. We had the corned beef appetizer… the corned beef was perfect. It was so good I had to order the corned beef sandwich. Absolutely awesome. The bartender was a bit slow and not so attentive to getting us all our drinks on time, but it wasn’t a huge deal. Of course drinks were great. They’ve got blue cheese olives. So I ordered my favorite drink, Bombay Sapphire on the rocks with blue cheese olives. I recommend it to anyone looking for good food and an Irish pub.

My girlfriend and I were seeking a place with live music on Saturday night. Thanks to Unilocal,we found Durty Kelly’s which was featuring a live band that night. The music was tolerable — fairly typical suburban cover band with better-than-average musicianship. Durty Kelly’s itself was a little less tolerable. It’s sort of like an Irish-themed Applebee’s with worse food and warm beer. My girlfriend had a tasteless grilled chicken sandwich that was very dry. It came with some very good french fries that looked to be be hand-cut. The only problem with the otherwise quite good fries was that Durty Kelly’s puts Sysco brand House Recipe ketchup on the tables. I take this to be a sign about how much they care about how the food tastes. They just don’t care. This isn’t a review of House Recipe ketchup, but I want to make the point that it’s cheap and tastes like absolute crap. I’ll need to work on the appropriate adjectives to describe this nasty ketchup-like substance some day. Let it suffice to say that the disgusting ketchup ruined the fries. I had a combination of «hot» wings and barbecue wings, featuring the house’s Guinness barbecue sauce. The hot wings weren’t hot. The barbecue sauce was somewhat tasty, but the wings overall were soggy and disappointing. I ordered blue cheese with the wings. I couldn’t really tell what the cream crap(crap must be my word of the day) in the little sauce container was, although it didn’t seem to be blue cheese. I’m guessing it was a completely tasteless ranch. The worst part of the entire experience, however, was the beer that I was served. Since it was an «Irish pub», I felt compelled to have a Guinness, and I ordered a half and half. I am hopeful that Durty Kellly’s was trying to give me an authentic Irish experience by serving me a warm, flat beer. Since, however, everything else about the place was so lame, I’m guessing that the beer was just warm and flat for no particular reason. Durty Kelly’s wasn’t horrible, but it sure wasn’t good. I certainly won’t be going back for an encore. PS — Quit putting that crappy Sysco ketchup on the tables and get yourselves some Heinz. At least then you can hide the taste of your food behind the decent flavor of a condiment. Oh, and make your beer cold — especially in the summer.

$ 5 – 6 for lunch portions of Irish favorites make for a great«comfort food» lunch on a dreary January day. Bucking the trend, I went with the corned beef and cabbage instead of the shepherd’s pie.(I don’t really like mashed potatoes(texturally), so I’m usually not a big shepherd’s pie person anyway). According to the menu, the beef is house-cured, and you could taste the freshness in the texture. The $ 5 portion was definitely big enough and filling enough, particularly when you consider that the majority was beef. Sure, there was a little cabbage, and it was quite tasty, but 2⁄3 of the bowl was yummy corned beef with some kind of creamy white sauce on top. I hadn’t remembered that from the menu description(since I would have asked for it on the side), but it was light enough that it didn’t overpower the rest of the dish. The service was friendly, attentive with the waters, and very fast with the food — which was to be expected since we were the only ones in the place. Thanks to Stacy G for the UYE lunch, or I wouldn’t have found this place. It will definitely be a solid future lunch option when I’m actually in the office and when it’s cold outside.

$ 5 for a warm hearty lunch yay! I went to Durty Kelly’s yesterday(a rainy/dreary day) to meet up with some fellow Unilocalers~ half of us followed the advice of the waitress and Stacy G and ordered the shepard’s pie. For $ 5 you get a generous portion of golden brown crusted mashed potatoes on top of a ground beef, peas, and carrots~ I’ve never had shepard’s pie aside from the trader joe’s kind, which i won’t count as real shepard’s pie. So, my first experience with it was good~ it was the perfect meal for a dreary wet day. Thanks stacy G for organizing the lunch!

We just had lunch at Durty Kelly’s and have been there for dinner and music a couple of times since they opened last winter. The place has a warm appeal and some really good touches. DK has a nice lunch menu with half portions available. We had the bangars and mash and the cod sandwich. The cod seemed really fresh and perfectly cooked, however the fries could have been more crispy. The b&m had caramelized onions and a nice sauce but I have had tastier sausages. I ordered the half portion and they served it in a bowl that was almost completely full. This was problematic. When I dug into this, I had difficulty cutting my sausages into bite sized portions inside the bowl without displacing other sausages or onions onto the table. General conversation around the bar indicated that everybody was happy with their meal today. Did I mention the $ 3 drafts all day on Tuesday!!! When DK opened, they were very supportive of Irish musicians in the area. These days, not so much which is disappointing. Perhaps they have decided that there is only room for one real Irish pub in the Alpharetta/Milton area and that is Olde Blind Dog! Too bad.

An authentic Irish Pub, the atmosphere is lively and the décor suggest generations of patronage with pictures, mirrors, bric-à-brac loaded shelves, salvage pieces and stained glass. The auspicious menu is worthy of a Dublin or Kilkerry Public House, the presentations picturesque, the flavor most pleasing and commendatory. Christi provided service with a smile and a pleasant demeanor. The prices are comparable with the portions served and it is here that you find more value in flavor, service, and revelry. There were a few kids there but they weren’t running rampant in the aisles and it was early. The band was slated to start at 9pm but we had not planned for that in our evening. The place isn’t that big and is probably more suited for live acoustic music but they seem intent on being a full band live venue. We look forward to a return visit soon and hopefully will have a chance to take in some live music next time!!!

«Do you want the lunch size portion, or the regular size?» So I thought to myself and pondered how hungry I really was. It was cold and wet outside, and a generous portion of shepherd’s pie was predestined to be in my belly. So I decided to man up and order the regular size. Oh my. Purists might have a problem with the ground beef in this thing. But that didn’t bother me too much. This grub was beautiful. Nice golden brown mashed potatoes covered what was basically a medium sized casserole dish. It could feed a family, but it was all for me! Mwahaha! I tried my best to finish it off, but after a while, I felt like I was on the man versus food show. I cried uncle with three or four bites left. But it was delicious, the best shepherd’s pie I’ve had in a very long time. I’ll be back when I have another hankering for serious comfort food. I took a short break from inhaling my sheperd’s pie to try my wife’s fish and chips. Pretty good stuff made with beer battered cod. Also comes in sandwich form. I can’t comment on the night life here, or the bar. We were there for lunch, and I was impressed. The lunch menu had enough variety to keep me interested for several visits. They spent a lot of time and money on décor. I thought it was pretty cool, with a lot of little nooks and crannies in which to get lost. The entrance to the restaurant is on the side of the strip mall, which made us look rather stupid trying to get in. I like to think we were not the first to have this happen, right? Hopefully I won’t look so dumb on my next visit.

One of the best in the burbs… which is good for me but not saying much overall. Good draft menu and great pub food. A bit too pricey but it’s Alpharetta… so i guess it’s a good biz model. Atmosphere is a bit to ‘feaux’ for my taste. If you are thinking here or Olde Blind Dog Irish Pub — come here for the food. Go there for atmosphere. Beer is pretty much the same, little pricier at Olde Blind Dog. Worth a visit.

I struggled with the rating on this one. It’s definitely worth a stop in. It’s better than a 3-star, but 4-star is probably pushing it. One 4-star aspect of Durty Kelly’s was the food. I had a Ribeye steak with grilled asparagus and artichoke bread pudding if I remember correctly. Yummy. The interior is nice, their are a few quirks that annoy me, but it’s definitely interesting enough. The crowd seemed to start at 40 and go up from there. Most seemed to be ex-home builders. Decent selection of beer but I would like to see more imports. The guys working the bar could definitely be a little more attentive. Person next to me commented that he and another guy each have had a couple more drinks if the bartenders had been on their A-Game. I concur.
