Ordered for pickup without looking at a map first but was worth the trek. We ordered ropa vieja and picadillo. Although both were a bit on the greasy side, the flavor was spot on. Each dish came with the usual rice, black beans and plantains. Only thing missing was some Cuban bread. Very solid dinner!

Food is great. I always do take out because I really don’t like the ambience of this place. It needs a good cleaning but the food is very tasty.

I don’t know much about Cuban food except for Cuban sandwiches, but I know when food tastes good! Finally decided to check this place out because I often frequent Uptown Café next door for breakfast. I tried the beef empanadas, which were fluffy pastries stuffed with seasoned ground beef. They were really nice, but larger than I expected for appetizers so they would be better to share. I tried their trio combo in which you can select any three prepared meats. The flank stank and the pork chunks were my favorite on the plate. I will definitely be back to try some other dishes and of course the Cuban sandwich. Service was pleasant and I was waited on by a really sweet waitress named Savannah… so that was an added bonus to the experience. ;)

Went to try out the yuca fries and pork chops. Wow they are fabulous. The pork is so tender I don’t even need a knife.

Good quick local Cuban food on the edge of Johns Creek and Roswell. Solid Cuban sandwich, friendly staff, and quick service.

One of our go to spots in the neighborhood. Good Cuban food, good value, seldom too crowded. Service is prompt and attentive. My wife is Cuban and we ate there with a couple of Cuban friends last night and had a good experience with compliments all around. I had the Masas De Cerdo(Deep fried pork chunks over onion) the Lechon was also tasty. Best advice, if you don’t like Cuban food don’t go, and while I’ve had better in Miami and at my mother-in-law ‘s table it’s a good experience.

Don’t know where the bad review people are used to eating, but I had dinner tonight with my REALLY picky wife and kids and left with my kids begging to come back. EVERYTHING we had was AWESOME. We’ll be making this a go to place. I love Cuban food and this place did not disappoint.

This is an excellent restaurant. We had empanadas and plantains for appetizers. The Cuban sandwich was awesome. Great service too, and nice atmosphere.

AWFUL service! I love cuban sandwiches, this one was okay not great– should invest in a really potato french fry maker. Potatoes are very inexpensive to purchase and a significant sandwich and fries would have been more impressive for a first impression. Presentation was like a fast food restaurant, sandwich was a little greasy and the fries nearly slipped off the plate when slid on the table. Very disappointing will not be back.

Relentlessly flavorful food! Ropa Vieja and vaca frita combo, with black beans and tostones. I have enough for a good breakfast. Yum!

Wow, this place pleasantly surprised me. I ordered the beef empanadas and the Lechon Asada. Both were absolutely delicious! I seriously have not had Cuban food this good since I lived in South Florida. The filling in the empanadas was perfect and the sauce that comes with it is really good. I also got a side of the jalapeño relish/salsa and it tasted very good on the empanadas. The pork was lean and flavorful. Even the beans, which at some places can be very bland, were incredibly flavorful! The only reason I didn’t give 5 stars is because of the styrofoam takeout containers. They have the tendency of melting when hot food is placed into them. The empanadas did melt the styrofoam a bit… Otherwise, it is the best Cuban food around. I will definitely be returning very soon.

I’m not sure where the 4-star rating on Unilocal came from because there is nothing 4-star about this place. Is the food 4-star quality? no Is the service 4-star? no 4-star value? no Atmosphere /décor? no We thought it was over-priced and poor-to-moderate quality with sort of a junky mexican restaurant atmosphere and disjointed service. The skirt steak was like shoe leather, and the«medium-rare» was nothing short of WELLDONE. Did I mention that it wasn’t even hot when it hit the table? Ditto for the steak sandwich, and two others in my party rated the Cuban sandwich as «fair» but with lousy bread. The fried ice cream tasted like french vanilla covered with corn flakes, which even my 11-year old wouldn’t eat. Good tequila selection. Good, not great, mojitos. I’m no Cuban faire connoisseur, but I much prefer Mojito’s in Norcross for taste, atmosphere, and service.

Being from Miami, I have been trained to expect Excellent Cuban Food… Is not to say that you’ll not find good Cuban food outside Miami, but let’s be honest, nothing beats Miami Cuban food… Or that’s what I thought… I had gotten used to the idea that the version of Cuban food for some restaurants outside Miami was an over cooked, under seasoned version of Mexican Food… I was suffering from a SEVERE case of CFD(Cuban Food Deficiency) when I decided to try my luck at Mojito’s Café in John’s Creek. WOW!!! This place RULES…(Esta Barbaro!!) The service staff was very friendly and courteous and very willing to recommend the different options from their menu. I will recommend the Passion Fruit Mojito, for sure!!! I will not go into details into how the food was prepared… I’m not a food critic, but I will say this… Mojito’s Café serves the best Cuban Food in Atlanta!!! The well prepared and seasoned to taste«Picadillo» plate has my vote… But I also tried the«Vaca Frita» and had the«Media Noche» to go… And of course, I had the coffee named«Cortadito» to close my dining experience… I encourage you to SAVE on airplane fare, there’s no need to go down to Miami anymore(unless you are looking to get a tan!)… Go over to Mojito’s Café to have the best Cuban food that Atlanta has to offer.

Ordered mojito sample platter and mojito combination. The combination platter had some of the same food as the sample platter but, thankfully, it was really good. Presentation needs some work but the flavor was good.

I love this place. It’s been around since I was in elementary school and it’s just about two miles from my house. I love the food. There are few places that make me as happy as this little café does. The place has upbeat Cuban music playing constantly but it’s not annoying in the slightest. It’s welcomed and that’s saying a lot — I really hate most restaurants that have loud music playing but it’s very complementary here. It’s stupid but this is the only place I’ve found that carries a specific drink choice that never seems to run out of stock. It’s pineapple soda if you were wondering. :) the staff and owners are incredibly nice, attentive, and homely. The food is amazing. From the sips of sangria have had I think it’s safe to say that it’s pretty good too…

As a first generation Cuban American born and raised in Miami FL I have eaten an overwhelming amount of Cuban food. This is the best Cuban food I have found in Atlanta, period, end of story. It is very similar to what I’m used to eating at Cuban restaurants in Miami and makes me so very happy! Here’s what we got. Croquettas de jamon: These were what I expected them to be like. Not the best I’ve had in my whole life, but pretty darn good and very legit. Empanadas de Carne: These were perfect. Almost as good as my mom used to make them and certainly some of the best I’ve had in restaurants. The picadillo inside was fantastic and the dough perfection, just as I remember it tasting back in Miami/Mom’s house/Grandma’s house. Next time I go in I might just order the picadillo as a main dish. Hell, this comes with three empanadas which is enough to make it a main dish in and of itself. Sandwich Cubano: This was great! All the flavors where there and as expected. It was a bit more buttery than I’m used to, and with less meat than I see them come with in Miami, but it was still really a good, solid Cuban sandwich. Black Beans and Rice: Let’s start with the rice, it is fluffy and cooked with fat just like they do in the old school Cuban restaurants I grew up eating at. The beans are also amazing and when you mix it together, it’s as good as it’s gonna get outside my mom’s house. I would go back just for a plate of these. Lechon Asado: Not the best I’ve had, but good. The mojo is, in my opinion, not tangy enough and it tastes more stodgy than I am accustomed to. Still tasty, but I wouldn’t say it’s a great representation of what Cuban Lechon tastes like, at least not in my mind. Vaca Frita: This was a weird, dare I say, lazy man’s version of this dish. The flavor was right and the texture on the beef was what you’d expect, crunchy on the outside and stringy on the inside, but it wasn’t shredded. They leave the steak in one piece and put the onions on top. It also seemed to have no mojo. I’m very used to vaca frita having mojo in it so this was a wee bit of a disappointment. Still, it was delicious and tasted like vaca frita often does in restaurants. Maduros: Yes, I’m calling out the maduros, why? because most places mess these up big time and you are serves SOUR tasting maduros. Yuck and double yuck. These were perfect. Not sure if they use a bit of sugar or their plantains were just super ripe, but either way, they were awesome. Cortadito: As a warning, they are super old school here and put sugar in the coffee by default. Even most places in Miami have stopped doing this. I remember as a kid my dad had to order the coffee without sugar cuz he was a diabetic. It has now become standard in Miami for it to come without sugar but this place is die hard. It’s fantastic coffee, but if you don’t want it sweet, or want to control the sweetness, order it without sugar. Just make sure you order it. Tres Leches: This looked way traditional, I didn’t order it, my friend did and she has yet to eat it, but from the looks of it, it is legit. I will update this once she tells me how it is. Mojito: Just don’t order this. My friend got it and said it tasted like cough syrup. She is not the fussiest drinker and is fairly easy to please. So it’s probably safe to say, this is a pass.

Hrm… what to drink at a place called Mojito Café. Oooo-kay, you win. I had a Mojito… a pineapple-Mojito at that. It may have been a smidge sweet for my taste, but it was still very tasty nevertheless. Looking over the menu, my wife and I were like, «Oooh, empanadas! Oooh, croquettes! Oooh, papa rellena!» Damn, so many good appetizers. Oh, wait — freakin’ awesome! They have an appetizer sampler platter so we can try everything! Let’s do that instead of entrees. Soon enough, a massive sampler platter, complete with condiments(chimichurri, garlic oil, jalapeño relish, and some kind of sauce for our empanadas) was placed before us. Challenge accepted. Look at all of these starchy foods! We’ve got a stuffed potato(papa rellena), fried casava root(Yuca Frita), and plantain chips. Oh, and fried goodies — one beef and one chicken empanada, two croquettes, and fried chicken bites. We’ll also throw in some roasted pork with ground corn for good measure. The truth is, everything tasted ok, but none of it was memorable. I doubt I’ll be craving anything from that platter anytime soon. The chicken bites were eerily similar to Chik-Fil-A(but not quite as good), like a copycat recipe that they didn’t have down pat. The ground beef on top of the papa rellena reminded me of Taco Bell taco meat(which isn’t necessarily a good or bad thing). The ham and cheese croquettes delivered as advertised — hammy. The roasted pork was bland. The empanadas were ordinary. Maybe their entrees are better, I don’t know. Ultimately, if I’m in the mood for Cuban/Caribbean food, Armando’s Caribe in Duluth is still my go-to spot.

The food here was decent. I believe I tried one of the pork dishes. All entrees come with white rice, black beans, and fried plantains. The pork was succulent, not at all the dried plate I imagined I would be receiving. You can choose a chicken, pork, beef, or seafood entrée. The prices averaged about $ 11 ish a plate. There were definitely some dishes under $ 10 with some nearing $ 20. The restaurant was dimly lighted with festive décor. Let’s just say you will most definitely notice the fake palm trees when you enter.
