Was not impressed with this place. Simple homemade grilled cheese sandwich is better than the food I’ve got

It’s good but not awesome. I had the cheddar and bacon grilled cheese with a dipper sized tomato soup. The soup is great. The sandwich was great. What wasn’t great was the dining room. It is WAY too loud in there. The music was blasting so hard that I tried to eat as fast as possible so I could get out. The tables are nice but if you care for a window seat they offer a bar style counter by the window, with seats that were not very accommodating to my ba-donk-a-donk butt. I mean, I’m not huge, but I do have apparently too much rear to sit in that window seat. In fact any one with any rump at all should avoid the window seat. The staff was very friendly and courteous, the place was clean. I say if you eat there take your food outside so you can dine in peace and quiet with your butt in the seat.

Not everyone has the luxury of reading wikipedia length reviews, so let’s get to the point before the server gets back. [Time & Date of visit]: Usually late lunch, around 1pm. [Location/Ambiance]: Tucked into the middle of this little strip, luckily there’s always been plenty of parking. Outside patio seating, but rarely see anyone dining outside with Atlanta’s humidity. Inside — Aside from the big logo’s, the inside is more minimalist décor. Bright red walls stretching front to back. Veriety of seating if it’s 2 top, 4 in the booths, or singles at the counter facing outside the glass window. [Service]: Fast casual setup. All employees have been nice greeting you when you order to asking how things are after dropping off the food that is assigned to your number. [Food Highlights]: Turkey Pesto — Not lacking on the pesto, it’s a pretty comfy sandwich. I just wish there was tad more meat for the price they are charging. My taste buds feel that this does not pair well with the creamy basil tomato soup though. It’s pretty good by itself. Creamy Tomato Basil Soup — I’m not sure who you’re kidding if you just want to sample with the smallest cup size they have. Go ahead and upgrade to the next size up. It’s not the best tomato soup I ever had, but it’s pretty good that I think it’s better than Campbell soup at least. Goes great with a grilled cheese sandwich. [Total Bill w/tax] As a meal, including a fountain drink — came up to about $ 11. {Summary}: Kind of pricey comfort food to say the least I think. Some sandwiches don’t pair well with the tomato soups unless it’s more of the grilled cheddar cheese kinds. 3 stars because it’s ok, but not food-gasm when each bite tries to bring childhood nostalgia memories.

I had the Caprese salad. Absolutely the worst caprese salad I have ever had. Loads of greens and hardly ant tomatoes and cheese. A caprese salad does not have lettuce to begin with and Balslmic dressing taste like an old shoe. This is my third time at Tom Chee and my last time there. On my second visit there I ordered to go when I got back to work which is only a mile away the bread was all soggy. Would not reccomend this place at all.

I got the turkey pesto on wheat. It was just okay. Neither great nor bad. A little dry. Very greasy. I typically watch what I eat and felt very guilty after eating this.

I had my first Tom-Chee experience today and yes I will come back sometime. Very interesting types of grille cheese combinations on the menu?! I opted for the basic cheddar/swiss with bacon, a dippin cup of chunky tomato soup, salt & vinegar chips and a green-tea/lemonade mix to wash it down. My price was $ 9.02 out the door. I say good pricing for what I received, cooked to order, and hot. They have these donut grille cheese sandwiches, I am not sure how I feel about those quite yet? The establishment was very clean, kinda basic design and décor. They had a nice lunch crowd at 1pm today. Refills are free on drinks. TomChee has the SharkTank stamp of approval and there is definitely not another eatery around that offers such the selection of grille cheese sandwiches. They do offer about 5 types or bread and about 5 types of cheese selections. I say give em a try, good for kids as well as adults. I wish I could give 3.5 stars, I was not blown away but it was good

Tom+Chee is located near North Point mall and is very busy during lunch hours because of all the offices nearby. I ordered on the phone, before finding out they have an online ordering system. When I came to pick up my order I had to wait in a long line. They really should have a second cashier during lunch hours to keep the lines down… Once I got to the front I discovered they have daily soup specials that are not tomato based. I believe one option was chicken broccoli curry soup, which sounded amazing and I might have to order next time I visit. I actually am not a fan of grilled cheeses, so my order was a ‘build your own’ sandwich with wheatberry bread, pepper jack cheese, and lots of veggies. The order was ready when I got to the counter to pay. My total for the sandwich was $ 5.xx, which isn’t too bad for what looks like quality ingredients. The sandwich itself was delicious, especially the wheatberry bread. My friend got the actual creamy tomato soup and MacNCheese grilled cheese, both of which she enjoyed. I would order from here again if they had a quicker way to pick-up food and be on your way since that is my main concern when I leave work for lunch. Food is good and I would be willing to have a sit-down meal here because the interior is spacious and the dining furniture has a clean look to it.

Went last Saturday and had one of the worst service experiences of my life. 20 minutes in line to order plus 25 minute wait to get 3 grilled cheese sandwiches. And they got the order wrong. The people sitting on either side of us had the same experience: all 3 tables had wrong orders or missing food. Staff is clearly not trained and there didn’t seem to be a manager on duty. And the food you ask? Absolutely nothing special. You could make the exact same thing at home in 30 seconds for $ 0.50 instead of $ 5. Im not kidding. Just a plain old grilled cheese sandwich with a tomato slice. Don’t be fooled by the long lines thinking it’s because this place has reimagined grilled cheese sandwiches. They’re only long because this place is so poorly run.

I went here on my lunch break and this was my very 1st time here. I ordered a flying pig sandwich on a doughnut. The sandwich was too sweet and I asked for another sandwich to be made with regular breasd. The manager Kim tells me I NEEDTOPAYFORANOTHERSANDWICH!!! I have never been to a place of business before where I’ve been asked to BUY a another item if unhappy with my FOODPURCHASE. So to all that is ordering here, please make sure you’re happy with your food or else KIMTHEMANAGER will want you to pay AGAIN!!!

This Cincinnati supplant piqued my interest when fall faded and my desire for hot eats and steamy soups materialized. I ordered the daily special: The Phoenix Chee — and in a moment of weakness, ordered the double. You can also order a side of the dipper portion of soup for just $ 1 — a worthy investment. The sandwich was nearly perfect. The crispy sandwich bread held together the perfect complement of shredded chicken, pepperjack cheese, hot peppers and some hot sauce. It was a filling meal for lunch, satisfying in all the ways a grilled cheese and tomato soup should be. I’ll be looking forward to a return trip.

First ever visit. Family of 4. Kids wanted to try. Found an odd looking green color ink/particle/chunk in my chicken(as part of my salad). Asked staff and they said it was fine to eat. Emailed corporate, and they never even bothered to reply! I waited an entire 2 weeks for corporate to at least let me know they heard me. Radio silence. Won’t go there again.

I dream about the Broccoli Chicken Curry soup! It is just about as perfect as you can get. I have been trying to make it at home and can’t quite get it to be a delicious as this recipe. You won’t be disappointed by this soup!

My husband and I had gone to this restaurant soon after they opened and I don’t remember being very impressed. That might have had something to do with the long line of people and the restaurant still trying to get their staff trained and together. They were also out of Tomato Basil soup so that was a bummer. Yesterday, we both ordered delivery via GoWaiter/CitySpree for lunch and it was one of the best sandwiches I have had in a little while. My hubs ordered the Pep-Chee(double-decker) with the Tomato Basil Soup and I built my own sandwich(double-decker) with Roasted Chicken, Pesto, American and Cheddar Cheese, and Cherry Peppers on Hardy White Bread. Both of us were incredibly impressed and found the sandwiches to be so delicious! The soup is creamy and flavorful. We added a bit of pepper in ours, but we just like more pepper. I would suggest this place to anyone looking for a hearty sandwich and warm soup!

This place was really interesting! What restaurant do you know that specializes in creating the perfect grilled cheese sandwich?! I really recommend it for kids but adults would have fun customizing their own grilled cheese as well. They have so many options to choose from regarding types of cheeses and even types of bread. They have the standard grilled cheese, of course, or you can customize it. I had a grilled cheese and added chicken, onions, and mushrooms. It was packed with delicious goodness! I also had a side of tomato bisque. They offer three different sizes: a dipper size, small cup, or larger cup. I got the small cup which seemed like the perfect side. I wasn’t too impressed with the soup as I was the sandwich. I can imagine kids begging their parents to take them here. This is a great place for people of all ages to enjoy!

It was a dark and stormy night… I was feeling a little under the weather, pun definitely intended. My friends still tried to get me out to put some food in my belly. To make me feel better, we had to go for some comfort food. This location closes at the outrageously early hour of 8PM on a Saturday night. What. We got there around 7:20 pm and realized how little time we had to eat. The interior is huge, so you won’t have trouble finding a place to sit. Soup and grilled cheese, the ultimate American comfort food. Mama knows you don’t feel good? Pulls out a grilled cheese and tomato soup. God knows why, because a good grilled cheese sandwich is greasy as heck. Perfect for settling that nausea and upset stomach, such as, ahem, mine. The menu has an assortment of grilled cheese sandwiches, from the most basic, plain Jane grilled cheese to the fancy uplifted versions. You can also choose to make your own and customize the sandwich to your heart’s content. In addition to the grilled cheese sandwiches were the various tomato soup options. Chunky or creamy preference? That’s what I was feeling. I ended up ordering the classic Tom Chee grilled cheese sandwich with some chunky tomato soup. What a comfort to stuff myself with a greasy grilled cheese. I switched out the white bread for wheat berry(just tryin’ to be health conscious). After our meal, we realized we weren’t exactly stuffed, and we were itching to try the«world-famous» grilled cheese doughnuts. Per recommendation of our server, we got three and split them: The Special: alla King — this one was just too much. Full of fluffernutter and bacon, it was super rich and hard to swallow. Definitely not my favorite. The Classic: obviously the best one. You can never go wrong with a classic. It was just cheese on a glazed donut and it was GOOD. We asked the server, who mentioned that they get their donuts from an external producer, although it wasn’t Krispy Kreme. Smores: pretty darn good. I can’t say no to marshmallow and chocolate. Not as good as the Classic, but still a close second. Give Tom(ato) + Chee(se) a try. They made it to Shark Tank, let them make their way into your heart. And your belly.

As soon as you walk in, you’re hit with the warm tones of red and yellow. The décor and atmosphere of the restaurant and cute and inviting, bordering minimalistic but not extreme. Tom + Chee: Delicious. The bread was my favorite part. It was just perfectly toasted and crispy with the right amount of butter without being overwhelming. The cooked tomatoes paired nicely with the cheese giving it that fresh factor so that the overall sandwich isn’t too heavy. I recommend starting with this grilled cheese, if it is your first time going. Creamy tomato basil soup: Average. It tasted alright but nothing special. I could do without it. Normally, I would think twice about paying for grilled cheese and tomato soup when I can just make it for myself, but I really liked their sandwich and thought it was worth it. If I worked nearby, I would definitely come often.

Visited this place last Friday with a friend. For a grilled cheese place, it’s a pretty neat food joint. It’s not gourmet or fast food, somewhere in between. The concept is essentially a grilled cheese with various ingredients – make your own or choose from preselected ones. It’s a fusion between a grilled cheese and a sandwich sandwich I suppose. There was also a doughnut grilled cheese version. O0 Interesting… I know. I had the special of the day: rodeo chee with a cup of chicken pot pie soup as the soup of the day. My sandwich was a tad dry even though the BBQ sauce added some moisture. The bacon pieces in conjunction with the BBQ sauce made my sandwich dry and salty. :/It wasn’t too terrible, but it brought down my excitement level of this place. The chicken pot pie soup was okay, nothing too special. It was, however, overtly salty. My friend took a sample of it and immediately made a face. I mean. I did warn him beforehand, but I guess it was seriously very salty. I usually can withstand and prefer food with a good amount of sodium, but this soup was a tad too much. My friend had the BBQ + Chicken and the creamy tomato basil as the soup. His sandwich was a tad too too salty since it was loaded with a hoard of bacon. I ate the half we traded with each other as a late night sandwich so it wasn’t quite fresh though… The soup was quite plain, minus the saltiness. It is evident that this place uses a lot of sodium in their cooking. Parking was pretty plentiful since there were two levels to the parking area. Tom + Chee is near Guitar Center and Scottrade btw.

[TL;DR] I have been waiting, waiting, waiting for this place to open. I finally had the chance to try it and was a little disappointed. I was pretty stoked about this place because a grilled cheese sandwich w/tomatoes and tomato bisque is quite possibly one of my most favorite meals on earth. That might explain why we ended up with the following: The Tom+Chee Flying Pig w/a side of Mac + Chees Creamy Tomato Bisque Everything was decent. The big drawback for me is that everything was super greasy/buttery and not in a good way. Usually buttery invokes thoughts of crispy goodness. This was just… I dunno… soaked and damp. The ingredients in the sandwich were paired well and tasted good though. The tomato bisque was alright. Too tart and runny for my taste but would order it again. Probably. Mac + Chees — good. It’s a new location, new staff, etc. Might be little kinks to work out. I’ll wait until others go and report back before I try it again. I wasn’t adventurous enough to try the donut version. HOWTOREADMYREVIEWS: 1 Star — Not edible. 2 Stars — If I’m in the area, I’d pick something else. 3 Stars — I would stop by if I happen to be in the area. 4 Stars — I would pick this place out of other places nearby. 5 Stars — I would go out of my way to dine here.

Decided to eat here this evening after hearing about its opening earlier this month. We watched Shark Tank when the owners were on it and thought it was a cute idea. Well, this is what happens when a company gets too big too fast. We understood going in at dinner time would create a wait time which was fine but as we looked around at others waiting they didn’t seem pleased. It appeared that orders were coming out wrong or missing items. This was true for our order also. I ordered a build your own on white with Gouda, Brie, bacon, and Mac n cheese. When our food came out my sandwich was completely missing the Mac and cheese and when I opened it, the smallest slivers of cheese could be identified on the bread. These slivers were $ 2.00 and quite chincy for the cost. I asked the food delivery person about my incorrect order and she was very pleasant and quick to fix it. However, the Mac and cheese on the sandwiches is severely lacking cheese. It was oil and noodles. My husbands sandwich was the Mac and cheese sandwich from the menu and it was equally disappointing. The two stars is because of the incredible customer service provided tonight by the woman delivering food/expediting. She was pleasant to everyone and all of their requests during a busy night with multiple complaints. That’s hard to find. I can’t say that we will return as we make better sandwiches at home.
