Best food ever I love the tacos I rate it 5 stars and I have been here ever since I was a kid

Great atmosphere, the restaurant was very inviting and well b themed. The waitress was very nice and helpful in giving advice on different things on the menu. Their salsa is to die for absolutely outstanding, you cannot go there and not try it. They have have a nice selection of tequilas and a good sangria. Will definitely revisit soon.

To date this is the worst food we’ve had since we moved to Orlando. The reason for two stars instead of one is that the staff are very friendly and do a nice job. But you can’t overcome bland tasteless food, pre-​bagged chips, and queso that came out of a jar. Maybe we had a bad night but really don’t understand how this place got a foodie award based on its food.

Was dying for Mexican and there is zero viableTex Mex in Central Florida other than the mediocre PR’s. Sorry Chuy’s you ain’t all that. Liked the fact that this was a free standing building with a nice patio that can be utilized a few months a year if you desire to take your dog. The chips and salsa came out first and the chips were very good; thick, flavorful and not greasy. The salsa had a nice thickness, but a bland flavor that suggested they used less than ripe tomatoes. We asked for hot sauce and they didn’t seem to have any so they brought us an odd tasting side of green stuff and some other strange stuff that looked goldish in color. The green stuff helped the salsa out but it wasn’t good by any means. I ordered the Del Rio burrito largely in part because I am not a fan of refried beans and they don’t provide any on the side. So it’s basically a $ 12.79 free standing burrito. It has onion, tomato and queso over it with some lettuce and sour cream, standard guacamole, your choice of beans (I had black) and fajita meat. The entire thing was decent, but I kept eating and eating and saying to myself there is something missing. I was scratching my head and then it came to me: chicken. Seriously, there was about 2oz of chicken in this $ 12.79 burrito and I guarantee you I am being generous. No way you get that little amount of meat without it being done on purpose, so I would doubt it was a one time thing. I must not be the first customer shorted because it wasn’t very busy on Saturday night at 7:30PM.

If you are gluten free, this is a great place to come! Our server, Nikki, was very knowledgeable about their ingredients and made some great suggestions for me.

Having lived in the Orlando area for many years, Amigos was a regular stop for lunch or dinner. I’ve long since moved away, but it was really cool to see that Amigos is still an Orlando institution! It seems much has changed over the years, but there are still some great facets to this Mexican-​American gem.
The food — while there really isn’t such a thing as «upscale Mexican,» I think the food here is just about as good as you will get for Americanized Mexican cuisine. The flavors are great, there are tons of options, and the staff aren’t shy about letting you mix things up. The Carne Caliente has been a favorite of mine for years and years, and it was just as good on this visit!
The service — people are what makes the difference in any business, and Amigos is on top of it! We stopped in after a Sunday lunch rush and the staff were more than accommodating. Our server was super friendly and really on top of drinks and salsa, even making some recommendations to some of the others in our party.
The atmosphere — this particular Amigos is definitely due for a refresh. The building, tables, and chairs just don’t reflect the service and food. It’s not bad, don’t get me wrong, but some updated fixtures and a fresh, modern repaint would go a long way!
All in all, this trip to Amigos was just like all the other visits I remember. Next time we are through Orlando, we will definitely be back!

Love this place! Great restaraunt to eat at in the Altamonte Springs area, and it’s in a very convenient location. Great food that is made with love! I always enjoy my visits here and I would recommend it to anyone looking for a friendly environment and great food!

They should call this place caca mex. The food wasn’t made with love. The staff was so super friendly tho. We even had to hit up taco bell afterwards, wont be returning here again. The food was just mediocre. Sorry guys :/

The waitresses were very nice but it was the most bland Mexican food I’ve ever had. Not impressed.

I have been coming here for years. Great food, great prices, and a friendly staff! The Liberation Combination Platter is my favorite. Paired up with a few margarita’s, you won’t be disappointed.

Ok but needs some work ~ when we there we didn’t see anyone who seemed Mexican so maybe that’s what’s up? They need less MSG and more big flavor in the dishes we tried. For instance the rice was washed out, gummy, and had very little flavor. The service was good but with all the great Mexican places around, you need to step it up to compete.

I love this place! The service is so nice, they make you feel like family and always welcomed! The food is great. Not over or under cooked and not greasy like those main chain Tex-​mex places. I have been many times, first time checking in and writing a post but I think the deserve it. We always go with a large party and we always leave very satisfied!!! I see some bad review from a while ago, I will say my first time was a few months ago, so maybe they have gotten better. Give it another try! My family I always go with did say for a while they kind of lost it but they got it back, that’s why they took me;)

Food is an okay. They are very friendly, they have a nice salsa and chips, and they serve you very quick.

I went here for lunch with co-​workers today. I ordered the lunch chimichangas which came with two mini tortillas, rice and beans, and queso. When it says mini, it means mini. This review is bigger than those chimichangas. Nothing tasted particularly bad but it wasn’t good. Pitiful really. I would never come back. It’s not worth the money.

I have been to this Amigos location twice. I am sorry to say that I have been disappointed on both visits. On my last visit and probably will be my last visit, I ordered a margarita. It was probably the worst margarita I have ever had. it was just eh, for lack of a better word. My dinner was so uneventful, that I cannot remember what I ordered. The food looked good, but really lacked any characteristic flavors. in my opinion, this is what happens when you have Americans making Mexican food.
I Will continue to recommend El Potro in Winter Park. Mexican owned, Mexican run, food prepared by Mexicans, absolutely delightful. Sorry Amigos.

While I’ve heard rumors that Amigos was great back in the day, this has certainly not been my experience during my visits of the course of the past couple of years. Amigos is best described as «mehhh»… slightly better then Taco Bell, not heavy on your wallet, and sufficient to satisfy your monthly craving for Mexican food.
The restaurant itself is very dated, though they have a couple of newer-​ish flat screen tvs that constantly run sports center (okay so I bumped them a star for fulfilling my lunchtime sports update). Staff has always been friendly and prompt during my lunchtime visits. After being seated you are immediately presented with a basket of chips and small cup of salsa (not the best, but certainly something to snack on while awaiting your food). They offer 1 – 2 lunch specials a day for $ 5.99, ranging from the taco salad, tacos, tamale and several others. Most lunch meals come with beans and rice, again nothing special just average. While I have never boozed during lunchtime amigos is always promoting their various drink specials.
Overall — average to below average Mexican food served at an affordable price with a smile. Looking for great Mexican cuisine, check out los dos amigos or cocina… looking for a Mexican «taste» without emptying your wallet, check out Amigos!

The reason I ate here was because they’re dog friendly. They gave Lola a huge bowl of water.
We ordered combination fajitas for two. The steak was cooked perfectly at medium. The chicken wasn’t dry at all. The meat was over green peppers and grilled onions that had just a kick of spiciness. The salsa wasn’t spicy at all but was extremely flavorful.
This is a place worth trying again.

As a frequent visitor to Amigo’s, I must say by far they are my favorite tex mex restaurant. The food is outstanding, especially their homemade salsa and their queso. Service is amazing, as I’ve never had a problem with any of their servers.
If you’re looking for a Tex Amex restaurant with reasonable prices and amazing service, I definitely recommend this restaurant.

I’m struggling to find the positive things to say about this place, because I never like to leave negative rants about places I go to.
I’ll start off by saying that my boyfriend really enjoyed his BBQ chicken quesadilla… and ate the whole thing. Service was very prompt… and the waiters helped each other out as needed.
I ordered the cup of queso blanco which didn’t seem… quiet right. It tasted a little sweet, and maybe something you’d buy from the grocery store in a jar. Maybe I’m just spoiled by real queso blanco, like the one served at Cocina 214?
I ordered the grilled chicken, with broccoli and Spanish rice. I received chicken smothered with cheese, no broccoli, received beans and Spanish rice. I decided not to send it back and just try it with the cheese scraped off. The chicken was very tough and dry, like when you refrigerate chicken and then reheat it in the microwave. The refried beans had an odd taste to them as well… slightly soapy? The Spanish rice was really good, and I really enjoyed the size of the huge tortilla chips to dip in the salsa.
I used the bathroom and was horrified. That’s all I will say about the bathroom.
I will never come back here.

I ATE MY WEIGHT IN QUESO!
I have been coming to this restaurant for the last 15 years. Yes, the décor has not changed at all in that time and does look very dingy, but the food and service remain the same — great!
I ordered the Blanco Queso with chips and salsa and ate so much I barely had room for my entrée. I also had the Tulia Style Burritos — 2 bean burritos smothered in a red sauce with cheese, beans and rice on the side. It was delicious and filling, with left overs for lunch!
I also got the Strawberry Surprise for dessert, a fried tortilla stuffed with strawberries and whipped cream. It was so delicious.
I’ve read a lot of other reviews complaining about the service. My waitress was great, friendly and attentive.
Also — 2 for 1 drinks Wednesdays!
Side note: I despise spicy food, and have never gotten anything spicy here. If you like a kick be sure to ask for extra hot sauce.
