This is overrated and over priced salad bar This place is not worth your $$$$

Not the best sweet tomatoes experience I’ve had. A lot of the food in the salad bar didn’t seem super fresh, but I do always love their salads. The food at the other area was just all completely mislabeled which can really lead to issues. I hated that there was no fruit in the«fresh fruit» area. Generally, it was fine, as most Sweet Tomatoes are, but the food just seemed a bit old. I’m used to a fresher taste at this chain.

My family and I had dinner at Sweet Tomatoes last night, and we really enjoyed our meal. The banana upside-down cake was a nice dessert. I also enjoyed the Greek Salad.

This place always hits the spot. Great variety of soup, salad, baked goods, and pasta. Food is always excellent and healthy. They always email coupons so it’s never too expensive.

I can attest that it’s a very clean buffet. Attentive staff, clean facilities, and a well-made layout are all very appeasing to the eye. But that’s about it. How people can say the food is great is just beyond me. Prepared salads were soggy, horrible tasting and wilted. Fresh ingredients on the bar were dried out and unwashed. You can practically see the concentrate cans underneath the lemonade dispensers. Breads were plentiful and dry, and soups were nice and thick from soaking for hours… AND how can a place called Sweet Tomatoes not have Tomatoes? Much less any tomato sauce on their pasta?

Lunch is great. Nice variety of soups salads and breads. Breakfast however was very disappointing. Variety is poor. It’s mostly the lunch items minus the fancy salads. There is an omelette bar but had no idea it was there. Nobody offered to make me anything and no signs for it. Oatmeal with no toppings. Diced potatoes, more egg dishes, a few breakfast pastries. Waffles are pre made and cold. You’d think there’d be fruit but it’s only bananas and orange wedges. And Cheerios and corn flakes. And that’s about it. Very poor choices for breakfast for the price.

I go for lunch all the time and it’s great, with fresh ingredients. I decided that I would try breakfast for a change and was not impressed. The Manager explained that the truck never showed up, so there were no juices or biscuits. Everything was the same as when you go for lunch, except there were waffles and eggs. I have a feeling that it isn’t a great breakfast most of the time, because there were very few people there. As a side note, I saw the delivery truck pulling in as I was leaving. Go for lunch and you won’t be disappointed. Join Club Veg and you get coupons emailed. The majority of the staff was speaking Spanish, so hard to figure out what was going on.

It was a rainy gloomy night, and I was in the mood for a buffet. Got there about 2 hours before closing. It wasn’t very busy, but they made sure to keep everything in the salad buffet filled. Waiters were super nice. Food was decent.

Went for #brunch. Had a great coupon, love thier email club #ClubVeg. Enjoyed an outstanding sausage and cheddar omelet, and some crispy baked home fries topped with rich sausage gravy. They even had my fav #tabasco sauce on the bar for my eggs! Good food and a good time. Check em out soon!

I’m kinda on the fence with this place. It wasn’t bad. The salad bar was well stocked and fresh. We were trying to make our way through it and there was one lady in front of us, but she was fundraising her way through the line and every couple of seconds she would completely stop and be yammering at the employees. UGH!!! My husband told me to move around her, but there were 4 of us and I figured that would be kinda rude. I guess the jokes on me. I wasn’t terribly impressed with the soups. There were a lot of them, but I really only had a desire to try 2 of them. I sampled the tomato soup and the clam chowder. The chowder was simply ok, I didn’t really care for the tomato soup at all. It was just missing something, maybe that sweetness that I enjoy in my tomato soup. I don’t know, I just found it to be very boring. The chowder was creamy and nice, I added bacon to mine which brought up the salt level. The breads were delish. They had a macaroni and cheese bread that I thought was fantastic and clever. The bread didn’t have macaroni on it, but it did have cheese and the cracker crumble that homemade macaroni and cheese has, and lots of it. It was this crunchy, salty, cheesy, soft breaded goodness that is such a unique combo that I fell in love with it on the spot. I have to mention that I got a baked sweet potato and that poor little thing had been charred to a crisp. The foil and the bottom of the potato were blackened and it ruined the whole potato. Sad. I shall mourn that poor little sweet potato… it was so young, take me instead!!! The dessert options left me wanting. I didn’t care for much of any of it. The«ice cream» tasted more like ice milk, the brownie was sitting in this sauce that tasted thin and non fatty. I get it, it’s healthy. Healthy desserts suck. That wasn’t a brownie, it was a frownie. It made me frown. Overall, the place was clean and the salad bar had lots of options. If you are in to the whole health scene, this is the place for you. I’m waiting for Cracker Barrel to open up a buffet place, so you can just guess where I fall on the whole healthy subject. My biggest complaint was the entry set up, needing to drag my purse along the salad bar(it was a weird set up) before even getting to just be seated. I did NOT like that. Additionally getting stuck behind that woman who was trying to multitask and would not step aside, my issue here was the employees that LET her do this. If you want to donate to her cause, awesome, take a break and go talk to her… OUT of the line. Hungry Teri is a GRUMPY Teri.

I love Sweet Tomatoes! It is conveniently located walking distance from my apartment. The staff has been there for years with the exception of a few new faces. Everyone is polite and very helpful! Kudos to the bussers, they do an excellent job! And wonderful food. Forever a favorite!

The salads have been good the few times I have went. Same with the soups and bread. The pasta, eh not so much. But I just have a problem with this concept in general. A healthy buffet? It’s not healthy to overeat! Also it’s a bit pricey. I’d rather just grab a soup and a salad somewhere else that’s less crowded and not at a buffet.

Great salads, bread, soups. Priced a tad high. Family of five with three being kids was $ 40 for lunch. Three of us had water too.

What happened?! The prepared salads had an overall good taste but the bowls were just about empty. I had to scrape the bottom of the bowl of the strawberry summer salad(which is what I came for) to get a little bit of every ingredient. As for the build-a-salad ingredients, there were lots of options from cheeses and meats to fresh veggies and dried fruits. The soups were plentiful. They offered Irish potato and leak soup, Chili, and classics like vegetable soup. Toppings included onion, sour cream, salsa, chips, cheese, and more. The wheat bread was just awful. Simple as that. It was old, it was stale, and flavorless. The strawberry, blueberry, and chocolate muffins were so hard, I opened mine up and just ate the insides. It was the only part that was moist. I was so disappointed. Overall this trip was a huge difference from the last time I was here. I always come in for lunch and have never had this issue before. I wonder what happened. Such a shame. =(

I personally love this place after a good workout. Its a buffet, but mostly health food. I can eat many plates and not feel too guilty lol. They switch up the soups but the rest of the items typically remain the same. Its primarily salad, potatoes, kind of pizza like items, pastas, breads, and a wide assortment of drinks. They always have coupons which help. The people who work there are always really friendly and very nice. Overall I would not expect a 5 star dining experience but for a quick, affordable, and tasty buffet I highly suggest you at least try it out. Yummmyyyy.

Well I have gone to Sweet Tomatoes a couple of times now, but hesitated because of the reviews I have read. I learned about the coupons so went one day and I’m hooked! like the ending of a survivor episode they through the hook at you at the end, so you watch next time. Same here. I hate leaving the place.

I’ve been here several times over the years, and I gotta say it seems like this restaurant chain is becoming more and more bland– well, it might just be this location, but still. Anyway, onto the price. One thing that’s awesome about this place is that at least once a month they have coupons, such as BOGO Free Sunday Breakfast or $ 10 dinner buffet. If there’s something huge going on, like a holiday or something, expect there to be more coupons. Now to the actual prices of the meals. I’m actually not 100% positive on how they are without coupons since whenever I go there I use them, but last I went(which was on March 14th for dinner), we used a 20% off coupon and each meal came up to a little over $ 10. I remember years ago they used to be $ 10WITHOUT the aid of coupons. And the reason why I’m making such a big deal about the price is because at the end of the day the quality of the food is basic and bland. Yes it’s a buffet and yes buffets usually value quantity over quality, but most of their items are terribly bland. One time, for a limited time only, they had this lemon theme going on where the 2 – 4 new dishes had lemon in it. I like lemon-y food, so I tried them all, and… No. No thank you. The pasta was basically hot lemon juice with some pasta thrown in there. The only thing I liked from the last visit was this cookie bar desert they have. I don’t know if that’s limited too, but I hope not. Now the main reasom why I’m giving this location a 1-star(instead of a 2) is because the when I went last week they had so many dishes that were dirty. And I dont mean one or two tiny specks of left over food. No, I mean some of the cups had big ‘ol splatters of whatever it was on them. At one point my brother got up to get some soup only to find the 12 or so soup bowls they had near there were ALL dirty. ALL of them. I even found 2 or 3 of the small plates to be dirty! It’s the mixure of the lack of cleanliness and the(basically overpriced) bland food that will keep me from going back.

An update to my previous review. This place got remodeled and I feel everything got much better with my last visit a week ago. I don’t think it’s overpriced for all these wonderful veggies full with enzymes. I absolutely love it! The Sunday Brunch is great too with so many different eggs. I don’t think I can live in a city without Sweet Tomatoes haha: P Good job to the manager for improving this location, definitely better experience than few years ago.
