Ok I love bar B que, I have had some really good BBQ and some bad. This was ok, the brisket was not seasoned and was good with the sauce. The potato salad was quite good and the beans were flavorless. The sausage was tasty and the ribs were not smoky flavored. They claimed they smoked the ribs its more like the soaked them in smoke flavoring. United foods double smoked their ribs and no joke they were bomb! For Texas to brag about the Q I haven’t been impressed with the food here. I mean Really

We were driving across country this winter and of course had to stop for barbecue in Texas. I came to Unilocal for help finding the perfect spot and found Dyers. Well worth the visit! It’s located in a suburban strip mall setting, loads of easy parking. Now I grew up in the southeast. And bbq to me has always meant NC style, vinegar based sauces. I was skeptical of bbq in Texas. We each ordered combo plates to try a little of everything — and everything was delicious! The pulled pork was perfectly succulent, moist, with just enough smoke. It didn’t need any sauce, but I had to try some since we were there — and the mild sweet sauce was perfectly balanced! Potato salad was right on target. Onion ring on the plate was perfect — crisp, not too bready, sweet. And the prices were very reasonable. If I’m ever in Amarillo again, Dyers will be my first stop.

I’m a pulled pork kind of gal. Love it! Little sauce so I can taste the smokey neat. But I figured I was in Texas, so I’d go outside my comfort zone and get the brisket. Ahhhhhh! So glad I did! The sauce, on the side, was slightly sweet and just enough to accompany my sandwich. I added a bit of Tabasco because Iike it hit. It was served with a choice of sides, and I picked the onion rings. I think I got the whole onion! Beer battered and plentiful, and some awesome and crunchy dill chips. I’m in my happy place here!!! I’d have given it one more star, but the décor is a bit yuck, sorry…

This was my second time eating here. Most of The food is not bad but trying to find good BBQ in Texas, should not be so hard. They say they won a competition in ribs. But it feels like they quit caring and are living off an old good reputation. The front reeked of smoke. Their beans are some of the worst I have ever had. My daughter had the catfish and it was decent. The French fries were the best thing I ate. Think about that. The BBQ left a lot to be desired

HIDDENGEM Ever since I got in Amarillo, I’ve been recommended to come here by all the locals. I was extremely hesitant because of the low rating on Unilocal, this place exceeded my expectations. The service was quick and friendly. The atmosphere is your typical red and white picnic table cloths with wooden chairs. The food was outstanding. I ordered the rib basket for $ 9.99. Comes with three tender juicy ribs. They don’t slide off the bone, but they sure are soft. Add some of their award winning secret BBQ sauce and you got yourself a winner ! It also came with one side and Texas toast with apricot. I ordered the coleslaw. It was delicious! Very mild, not too fatty tasting. I really enjoyed the food here! One of the best in town, I’m definitely coming back. Tip: — All you can eat catfish on Wednesdays

Well, we purposely cruised through Amarillo for some Texas BBQ but the place we were sent to was Closed due to Sell-Out. The guy working there suggested Dyers as a great place to go. Well, I didn’t see it. Place was below average, yet had a bunch of awards plastered on the wall. Service was good but food just didn’t cut it. I can see how this place may have been great at one time, but those days are done. I’ve had BBQ in Chicago that blows this place away. I won’t judge Texas BBQ by this though. Shame that they don’t take more pride in their Food. Tasted like reheated leftovers from some random spot in anywhere USA. Sadly I didn’t look on Unilocal before going there. I would’ve gone somewhere else.

My husband and I eat here a lot. He loves the ribs and gets them every time. But the last time he decided to eat the ribeye. He said it was excellent. The chicken fried steak is great also. We love the onion rings. Cole slaw varies depending on who made it for the day. I usually get the salad with brisket on it. The ranch dressing is homemade and it is good for a salad.
