What can I say? I love this man. Amazing barbecue and sides. Almost as delicious warmed over two days later. Just go to Amarillo, and eat barbecue at its best.

By far the best BBQ I’ve had ever!!! The 2 meat sandwich is to die for. The brisket is absolutly perfect!!! Not to mention the bbq sauce that you don’t need is wonderful.

Quintessential Texas BBQ with their own creative twist. Everything we had was amazing! Prices are more than reasonable for all they give you, and even the sometimes cramped atmosphere of the little red house adds fun. Tea was delicious, peach cobbler was perfect. But the stars were the meats, bursting with smoky flavor and the occasional spicy hit. Can’t wait for more!

Great Texas Bbq. Owner, Tyler and his crew are awesome. I will né back, on the way home. Right off 40. Do not miss. I had the # 2.

This is by far the best BBQ I have ever had. Tyler’s is a must go to place. I over ate and still wanted more. It was oh my GOD good. You will not be disappointed! The only drawback is he runs out of food, so go early or go without! I missed the ribs and I am truly sad because if the chopped beef, chicken and pepper corn sausage plate was this(lick the plate clean) delicious. The ribs have got to be out of this world! If I could put more stars, I would certainly not hesitate!

The way BBQ should be! Appears to be family owned and operated, with an extremely friendly staff. Just the right amount of humor with customers to be funny without crossing the line. Located two blocks from I-40 so an easy stop for anyone passing through town. You definitely will not regret making the stop

Very friendly staff greeted us at the counter where brisket was promptly chopped and served on a grilled bun. Ask for a free stick cuz the owner said he had over 10,000 printed to get a good rate!

What can I say outstanding barbecue. Found them on Unilocal as we were passing through Amarillo. Don’t let the looks deceive you, simple but great food. Tyler greeted us and walked us Northerners through the menu. We had brisket, hot link and regular Texas sausage. Green chili and peach cobbler for sides. The rest of the staff was friendly and helpful. We will go out of our way to go here next time we’re in Amarillo.

Where to start, this place rocks! Likely the best brisket I’ve ever had, and the ribs are super good too. My wife got pulled pork, which was also good but the brisket was best. Also enjoyed the green chili stew, super tasty not too spicy. The potato salad was good as well as the beans. The staff was super nice and even offered a bowl of water for our dog(who was jealous and looking on from the car). Easy on and off from I-40, so if you find yourself passing through Amarillo, do yourself and everyone else you’re with a favor and swing in!

This is the kind of friendly, unique(non-chain), terrific, mouthwatering BBQ that this New England Yankee loves to hit up whenever I’m in TX. I had the brisket and sausage dinner plate and left feeling full and satisfied. Everything was great — especially the sauces available at the fixings bar. I’m also writing this review 20 minutes later and can verify that the smoky aftertaste is top-notch! Finally, and this goes a long way for me, the warm, outgoing, southern hospitality that I felt from the staff sets this place at a full five-stars in my book. Great job!

If you are a stickler for good barbecue, Tyler will not disappoint. Super friendly staff, hand picked mesquite they use to smoke their meat(I hear he trucks it in just for the taste it adds) and to die for sauce. Enough said, time to eat!

Unilocalers are the best!!! Going through Amarillo at early lunch time and we didn’t want typical fast food so I came to see what my fellow Unilocalers had to say. This BBQ was the highest rated and we agree. Right off I40 with a drive thru. We watched them make our chopped BBQ sandwiches from the brisket. Hot, smokey flavor and plenty of meat fills these sandwiches. A bag of chips and we enjoyed a great lunch on the road. Worth stopping for!

Just go. No questions. Just go. Amazing amazing Texas barbecue. Rarely will you find an establishment of such caliber and taste. If I had to eat at only one location for the rest of my life, without hesitation I would choose Tyler’s. Verily I volunteer as tribute to the BBQ deities. I personally had the chopped brisket sandwich with the regular BBQ sauce. I could go on living the rest of my days only eating that single piece of heaven. Tyler’s gets a 97 out of 100. Two points if they had homemade vanilla pudding and one star that is unattainable due to fact that I have not tried every last brisket sandwich known to man, so we leave it as is.

Nice little unassuming Texas-style bbq place right off the highway on route 40. Their bbq had a great smoky flavor and everything seemed fresh and high quality. I got the three-meat plate w/two sides. Ribs, brisket and their jalapeño sausage. All had fabulous flavor, especially the jalapeño sausage which also had bits of cheese inside. Although, the brisket was a little dry for my tastes this just meant I used some of their yummy sauce. It’s was late in the day which may have explained the dryness. Ribs were also awesome and only needed a little sauce. Customer service was good. They even let me try some of their cole slaw for free. I would recommend Tyler’s to anyone and I would certainly come here again to eat. I’m coming from Kansas City bbq and have always preferred Texas bbq more. This is a personal choice so don’t take this statement personally ;) The best thing was the price. Total bill for the three meat plate, 2 sides and a drink was $ 18.00(pretty good value for money, especially compared to KC bbq prices). They just need to figure out the brisket dryness and I’d give them a 5-star. Check this place out when you’re in town!

My favorite thing about my sales travels is landing in locations where people use Unilocal! With a 4.5 star rating I looked no further. Since it’s my first time I always ask for suggestions. I got the #2 sandwich special which included chopped brisket and jalapeño cheddar sausage! Wow! The brisket has this amazing smokey flavor reminding me of a campfire grill. The sausage was to die for and having them together under a bun, omg couldn’t have asked for a better meal! This place speak Texas! It’s a very casual place where you order and sit down to eat. I felt like I was eating in a country kitchen. They also have a drive thru! While here there were 6 business men in suits conducting a meeting so seriously all walks of life come here to have good BBQ! FYI I came on a Tuesday around 5pm and by 6pm they hung signs on the door that they were sold out! Another sign that this is a great place! The peach cobbler was and service were also amazing!

Definitely MEATCANDY. GREATBRISKET. They almost got a bad review, because one half pound was from a different brisket than the other half pound ANDTHEYWERETOTALLYDIFFERENT. The first half made me a little upset — it wasnt $ 26 a pound brisket… but the second half made me forget what I was upset about! No joke. Also, their homeade beans are, hands down, the best and the homeade potato salad will retire some grandmothers from ever peeling potatoes again! Tyler’s BBQ is literally the ONLY food I eat when Im near Amarillo.

A nondescript building, which is a former fast food restaurant, is home to some of the best barbecue you’ll find in the panhandle. The earlier you arrive, the more options available to you. The brisket and jalapino(their spelling) cheese sausage are wonderful. The ribs are okay, at least the time had them. Their potato salad includes red and yellow bell peppers which give it a different taste, but it’s good. If you make it here for lunch on a Thursday, you MUST get the green chile mac and cheese. It is the best mac and cheese ever.
