The Burger Bar

Went to The Burger Bar for the first time and thoroughly enjoyed the food and atmosphere. My sis and I split the Grilled Cheese Burger which tasted like Jesus Himself made it. I love inside of the building; it has that old coffee shop vibe. We had a couple of waiters – one was a long bearded gentlemen, the other a very sweet and bubbly young lady. I would have preferred the lady over the guy because he didn’t seem very enthusiastic. He was pleasant, just didn’t seem too thrilled. But overall, I really enjoyed my experience. Reasonably priced, chill atmosphere, and finger-​licking good burgers! I recommend!

Not even one star worthy! We made our reservation for 30 people 2 months ago. Confirmed the reservation today. We showed up and the staff was clueless that we were coming. Epic Fail. Have gone to the burger bar for several years. Was hopeful since they had new ownership that the service was better since they bragged about that on Facebook. Worst service EVER! Will never go back.

Frito Chilli Pie fries! The boyfriend and I went to the Burger Bar for lunch one day and couldn’t decide between the Western burger and the Chicken Strip sandwich with the hot sauce, so we ordered both and split them. Both were terrific, even the next day!

The place is under new management and so far is doing great. Cleaned it up and brought in new servers and bartenders. Good variety of taps and bottles. Food is nothing to write home about, but is good. The bar atmosphere is good to unwind at and a have drunk after a long work day.

I would had a much better experience if the longhair male bartender would stop playing with his hair! He kept taking it out of a ponytail and putting it back in one.
I don’t think I saw him once wash his hands!!!
How that for a health code violation!

First time patron. Burger was a 50/​50, and was so hot I had to let it cool down! Kudos on that! The cheese fries have a bit to be desired. A little on the undercooked side, and not enough cheese! Guess we are spoiled in WI.
Service was grade A! Our drink order was taken, and filled, within the first 5 mins of walking in the door! Our food orders were taken when drinks came, and I think ten minutes is all we waited, on the food.
No complaints, other than the soggy fries.
Our waitress was busy with another large group, as we were leaving, but another server, was quick to thank us, and welcome us back again! Will definitely stop by here for food again!

They hit the spot on an excellent burger here. Ordered the triple double and loved every second of it fast service too

Disappointed. Average food. Average service. For a sports bar, they manage the televisions in a poor way. But the worst part, was the heavy metal music that one of employees assumed was the best choice for the customers. We won’t be back.

Horrible service, cold food, super loud, and I can not stand it when you send food back and the jouvinille waitress rolls her eyes at me… Come on guys your at work be professional… Not worth the $ 29.23 that I had to pay… Unhappy to the next power… And ps I didn’t even get to eat the food I ordered because it took so long to remake mine that we had to leave ($ 10 wasted)… Ugggggg

Honestly? There are better places in this area. Trick is to find them AND get off the main drag. Meh.

I have only been to the burger bar once but that one experience was enough to ensure I don’t return.
I ordered a standard cheeseburger & fries. My sister ordered the same & we shared an order of cheese sticks. The burger is much too thick for my liking {I prefer thin, hand-​pressed patties} the fries were fine {nothing special, but not bad either}
The cheese sticks were not good at all. They were cold in the center & the cheese wasn’t all the way melted. The breading wasn’t very flavorful & it wasn’t crispy, at all.
Up to this point, nothing was terrible but we weren’t super impressed either. When the waitress brought out our ticket, she had charged both of us for drinks {we both ordered water} & charged us for every single ranch & condiment that she brought to us. We asked her about the drinks & she said «I’ll catch you next time» instead of taking off the charges. Sorry, miss… there won’t be a next time.

The BOM was the Hawaiian Burger… Delicious beef with ham slices and a pineapple salsa on top! I have a baby mouth, and it was the right kind of kick for me. Amazing stop!
Only downside was the fries. They are not included in the meal, so I don’t recommend getting them. Nothing special to them.

Quick, friendly service and good food at good prices. I don’t understand the mediocre reviews.
Their burgers are on the same level as blue sky, their toppings are actually better. Whatever burger you get (I recommend the ⁵⁰⁄₅₀: a party that’s ½ ground bacon and ½ beef) add their guac; it was creamy, fresh and had a little bit of heat. They also have good chili, definitely add some to their cheese fries. And there’s a HUGE selection of ales and lagers.
My husband left his wallet on the table and 2 servers came chasing after us as we were pulling out of the parking lot.

The groupon and free fri Friday (from checking in on Facebook) is what brought us in. Unfortunately the service is poor. I ordered the bleu cheese burger, which was the best part. This is the first place in amarillo where I’ve ordered a bleu cheese burger and received REAL and good stuff. The night we went, one of the fryers caught on fire. Our burgers took THIRTY minutes to get to us, our fries took 40. When they finally arrived they were super greasy and soggy. Our waiter wasn’t very attentive or apologetic about the veryyyy long wait.
Sure, there’s a few good beers. But I’m about service. Won’t be going back. If you’re going to spend money at least go where you’ll feel served well. Don’t be cheap people…

Tonight had «The Burger Bar» for dinner & want to say we truly enjoyed our experience, especially liked our waiter Will. Will was very knowledgeable of the beer selection & tastes. He was also very attentive to our needs as a table.
MINE: BB Cheese Steak Sandwich — Grapefruit Ale (Illusive Traveler)
HIS: Green Chili Burger (Green Chilies, grilled onions & mixed cheeses) — 1554 Black Lager (New Belgium)
The atmosphere is great; the bar is not attached to the kitchen, which is helpful. I feel it eliminates employee traffic. The staff wasn’t chatting with their own side conversations, all were engaged with their customers when they needed to. They have a seating layout that incorporates different styles for people’s likings; the bar is long, enough for people to come in and hang out. They also have high bar tables away from the bar yet easily accessible to the bar if need. They also just have a dining area for families that seat 4 to a table. On the dining tables, I found it very convenient that there is a roll of paper napkins attached to the table. They also have a few TVs turned on to sports. The restaurant was ½ full and it wasn’t loud, where I could hear the next table’s conversation.
Overall we thought our beers were delicious along with our meals but it throws us off that in addition to our $ 9 meal we have to order fries or something to go along with the meal.

I hear a lot of mixed reviews about Burger Bar — seems like you either love it or hate it. We love it!
For one thing they have an ALL DAY happy hour on Saturday, nothing to dislike there! If you sign up with their «club» they send out free coupons for their Burger of the Month (BOM) and every Friday they give out free fries if you check in on FB. Many people have mentioned slow or inattentive service, but we have never experienced anything I would consider bad service.
My favorite thing to order is The Ripper, a GIANT hot dog that is deep fried until the skin begins to crisp and tear. They have a huge variety of toppings and I haven’t found one combination that hasn’t been wonderful.

Overpriced and underwhelming. They don’t actually open until 11am and will ask you to wait outside in the cold even if it’s 10:45am. Then, when you are allowed in, don’t expect prompt service. I sat at the bar and was the only customer there. The burger was decent, but not great, and fries don’t come with it. The one person (staff) who bothered to acknowledge me was friendly, at least.

I don’t know why everyone has been giving this place such bad reviews. I went there today after work to grab a bite with my coworkers today, and I had a pretty good experience here.
The Food:
— The Western Burger: Large tasty patty with fried onions, pepper jack cheese, lettuce, tomatoes, and pickles drowned in BBQ sauce on Texas toast. Thought it was large and delicious!
— The ⁵⁰⁄₅₀: ½ lb of 50% of ground bacon and 50% ground meat with toppings of your choice. My friend ordered this and wanted the same toppings as the Western. Honestly, couldn’t taste any bacon, was only a little bit bigger than mine; even the waitress wasn’t even sure which burger was which. He also got charged for the extra topping :(I’ve had other ⁵⁰⁄₅₀ burgers before and honestly I don’t think this one makes the cut
— Cheese Fries: delish! Tons of cheese, we added bacon for that extra fatty goodness. Large was more than enough for 4 people.

Overall, the food was good. Service was nice and attentive (but I also went in at 4pm and there were no other customers). The atmosphere was clean and a nice hangout place.

Just ate here for lunch after hearing it was a good stop… might beg to differ. It really does offer a good atmosphere and seems really promising. We ordered 3 cheeseburgers and cheese fries to share. Their service was REALLY slow, and we ended up getting the cheese fries as an appetizer after nearly a 20 minute wait, and then waited about 45 minutes for just our burgers.
I’ll go back and give them an other try, but it’s definitely not a place I’ll go back to for lunch — I was late back to work over a cheeseburger I could have ordered at Whataburger.

In town on business and this was one of the only places with decent, be it mixed reviews, that wasn’t a Mexican joint… so here I sit!
I bellied up to the bar, so the service was good for me. Beer selection is basic with about 20 beers on tap, but a good variety! Staff could be a little more knowledgeable on the non-​domestic beers, but it’s beer, right?!
The food was basic fare, ordered a burger and some onion straws. If you are picky with your burger, then make sure to request a temp… I failed to do so and got a well done patty :(
Overall experience was nothing exciting, but nothing terrible. If I pass through the area again I wouldn’t wag my finger at the chance to stop in again.
