I am all about supporting local businesses but they are a bit overpriced. Books that sell for under $ 40(with free shipping) are $ 50 here. I bought a set of RP dice that ended up being shipped and are very light in weight compared to my other chessex sets. Probably going to find another store.

I bought my daughter a my little pony and it was very clear after opening that it was used. Scratches and scuffs, a chunk missing from the tail and even DIRTY. I paid full price for this?! HA never again.

The Toy Soldier has a great amount of variety, and is also able to special order items that you can’t find on the floor. The staff is great, very friendly and knowledgeable. There’s plenty of in-store events, and plenty of gaming tables for tournaments, or just getting some people together to play. I’ve become a regular, and I really enjoy shopping and spending time here. Board Games: Excellent Selections of non-traditional board games, though you can still find a copy of scrabble and monopoly here and there. There’s complex games for older crowds, games great for all ages, themed games, award winning games, zombie games, space games, economic games, adventure games etc. Bonus section of games for youngsters. Table Top Gaming: Big selections for Warmachine, Hordes, Warhammer Fantasy &40k, Firestorm Armada, Axis & Allies, Flames of War etc. Also some smatterings of new or lesser known games(if its interesting or asked for they tend to stock it) Tools: Airbrushes, Paint, Terrain, Bases, Pliers, Brushes, Magnets… Trading Card Games: Magic the Gathering(FNM and Pre-Release events held regularly), Pokemon, Kaijoo, My Little Pony, World of Warcraft and others. Sleeves, mats, storage boxes etc. too Comics: Large wall of comics, as well as shelves of trade paperbacks, manga, omnibuses, etc. RPGs: Lots of RPG games, including and not limited to, D&D(various editions), Pathfinder, World of Darkness, and shelves of other ones I haven’t dabbled with yet. Dice(sets and individuals), figures, etc. also available. Disc Golf: The Toy Soldier also is stocked with supplies for playing Disc Golf(Frisbee Golf), there’s a course down the street at the Amesbury Pines Park. There’s also Sci-Fi & Fantasy novels, T-shirts, and an entire section of comics and games for little kids. I couldn’t possibly list everything, and have no idea how it all fits into the store, but I’ve never had to go elsewhere to buy anything I’m looking for. Great Shop.

Great place to buy games and comics. Easy to get a pull list, just talk to the staff and they’ll pull what you want. If they don’t have it, Mick(the Owner) will do his best to get it for you!!! Great personal service from Mick & his staff, they call you by name and actually are interested in their customers, and not pushing to make a sale, which is refreshing. Also, they love to share their interests with you, and are willing to answer questions about games or books that you don’t know about. I’ve been coming to The Toy Soldier since I was a kid(I’m almost 38), and they keep up with the times, offering new and current items. There’s also space for playing various games, the Soldier has various nightly and weekly events too. All and all, a Great store to shop at for everyone in the family!!!

Toy Soldier is a fantastic store with a great selection. The staff is very friendly and the store is one of the cleanest comic shops that I have ever seen(scratch that — THE cleanest). I wish that they were closer to me so that I could visit more often. They have a great section of kids comics so I took my nephew here to buy him some books to encourage him to read. He only liked Sonic though. I’m a little worried that he said he ‘doesn’t like Batman.’(Time for an intervention). I’m not into gaming but there’s always some game or tournament going on in the back, as well. There is only street parking but the only time I’ve ever had trouble finding a spot was when all of downtown was closed for some event.

I love the Toy Soldier! I wouldn’t dream of shopping at any other store when looking for games, comics, toys, or gifts. The selection is great, and Mick(the ultra cool owner) will special order anything you can imagine if it’s not in yet! If you live in the area you should pick up your subscriptions here — support your friendly neighborhood comic store! Anything else would be criminal because this place is a real gem! Unlike lots of other comic and hobby stores in the area, the Toy Soldier is family friendly, hip, and has a sense of humor. The staff is charming and helpful, which can be rare for such an establishment, and comic insiders to complete newbies are welcomed alike. Pick up a new game for family night, check out the latest graphic novels, or buy some paints for your models — just please make sure to drop by and see what the Toy Soldier has to offer!
