I’ve been a customer of Bocce’s on Bailey for a very long time and, usually, am pretty happy with the quality of service and food. Today, I placed an order for delivery with an employee named Sandy – she seemed to struggle with the order and credit card process(they had a new system, according to her). My bank account was charged. She also said that delivery would be slow – about 1.75 hours. Suffice to say, nearly two hours came and went the order was nowhere to be found. I called back, and the person who answered said there was no record of my order. I then asked to speak to a manager and was transferred to Sandy. When I asked Sandy when the order would be delivered, she said she didn’t know. I encouraged her to find out. She said she didn’t have a GPS for the driver, so I asked her to call him. She did. She told me the driver was on the other side of town and said they’d have to redo the entire order because there was a problem. I asked her how long redoing the order would take. She didn’t know. I asked to speak to someone else. Finally, I spoke to a guy named Nathan, who said he was a manager. He said my order had never left Bocce’s for delivery and that they’d have to make a new order. He said he’d give me full credit for the order, which he did(I checked my bank account to verify). He also said he’d personally deliver my order if that’s what it would take to get it here within the three-hour mark and, in fact, my order was delivered 40 minutes after talking with Nathan. The food was delicious! Thank you, Nathan, for picking up the slack and for providing exemplary customer service. I decided on a four-star review because usually Bocce’s is good. The missing star is due to inept Sandy and my two-hour-and-40-minute wait for dinner.

Seems like it’s becoming a crap shoot. Sometimes pizza is terrific, sometimes it stinks. When you pay $ 21.00 for a pizza it should be good ALL the time. Disappointed again.

Best pizza I’ve had in Buffalo. Friendly service. Got my pizza half-baked and it came out great. So far I’ve had the veggie pizza and broccoli cheddar, and both were delicious. Looking forward to trying more.

My In-Laws swear by this place and so nearly every holiday when the family is in town they order and we eat. Truth is, in all the times they’ve ordered, I’ve never had a good pizza from them. The crust is flavorless. The sauce bland. No herbs or spices(you know, basil, oregano… traditional pizza spices). Nearly devoid of cheese. There’s just nothing to recommend this.

I grew up on Bocce’s Pizza. In the past several years, they have undergone a change. I love the thin crust and sauce/toppings straight up to the edge, which is STILL done. What I Don’t like is how the cheese is cooked to a PAPERTHIN layer of dried-out brown bubbles you can peel off in one piece covering each cut slice! Solution: Order it HALF-BAKED and you’ll get the soft mozarella goo we all know and love. Otherwise, you will be in for a guaranteed disappointment. Conclusion: It’s a shame that the QUALITY and QUANTITY has taken a nose dive down, making the ONLY tolerable remedy being HALF-BAKED.

The real test of a business is how they deal with a mistake. After going to Bocce for many years(As in close to 40 years) we had a not so good experience. Our pizza was soggy, and they got our wings wrong. It’s a to go order, so I wasn’t sure if I should call or not. I called and spoke with the manager, he listened and before I could say anything he offered me a $ 20.00 credit on my next order. I was pretty surprised that he apologized and said that he hoped that we would give them another chance. Bocce does a lot of business, so it’s nice to see that they still take care of every customer. The pizza has a sweet sauce which is rare these days. The flavor is good and they do not skimp on anything. The wings are good and they are one of the few places that understands what extra crispy means. Also, they don’t pack them in foam containers. We’ll be ordering here many more times!

Consistently the best pizza I’ve had in the buffalo area. This review is across twenty years — they have had a few periods where it wasn’t terrible but not their best, but over the last two years they’ve stepped it up. Bocce’s on Bailey is prototypical buffalo-style pizza. Not Chicago deep dish, not Brooklyn thin slice, and not gourmet toppings like a La Nova or California Brick Oven. Just simple, tasty-good pizza. Their wings are pretty decent but that’s not where they shine — you go to Bocce’s for pizza, and it’s damn good.

I read on Facebook that Bocce Club offered nationwide delivery, and I remembered them from my college years in Buffalo, NY. It’s tough to get good pizza in Los Angeles, especially sheet pizza, so I ordered two for Super Bowl. They FedEx overnight, and I was thrilled when they arrived the next day neatly packaged, half baked and ready to finish off in the oven for 5 – 8 minutes! The aroma took me back instantly, they smelled so good! «It’s the cheese that makes it so tasty,» someone said. Despite leaving off the pepperoni I requested(and paid for), the pies were delicious and were a big hit at our game day party. Most expensive pizza delivery I’ve had, but worth the price for a great nostalgic taste. Next time we try the wings!

I did not go in to pick up the pizza, nor was I present when it was ordered, so I am strictly reviewing on the flavor of the pizza and wings. I cannot attest to the price, service, or inside of the location. All I ever hear is how amazing Bocce’s is, but I never had the opportunity to try it until my boyfriend’s family ordered it for a get together. I was excited to finally see what all the hype is about. They ordered a party pizza with half cheese and onion and half cheese and sausage and 50 wings… I think those were medium. I was not impressed with either item at all. The pizza sauce was flavorless and there were hardly any toppings(I don’t like sausage so I only had a slice of the cheese and onion and I think I maybe had one sliver of onion on the entire piece). The pizza was so bland that I ended up putting my own spices on top of the pizza, but I didn’t even enjoy it then. The wings were bone dry. I don’t know about you, but I like my wings saucy and these certainly were not that. Additionally, the wing sauce had an odd flavor. It wasn’t like your typical wing sauce, but I wasn’t a fan. Overall, I just wasn’t impressed, at all. I would much rather order from Franco’s, or even Pizza Hut, for that matter.

I have been going to Bocce on Bailey for 42 years. I still remember the phone# as TF3−1344. We used to hop the fence and my parents would give us $ 5 bucks for a whole pie. Bocce’s is truly an institution. When you think of Buffalo you think of the Bills, Sabres, and Bocce’s. No one makes it better than Dino but the consistency is not like it used to be. I realize that turnover in staff could be the reason but it will not stop me from getting Bocce’s. I judge all other pizza by Dino’s. May the force be with you Dino and may Bocce’s live on forever.

Been eating at Bocce for many decades. Seems to be changing And not for the better. Two disappointing pies in one week. Waited almost an hour tonight for a a way over cooked pie.

Bocce’s, what happened to you??? I remember coming here as a kid in the ’60’s, when getting a pizza was a rare treat. Had it a few times since, but. went there yesterday… not good. What happened to your cup and charred pepperoni??? thicker crust? The sauce was good tho. I am dissapointed

The pizza was delicious! However the wings were awful! We called and complained as they were dry and burned. We got a replacement and they were the exact same. Take the wings out of the fryer like 5 – 7 minutes less and then maybe they would be worth getting. I would never order wings again from you.

Meh. I have heard that a lot of people think this is the best pizza in Buffalo. I even know of one person that is from here, moved away, and when he visits town will ONLY eat pizza from here. I find that to be odd, because I was not impressed. The pizza was very average, and one of the biggest things I am judging it on is the lack of pizza crust. I love a good hearty crust on a pizza, and Bocce’s pizza certainly lacks that. The cheese and sauce were just average, making the overall flavor just average. The lack of sufficient crust also made me sigh and cry internal tears because all I ask for is a crust! For the price and the quality, I would not recommend Bocce’s when there are so many other good local pizza places. Franco’s and Olisi’s are better than Bocce’s. La Nova is probably on par with Bocce’s quality(I am not really a fan of either).

No one does pizza like Buffalo and I was told no one does Buffalo pizza like Bocce. I’m Buffalo born but I’m a La Nova’s kid. Still, I like the occasional challenge. I’m not stuck in my ways. I know what I like but I also know I haven’t eaten everything I’m going to like. After splitting a half with pep with a friend at the very reasonable price of 10 bucks plus tax, the verdict is in. I’m still a La Nova’s kid. But, I also get Bocce’s charm. Their pepperoni is thinner, the cheese is just the right amount, and the sauce is very Buffalo pizza style. And, I’m not sure if anyone does crust better not even La Nova’s. Their crust is crispy often because of burnt cheese and I’m a fan of that. Unfortunately, I’m also a fan of thick pepperoni acting as grease bowls and not driving out of the city for a slice.

This used to be one of my favorite parts about food when I visit my hometown. However, over the years, it seems like the quality has taken a plummet. Picked up a half box of pizza. Not only was the pizza burned, but the quality was… Well, it was like they didn’t make it fresh. And I say that in the most respectful possible. My mother, who defends Bocce’s over La Nova, Leonardi and the others, feels like it was just a oven-reheated stiff pizza. Stiff as in the pizza order that someone called in and never picked up.

They only half listened to me last night when I placed an order, so I had to repeat myself several times, then they made the pizza wrong anyways with hot sausage instead of mild Italian Sausage(who puts HOTSAUSAGE on a pizza in Buffalo??) and when I called back to complain I was put on hold for almost ten minutes before someone got on the phone claiming to be the manager and argued with me. I ended up handing the phone to my wife, who told them that she’d be glad to come pick up another pie because the first one was inedible. When she went to pick it up, she was told that the person that she had spoken with wasn’t the manager, but an ex-employee, and that she was supposed to bring back the old pizza even though the person on the phone told her differently. I’ve been up half the night with acid reflux and indigestion because of their botched pizza and all the red pepper that was in their«Italian Sausage». And the rest of their pie just went in the trash. I don’t know what’s wrong with their QoS, but it’s been very hit or miss lately and with so many other alternatives for pizza in the area, it isn’t difficult to find a better pie from Leonardi’s or John’s, La Hacienda Brighton, LaNova’s or Gandy’s where the quality and consistency is always on the mark. Having been a pizza delivery driver myself, I know how tough the business is in Buffalo and I always tip to the benefit of the delivery guys who work hard to make Buffalo pizza the best in New York State. But, honestly, I’ll never order from Bocce Club again– what used to be my favorite has turned into my least favorite pie.

Best pizza you’ll have the pleasure of putting in your mouth. Been told they have seasoned pans that provide the crust with it’s signature taste. Basically heaven on earth. Sauce is more on the savory side and it’s perfect. Pepperoni is thick cut and delicious. Dough is classic«Buffalo» style in that it’s the love child of Chicago deep dish and NY slice. Classic pies to try: Sausage, sweet peppers, mushrooms, and onions. Pepperoni. Traditional white pizza(no sauce with sliced tomato). Chicken fingers(in buffalo sauce) are the perfect way to round out your order. Always served with ample celery, carrots, and blue cheese. Love out of town but make it mandatory to stop and get Bocce whenever in Buffalo. Growing up we would get pizza every Friday.

A Buffalo Staple we get a pizza and subs to go after visiting relatives in the area. The pizza is consistently excellent with a sweet sauce and chewy crust that leaves one satisfied. I like the Bocce Bomber, which is a steak and sausage sub, with provolone and sautéed peppers, onions, and mushrooms.

Bocce pizza is so delicious. Their pepperoni sheet pizza is quite possibly the best pizza I have had in Buffalo. Apparently they have gluten free options which is cool. Their plain cheese sheet pizza is around $ 28 which I think is pretty reasonably priced considering how many people it feeds, however, to add veggie toppings to a sheet is $ 3 and meat toppings like pepperoni is an additional $ 5 which is a little steep in my opinion. They have some interesting sounding speciality pizzas, have only ordered delivery from here so far and they have always come in a reasonable amount of time.

Gotta say that I was pretty disappointed with this place. I’ve read a lot about different Buffalo area pizzeria’s and Bocce is supposed to be one of the best. The pizza that I received was very thin, almost NYC thin. I have heard so much about Bocce’s sauce. I wonder how anyone else can even taste their sauce as there was literally almost none on my pizza. Anyways, if I wanted to fold my pizza in half while I ate it, I would have just went to Zettis.

I’m happy to be one of the Buffalonians who knew about Bocces Pizzeria Club that was located at 360 Clinton on Buffalo’s East Side, this was the original and first Bocce’s location and they knew how to serve up the perfect pizza pie! I have some great childhood memories of summer days that ended with a cars of people from our softball teams pulling up to Bocce’s to grab a few pies and celebrate our victories in the parking lot. Those were the days! Even as an adult I would order a pie and the owners always remembered me because he knew my family. And, as many of you already know, the original location is always the best, I feel bad for those of you who never had the opportunity to visit this gem. I was saddened to find out the owner has passed. If you checked out the link I posted, you’ll see the place was just a shack but I saw it as a fortress. It was one of the few places that survived the East Side riots in Buffalo. The owners were a class act, I loved them! I never grabbed a pizza from Bocces on Bailey until this location closed. I’m thankful it’s still around… The pizza is slightly different but the dough and the sauce is still the same as my taste buds remember, it’s just more cheesier and still the bomb! It’s the best! Looking for the best pizza in Buffalo? Well, aside from Bocce’s Pizzeria Club, the BEST locations in Buffalo for pizza are Imperial’s, Leonardi’s and Bella’s Pizza!

Possibly one of the best pizzas I have ever had. Damn all that live in Buffalo and get to indulge in Bocce whenever they please. Plotting my next 6hr road trip in the near future for another double pepperoni whole pie. Next time I’m ordering a half pie to eat on the spot and possibly two par baked ones(they offer this genius offering) to take on the road to freeze and eat for the week. Heated up some slices the next day in the oven and it was delish. I’ve got 3 more slices left, I’ll be savoring every last bite.
