I was invited by a food friend that bartends here(Suzanna) and it’s a cool bar. Nice beer selection, plenty of games to play, friendly staff and they have a kitchen. What stuck out to me is I happen to be sitting next to the owner 1 night and got to suggest getting my drink of choice…(Hennessy) few days later I get a message that it’s been ordered. Coming from a customer service background thats what you call a 10! Give the customer what they want and there’s no reason not to come back. Came in tonight for my first glass of many Hennessy and cokes lol. Ps: Mondays are all you can eat wings nights for $ 5!!! 7−10pm

The night I was in was fairly crowded and it took forever to get a drink. On top of that the price of the drinks kept changing depending on who I ordered from. I order the same two drinks all 4 times I ordered and I got charged: $ 9.00, $ 9.50, $ 10.25, and $ 10.00. So I guess there was some Shenanigans going on lol. The best part of the visit had to be the band. I really enjoyed them.

I’ve been here to drink a few times, it’s a hole in the wall but I’ve always enjoyed myself. Service is always good.

tl;dr version: Do NOT go here, a server posted my personal information online to his Facebook page and harassed me. Absolutely the worst service I’ve ever encountered. We went in ¼/16 for the $ 6 wings night, and as it was a Monday the restaurant was less than half filled. Our waitress was incredibly slow, and we could see her eating at the end of the bar for about half of our stay. My water had a fruity aftertaste to it, likely because the glasses were not cleaned properly. The wings themselves were dry and left much to be desired, though I admit their Guinness BBQ sauce was pretty good. We had to physically walk to our waitress several times so we could get refills on food and drinks, and later our check. She couldn’t be bothered to check up on us, she was too busy with her sandwich evidently. She even ignored a new family that came in, it took her about 10 minutes to even ask them for their first drinks. As we were not at all impressed with the service, we left no tip, but left a suggestion that she might like to find employment elsewhere. Later, the food runner that was there that night messaged me on Facebook, harassing me with several expletives. I also saw that he posted my receipt, with my full name and signature, to his Facebook page. He has posted other people’s receipts as well. When my boyfriend called the manager about this, the manager said he would«talk to them,» but I won’t find out what will come of that as I will never step foot in this place again. You shouldn’t either.

Went here yesterday for a late lunch. The place was quiet with lots of tables and a very open environment. The server was quiet, but nice, and immediately gave us menus. Their selection of food items was pretty good, made up of salads, wings, Friday fish fry, burgers, etc. and most items around $ 10. We ordered the Gaelic Burger with fries and California Burger with salad. Both entrees came out within 30 minutes and were made well(huge burger patties) and the California burger was especially tasty with avocado and provolone. The coated fries were very good and the garden salad was crispy. A good experience, we would definitely go back to dine here. I want to try their fish fry and see how that is.

Went for the all you can eat wing special. Was very disappointed in the entire place. First we could not get anyone to give us service at the tables so we had to move to the bar. Once at the bar we got the privilege of watching the male bartender reach into the popcorn machine with his hands and stuff his face for 20mins and wipe his greasy hands on his pants then continue to make drinks and serve food. The bar had the most fruit flies I’ve ever seen in a working bar. I’m guessing this is due to the lack of cleaning in the establishment. The wings were a embarrassment to buffalo. For a city known for their wings this cook must have never tried to learn how to properly make«buffalo» wings. To top the experience off we were charged and extra dollar for each batch of bbq wings we had and were not told about this before hand. The drinks were over priced to say the least. I could expect to pay 5.50 for a beer at a clean friendly restaurant however at this dive bar I wouldn’t want to pay that much. I would avoid this restaurant at all cost. There are much better places to go within a 2 min drive.

First impression because I’ve never been to this establishment. I started by visiting the ladies bathroom, it smelled worse than a porter potty. As if someone peed all over. I was on the verge of gagging. Then I continued to wait for a beverage for 7 minutes before anyone even looked at me. And continued to help someone else that was standing right next to me. I probably will never come back.

Bars good. Don’t go here for food though. I was in the mood for nachos recently and figured I’d call this place since they were close by. I would like to say I was disappointed, but we’ve had food from there once before, and kinda had a idea of what was to come. Unfortunately I wasn’t wrong. I don’t know how it’s possible to make nachos any worse than them. I don’t think it is. There was nothing on them! And I mean nothing. We got chips with hardly any cheese melted, and that was it! There was nothing else on them! And when I say hardly any cheese, I mean, it looked like the string cheese, with a couple strings per chip. It was comical. The best part, I think it was around 12 or 13 dollars! The only real thing I can think of as to why it was so incredibly bad was either the cook, or the bartender must’ve been wasted when they made this. You just can’t screw up nachos the way they did. But like I said initially, this isn’t the first time I’ve had bad food from there. Went there once, years ago, to sit down and eat. Everything was bad. Service, food, everything. Everyone in the bar is so sauced, that I think it’s really not meant to serve food there. Or eat it unless you’re wasted.

Great place to go with a group of friends for drinks on the weekend. Plus, they don’t skip out on the booze for their Long Island iced teas, and usually have a good selection of music playing.

Great place to grab a beer after work or while the spouse is shopping at the mall. But that’s about it, what else were you expecting, it’s a bar.

I’m a little torn on how to rate this bar. I go with my friends here almost every week to play trivia on Thursday evenings. The trivia is good(DJ Trivia) and the beer is priced right $ 7 or $ 8 for a pitcher of Blue. Nothing special about the beer selection, I think about 8 drafts and some bottles(No idea how many). However, at least Thursdays the kitchen is slammed and occasionally there is only one waitress(she is really good, but can only do so much) serving the entire dining area, 10+ tables. Sometimes you wait a long time to order food and get it, usually nothing insane but certainly worth mentioning. This knocks the star off though. The food is standard bar food with burgers, wings, sandwiches. Most are pretty good for what they are. The price is right with most things on the menu being $ 8 – 12.

It’s funny because if you searched for this place, you might think it doesn’t exist. I almost added it to Unilocal because it didn’t come up in a search for me. Possibly because this bar uses an unorthodox spelling — usually you’ll see it as «Shenanigans» elsewhere, but as far as I can tell this listing is correct. Even a google search doesn’t hit many reliable sources to elude that this place even exists, but check it out! Shenannigans is definitely one of my favorite bars in the suburbs. If you like Elmwood bars like Coles, I expect you’ll enjoy yourself. It has a very small, cozy feel. I actually didn’t even notice until very recently all of the seating on the other side away from the bar. If you haven’t been here before, think Brennan’s, but less restaurant and more bar, though it’s similar in the way it becomes a decent young watering hole on Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights. I generally like the bar crowd, music, and drink offerings. It’s a place you can actually have a conversation with someone and everyone’s friendly enough to talk to. I’m 22 and like a variety of music, but I’m not big on current pop hits, so Shenannigans is usually a good choice for me. I can’t speak to the food at all, but they have a pretty good beer and drink selection at average prices. I’ve spent about 2 – 3 hours there before, bought drinks for friends and friends-to-be and spent under 50 dollars. But honestly, for all the times I’ve been there, I have no idea what the price per drink is! My guess is around 4 – 5 dollars for a draft and 3 – 4 for a bottle, pretty standard outside of dive bars. And that one time there was a bachelorette party that I bought shots for, I think it was about $ 3 each. I’d say one major drawback for me is that it isn’t close to many other weekend night hot-spots. It’s a good place to start or finish your night if you live in Amherst, East Amherst, or anywhere around UB north I guess, but I don’t normally spend an entire night there. I have been there for a live bands and they were really cool; playing alt-rock and rock covers like Pearl Jam and The Black Keys. I’m pretty sure the only time there’s a cover is when there’s an event or live band. I’ve also been there for DJ nights(which I liked a little less), and I’ve heard they have trivia nights, which I’d definitely like to try sometime. Don’t be confused by the elusiveness! Shenannigans is real and kicking! If you like a pretty chill, young bar, grab some friends and check it out! Hopefully I can get in for some food to comment on that soon!
