Maybe I should have just gone with the steak and could’ve had a better experience. I opted to get some omega 3’s instead and got the salmon plate. I love salmon, but this place does not know how to cook salmon right. It was almost rubbery in texture and I can’t even remember what it tasted like because of the lack of flavor and the dryness of it. I’m not sure why it was so empty during peak hours such at lunch time. There were so many tables and only 3 tables were occupied. Did previous customers order the salmon too? I guess I should order the steak next time since this is what they’re known for. I will opt for it if I come back. Customer service was good though.

Hubby and I came here for dinner about a month ago. We both had the Stockyard dinner meals. I have to say — I’m not much of a meat eater(usually just eat steaks at Fleming’s, Ruth Chris, Morton’s and Mastro’s for special occasions) but figured I would try a steak here. I usually go with the fish or a veggie option. I’m so glad I went with a steak, it did not disappoint! The meal came with a salad(cold, crispy, fresh), bread and a baked potato. Everything was perfect and tasty. You can’t beat the price for what you get. We left stuffed! The service was a little slow but it was a busy Friday night. We will be back again.

Sammy P. and I were here during lunch to catch up on stuff. Restaurant was almost empty when we arrived, and was still empty by the time we had left an Hour and half later. I opted for a steak, and Sammy P. had their French Beef Dip sandwich. Total with tax and tip came to $ 43.26. Pros: Portion size was huge for the price. Adequate portion of sides were served along with our orders.(+1) Menu has some unique items like Beef Kabob Teriyaki. Also, the geometry of the meat cut was unlike anything I ever had. The Aluminum hot plate to serve meat was also something different.(+1) Our waitress was there whenever we needed her. Cons: None.

Family owned cozy restaurant ~ We all ordered the steak with baked potatoes and dinner was delicious. The garlic bread was also tastey! Our waitress was very friendly(forget her name). The remodeled bathroom was very pretty and very clean! We love to going there for family dinner.

In it’s heyday during the Reagan administration Steer in was probably the talk of the town. Time has moved on but the Steer Inn hasn’t. This isn’t always a bad thing and the Steer Inn seems to be making it. For me, it is just ok. It reminded me of Cheers, where everyone knows your name. All of the waitresses seemed to know the older crowd of customers that were there. They were talking about their kids, grandchildren, and the events in their lives. This is a far cry from most places that employee the Millennial waiter or waitress that only care how much tip you leave. The steaks were cooked to the temperature as ordered but lacked seasoning. The huge steak fries were a welcome treat. Not too many places still sever the big fries. As for the décor, it is far outdated. We were trying to figure out what the area that now serves as a planter used to be. There is a brass fence lining the area and above is a sky light. It looks as if there used to be a pole there. GoGo dancing in the Inn? Overall good value for what you get. Tip a little extra the ladies that work there care…

Went here years ago(like more than a decade), didn’t like it then. I remember how rubbery the steak was. Ay yay yay. Went here last night and it’s like déjàvu but«nightmarish». It looked exactly the same as I remember it and that’s not a good thing. So we decided to just go somewhere else.

I have been going here for years and it is the perfect example of loving what you know, not branching out, or sticking to the norm. It took some time but finally after many years and actually experiencing and noticing different foods and restaurants I realized that this place is not all it was cracked up to be. There is a favorite here and it is the steak dinner for two. They take a specialty steak and split it up with the salad and sides between two plates. The steak is not good or bad. It is just a cooked piece of meat. There is not much as far as flavor and for the price their really should be. The last time I went here I ordered the half pound burger on garlic bread and French fries with a starter salad. The salad was and always is pretty good. Lettuce is fresh and crisp and the blue cheese dressing is flavorful but not over whelming. The burger however needed some help. When you serve a dry burger patty then slide it between two half inch garlic bread pieces your mouth becomes completely void of saliva. I had to douse that hamburger it in ranch to salvage it. The steak fries, I love steak fries, were good. I would have been plenty happy with a full blue cheese salad and a plate of steak fries. This Steer Inn is hit and miss, some things they do well and some things they just do not. The service is once again lacking. There is kind of cold and lack of personality to the staff. Some excitement can go a long way to make someone’s dining experience enjoyable. I am not meaning to say that the servers need to go, they know their menus and a lot of them have been there for a long time so they know and take care of regulars. I just feel there is cloud looming over darkening the environment there. I do not hate this place; I do not even dislike this place. It can just be better. This used to be a western family steak restaurant but now with no updates in what feels like decades it has become out dated. The space is nice, lots of round booths, and plenty of space for decent size groups. The styling is something that can last forever, as long as it is kept up.

Hands down worst place I’ve ever eaten in my entire life, and I’m from a small town in the Midwest originally before moving to California. My boyfriend and I ordered our steaks medium. They came back not only rare, but the things were basically mooing. We sent them back to the kitchen reluctantly, and when they came back, we weren’t sure what kind of unidentified, tangy substance we were ingesting, but it definitely wasn’t sirloin. It tasted more like what I imagine piss soaked vulture must taste like. I asked for a box for the leftovers for my dog, and my dog wouldn’t even eat it.

We stopped in to catch the end of a game because we were at a softball game in Riverdale Park. Weak draft and bottle selection. Small tvs in bad locations. Odd, eclectic music selection mixed with volume from 2 different tvs — when it was on. It needs an update.

It was a nice meal for coming in at closing time. I ordered the filet mignon which was prepared well but I played around with the potatoes and other sides. The steak didn’t have much flavor and the bacon was falling off but it was a great portion.

Do yourself a favor and go to Sizzler instead! Or Norms! My chicken fried steak looks like a pigeon that’s been frying for 80 days!

I have lived in Anaheim Hills on and off for 21 years, and somehow, I never made it to Steer Inn. Last night was the big night! Wow! Dated décor! I don’t know what I was expecting, but that wasn’t it. But, I suppose if people still come in, why fix what isn’t broken? Our waiter was really nice, but on the slow side. We both decided to order their Specialty Steak, mine with soup, his with salad. You also get some garlic bread and a baked potato — I think you can sub the potato for other items. His salad was literally lettuce and dressing. I am not sure there were even croutons. I’m pretty sure my chicken noodle soup was Progresso canned soup. Not wowed by the soup and salad. Dinner came out, I had ordered my steak medium rare, he had ordered his medium. My steak was actually cooked very well and had a nice, buttery flavor. I think I would go back and get that again. His steak was well done on one half and barely medium on the other. He was disappointed that it was so overcooked. Order medium rare if you want a juicy steak! The baked potato lacked seasoning, even though it had sour cream, butter and«chives»(they were green onions) it was bland and mushy. The garlic bread was hard, tough to chew, and tasteless. Glad my steak was tasty, cause nothing else really did it for me. It’s cool that they have a full bar, maybe we will come back and get steak and some cocktails sometime.

WORSTDININGEXPERIENCEOFMYLIFE!!! We got there just as the dinner rush was starting. So, we put our name in with the hostess. She told us 5 – 10 minutes. About 10 minutes later, we checked in with her because we saw several large parties get seated as they walked in the door. A different girl was there and she said she didn’t know there was a list! That’s how it works… by a list!!! We were seated right away but, then, we sat there with our menus in hand for 15 minutes before we went asked for a server on our own! 15 minutes and no one checked on us! Then, 45 minutes later(I would have left by now but, my father-in-law is more polite than me), after no drink re-fills and no one checking on us, we got up and hunted down the manager. We had to get up because the servers we tried to talk to from the table wouldn’t stop for us. A few minutes later a guy came over, we asked if he was the manager. No manager tonight, he’s the head server… of course! We told him our story and he said he’d check on our food and«maybe» he could give us a discount. AREYOUKIDDING?! At this point, our whole meal should be free and they should offer us dessert! 15 minutes later, our food finally arrives. We ask for boxes and the bill immediately. 10 minutes later, the boxes and bill come and there is no discount of the bill!!! Better believe it, we went and hunted down that head server again. He gave us a whopping 25% off. And to top it all off, the food SUCKED!

I remember going to the Steer Inn in Orange with my grandmother over 25 years ago. They’re still around, so they must be doing something right. In fact, they have this location as well(I don’t know which came first). Anyways, wife was looking for a steak near our house and this popped up and since I had good memories, we decided to give it a try. Just to keep it quick and simple, she got the steak and shrimp combo. She enjoyed it. Steak was cooked fine, baked potato was hot and delicious, bread was a bit under-seasoned, fried shrimp are hard to mess up. The salads we both got before our meals were pretty boring — just lettuce and dressing. Expected maybe a bit more — some carrots, croutons, other accompaniments. As for my dinner, I really couldn’t be more disappointed with the burger. Well, I guess I could. That burger I had at TGIF during Comic-Con was probably the worst burger I’ve ever eaten, but that’s another story. Anyways, the price was right, which should have tipped me off. The big ½ pound burger with fries and salad was just $ 11.50, which is not bad for a sit down place. However, once I got the burger, I found out how they keep prices low. Horrible patties. The patty was advertised on the menu as «medium» unless you ask for something different. This one I got was very well. Not charred, but not juicy at all. Though I think even at medium, coaxing any juice out of a likely frostburned patty straight out of the freezer would be difficult. I just expected more. If you’re a steak house, surely you have extra trimmings you can use to make your own patties. Heck, mix it with ground chuck, I don’t care. Just don’t, for the love of all that is holy with my burgers, buy a pre-formed frozen patty. This thing was perfectly round and hockey-puck shaped and the taste matched. It’s just such a shame since there’s so much more they could do with a burger. But they just don’t care. Sad. The service was top-notch, otherwise I’d probably be at 2 stars. But just avoid the burger, stick to the steak, and you’ll probably be happy with what you get for the price.

Even though this place is under construction it didn’t change the service or quality of the food! Steaks are amazing here as I highly recommend! Got the appetizer which everything was really good except for the chicken fingers Onion rings are made fresh and are a must!

I always get the specialty steak, it’s a sirloin steak overly tenderized so you can’t tell you’re eating a cheap cut of meat. The seasoning is good. For the price it’s a good steakhouse, much better than let’s say a Sizzler. They throw in a soup or salad, buttered bread and choice of potato. I roll with the baked potato. Three stars

Been wanting to try this place for about 4 years now as it’s not far from where I live, so finally went on a Sunday night. And all I can say is, yep, it’s a steak house. Not a fancy steak house like Ruth Chris, just a nice, simple, hasn’t updated its décor since the 70’s kind of a steak place, and I loved it. 1) Super friendly staff. Exactly what you expect from a place like this. 2) Excellent Steak! 3) Excellent Beef! 4) Great portions. Had trouble finishing everything. 5) Excellent Steak Fries! So yeah, we’ll be back.
