The best service and food I’ve ever hand. The staff are awesome. I highly recommend to try the sake. Thank you Jason«the owner«for the best food experience that my brother and I had! I’m looking forward for my next visit.

Great sushi, great prices! However, don’t expect good service from the waiters at lunch time.

Been here for dinner and they have a few sushi and rolls for 50% off. These prices are applicable for TOGO as well. The food was good and fresh. Recommend not to order too much initially and order more food later on if still hungry. The have more sushi per order.

No other owner is as personal and aware of his customers!!! I am blown away by the freindship and quality of food i have gotten here, as certain things are availaable here because the chef knows what he is doing and how to serve. I have made this my home place of sushi and as long as this owner and chef are here i see no reason to go anywhere else.

Amazing private party tonight !! Daniel-San made all our favorites fresh !!! Even the tempura in our rolls was still warm when served. Tempura ice cream. Bomb !! I could eat this all day long !

Since changing ownership the place has gained more regular customers and the atmosphere seems a little more festive. The new owner lowered prices on the standard rolls and individual pieces in turn sacrificing some of the quality. Still my daughters favorite sushi restaurant.

I travel all over southern CA, at minimum 200 miles a day. I’ve been to more sushi places than I can remember. The bottom line is this– This place is the most horrendous sushi joint I have ever been to. Ignore the reviews about the service, who really cares. Whiners care. If you make good sushi roll, that’s all I can ask. This food is terrible. And I mean barely edible, and I’m not picky. I’ll eat gas station sushi if it looks good. Rice sticky and stale Seasoning on big tuna, barely edible 2 rolls on the big tuna had no tuna on it. Tuna seared just enough to taste burned as if done by a bunsen burner Dry scallops Dry spicy tuna — and when I say dry I don’t only mean the rice. I think the place is in business because either the demographic doesn’t know any better and/or it is the only sushi place immediately around. If I lived in the apartments next to it I wouldn’t even walk there. This is first Unilocal review I’ve ever done because I don’t even care about anything. But this pisses me off.

I just got here and I’m already disappointed. I’m here by myself and ordered before the 4 group people that walked in after. I already placed my order and they got water miso soup and water and even got partial of their order. I had to request for a water and a drink.

This place used to have great service.(The owner is nice, but he has to fire some of his lazy waitresses) Today it was horrible. It was so bad I almost lost my cool. I’ll leave it at that.

This place is within walking distance of my house. Pros… 1) Decently priced sushi and average portion sizes. Tasted pretty good too. Cons… 1) Had to ask the waitress three times for some lemon for my water plus she had the personality of a boiled potato. She wasn’t busy at all. 2) I’m not sure about the rice that they used. It wasn’t extremely sticky and lot of ended up in my wasabi dish. I’d return because it is decently priced and convenient but I’d recommend Taiko in Irvine over this place.

They were able to accommodate our large party(there were 8 of us) very quickly. They provide a wide variety of sushi that is fresh. They advertise 50% off but in reality, their rolls are just reasonably priced. This place offers good service and we were pleased with our meal. **They have a minimum of $ 15 when using credit cards

I’ve been coming here for years and experienced the transfer to the new ownership also. The customer service here is amazing and the owners are very nice and talkative. Sushi is amazing, fresh, and they try to hype it up with different fish at times. I highly recommend coming here to try it out. The bar area is small so might not be the best for large parties.

Decent fish for the price, but I would recommend their rolls over their sushi which says quite a bit. Their choice of sauces helps cover the fishiness of their sushi. The service was terribly slow and they brought dishes out of sequence. Our dessert arrived before our order of oysters(seriously?) and they looked at us oddly when we asked them to cancel the oysters. It may have just been issue with one of the waitresses since she was always chewing something when she returned and the other folks seemed to really hustle around. I get that we all deserve a meal break, but please take yours when you are scheduled. I will not be back.

I’m not sure how this place got a 4 star. Here’s why I gave it a 2 star. 1 star — customer service: waitresses were extremely slow to get to a table. We were sitting in the corner, but that’s still not a valid excuse. It took 10 min to get the check. Waitress forgot so one of the supervisors had to check on us again and deliver. 1 star — speed: we were one of the first tables here and we got our food an hour later. We also ordered the oysters but after 30 min of waiting, we asked about it and asked to cancel. They said it was coming out and wanted to deliver it to our table. We declined. 3 star — price: decent price for the cut rolls. We liked the spider and salmon skin hand roll best. The salmon and yellowtail roll was essentially the raw fish, rice and seaweed. The popular nigiri was decent price. It looks like you get a great deal but they hike up the price and then take 50% off, which turns out to be average places. 2 star quality: I’m comparing the quality to standard sushi restaurants bc it would not be a fair comparison if I compared it to a high end like my fav, Ohshima. Some of it was pretty fishy. The yellowtail collar was fishy considering its deep fried. Salmon was just ok. Salmon roe, scallops, albacore(which didn’t come with ponzu like most standard restaurants but we used the ponzu from our collar dish), yellowtail didn’t take fresh at all. It left fishy tastes in our mouths. The salmon, raw shrimp, cooked rolls mentioned above were better though. Overall, I’m not pleased with the place. I won’t be coming back. It’s affordable but I would never compromise the fish quality.

Been here a couple times with my friends and the place is awesome! Great service, great food, and at really fair prices. The owner is a super friendly and funny army vet and second degree black belt that loves to entertain his guests. Ask him for the saki bombs with the samurai sword… ridiculously cool! We will be back.

It’s not really 50% off, but a good way to get more people to come I guess. 1. Salmon It’s really hard to mess up on salmon so its no surprise that the salmon was alright. 2. Tuna Here’s where they messed up, by serving the same watered down, dyed pink garbage excuse for tuna that you see at any all you can eat place. I don’t pay $ 3.75 for all you can eat quality tuna. A good indicator that this place is ran by cheap Koreans. 3. Yellow tail Delicious, great. The cuts were a bit thin but the fish tasted good. 4. Albacore Smothered in sauces and onions the albacore would have tasted better without the extra spices. But this is a common sight among most sushi places. It’s not bad but I appreciate the fish by itself I don’t need onions and sauce to draw out the fishy taste. Would have been nice to have an option. But again its also common to cover up old and low quality fish with sauces. 5. Rainbow roll Was delicious though they ripped me off by having the shrimp and avacado cover two of the 8 pieces and having the really low quality cuts of fish on top. 6. Baked Salmon Roll Delicious sauces smothered all over it, it was great except it was extremely tiny! 7. Tempura roll No crunch. Had to ask for the crunchy stuff to put on top. Tasted good. 8. Other notes Menu design is messy, they should give free edimame since they take a while to serve. Servers are very inattentive and constantly texting and chatting among themselves. Very hard to ask for a refil or order more when they aren’t even in our sight. Had to walk to the register to ask for the bill. Well nothing is wrong with getting up and walking for a change but it means servers weren’t really doing their job. So any tip I give them is undeserved.
