I’ve only tried this place a few times but the food I’ve tried(carne asada tacos, chile verde) has been delicious and very filling. The thing that impressed me about this place was the delivery was on time and the food was still pretty warm.

Delicious food, and great service! Best chips and salsa in Anchorage! The hot sauce actually has a kick to it.

There are so many crappy expensive restaurants with bad service in Alaska. This place is a pure delight. The food is authentic and delicious and the service is unmatched. This place goes the extra mile to make sure you are happy. If your in the mood for Mexican there is nowhere better in Anchorage.

A little suspicious as the tables were likely fold out tables with a cheap cloth over and it was pretty empty around 1pm on a weekend. However, I was quite happy with the food and the coffee was enough to bring me back on its own. Casual environment with friendly staff. I recommend for a relatively cheap, tasty, Mexican meal.

We ordered for delivery a couple of days ago. The service was great! The delivery was pretty decent. We were very surprised at how great the food was! The portions were large and the quality was great. This is our new favorite Mexican place.

A new favorite for Mexican, I really enjoyed the food. The salsas were very fresh tasting and had a nice flavor. I ordered the chicken chipotle and it was creamy and delicious. The guacamole was pretty good and so was the asada burrito we ordered. Everything seemed to be a bit on the salty side but not so much that it was overwhelming. The only negative were the jalapeño poppers, they tasted artificial and processed, but I’m used to eating freshly made ones. Overall, I thought it was really good and I plan on eating there again. Oh, and they deliver which is a nice added bonus.

Two words: Mole Sauce. OK. — it’s not enough for a review but in my book that sums this place up. Pros: Food is delicious. You can ask for no rice and beans but still get a good combo deal price. MOLESAUCEISTHEBEST I HAVEHADINANCHORAGE. The chicken enchilada in mole sauce was so delicious. Cons: If you do not like Mexican cuisine, this place is one big con for you. Place was clean, as another reviewer called it, it’s a «one man show» the cashier, is the waiter, the waiter is the bartender and the bartender tells good jokes. Disclosure: if you are reading this review and look like(‸‶)(what is mole sauce?! — why does it matter?) it’s a sauce that contains magical ingredients, one of which is chocolate and if made right can allow you to see the future. For example, after I took the first bite of my enchilada, I saw that I would be happy and full of good food in the next hour. I was surprised I enjoyed this place as much as I did, but somehow it really set itself apart from other restaurants in its category. Also, the drinks are niiiiice– kinda $$$ but nothing out of the norm.

Went there today for lunch & it was Awesome! The only reason I’m not giving it 5 stars is I asked for the combo on my fajitas. Also needed a to go menu for the guys I work with since I know this will be a hit with them. The salsa is amazing, our server Ramon was very funny, enjoyed his attitude about the super bowl! I will be back!

By far one of the more enjoyable Mexican restaurant to visit. The salsa is great. Usually a tell tale sign if the rest of the experience will be good. I enjoyed a lunch special with a releno, tamale and crispy taco. All we’re tasty and the waiter kept the chips and salsa flowing while we waited for our order. The Booth tables are a bit tricky. Not much room to get into your seat without bumping the legs and knocking drinks over. So, be warned

I went here a few weeks back and was impressed. Pretty good prices, and I was into the«pick one, two, or three» combination options because I feel like lots of mexican restaurants pre-define the combinations and leave little flexibility. the meats were tender/tasty in my enchilada/taco. My friend also enjoyed his 3 item combo and we both commented on how we liked the addition of extra veggies in the rice and the actually spicy, fresh-tasting salsa option. They were a little slow to refill the basket of chips(the night we were there it was a one-man show), and they definitely were not my favorite tortilla chips, but the service was super friendly, quick, and the food was great.

I had high hopes that this place would live up to the drumroll for me, but it really didn’t. I got a little psyched when the«hot» salsa actually was hot. I ordered the carnitas lunch, and asked for a fresh jalapeño on the side. My plate came with pickled ones. Initially disappointed, a fresh one appeared shortly thereafter. My meal was okay, but nothing special. The oddest thing about the experience was the server. Follow on service was not there, water never got refilled, and the check was dropped off with nonchalance. I won’t be back.

I had to go pick up a spare tire at the dealership I bought my car from, and this place was nearby and highly rated, so I decided to try it. First, the chips and salsa come out, and guess what, same tortilla chips every single place in Anchorage uses. I’m pretty sure they’re from Sam’s Club, I dunno, not very good. The salsa, however, tasted like it had been made in the restaurant earlier in the day. If they’re using salsa from a jar, they totally fooled me. Excellent taste, a nice little kick, cilantro, but not too much cilantro. Very good salsa. I ordered the lunch combo, beef enchilada and chile relleno for less than $ 10. The food arrived, and I took a bite of the rice first, then the beans. The rice was soft, fluffy, and flavorful. There were a few lima beans mixed in with the rice. The beans tasted like they were refried in the restaurant, so either that’s the way they do it, or they buy really high quality canned stuff. The beef enchilada exceeded where so many enchiladas fail, the seasoning on the beef. It was very tasty. The poblano pepper used in the relleno had thick, perfectly cooked skin, and wonderful melted cheese. Just an absolute home run.

Probably the best«sit down» style Mexican restaurant in Anchorage. This space has seen a lot of traffic. I can say that because I haven’t been in Anchorage for very long and even I’ve seen some turnover. I hope this place stays. Food comes with proper table service and proper chips and salsa. The gentleman that served me was so friendly that I would guess he may be an owner/manager.(I came at an oddball time) I got the steak ranchero and it came on a big hot plate, with a little bit of everything. Great portion, perfectly filling, choice of tortillas. Only complaint is that I wish that had a spicier/hotter salsa option.

I really hope this place gets enough business to stay afloat. El Dorado is fairly new, located in a building that has seen a wide range of restaurants over the years. We went for lunch, and spent several minutes standing awkwardly at the front waiting to be noticed. As it turns out, this is a family-run operation and the family member entrusted with hosting had decided to go hang out in the back and not tell anyone. Oops. However, upon being noticed by the man who I can only assume was the owner, he busted his back end in making sure we had a great experience. And we did indeed! I want to start by saying that I judge Mexican restaurants very harshly on whether or not they make their salsa, and whether it’s any good. This place does make it, and the spicy salsa is ACTUALLY spicy! Top marks. I ordered the chipotle lunch, which was wonderful. They offer both chicken and steak(with no price difference!) and the owner/cook didn’t hesitate for a moment when I asked for half-steak-half-chicken. We were served very quickly and it was delicious. Although the service is kinda terrible so far, I can tell that the«guy in charge» is working VERY hard to run a successful business, and he clearly has the food to support it. With a few more customers, hopefully he will be able to hire more dependable staff. Give it a shot — you’ll be happy.

Best Mexican restaurant in Alaska! Being Hispanic and from Arizona I thought it was going to be impossible to find authentic Mexican food so far from home. I was wrong! Not only is the food amazing the employees make the experience great.

I don’t know why we are the first to review this place. My husband and I are from Cincinnati, and ever since moving here we have been trying to find good Mexican food. Finally we found a great place ;) Great service! And the food was excellent ;) One of the better Mexican restaurants in Anchorage that we have found ;) Pretty reasonably priced. My husband had the Seafood Tacos and I had a combination dinner — enchilada and chimichanga. All of it was good :)
