This place has nice outdoor seating downtown. Went on s Friday night and it wasn’t too busy. There was live music on the deck which was a nice touch. Our server was very attentive and friendly. I had the nachos and they were decent. Good variety of menu items. The place has a fun casual vibe. I would return here again for the location, outdoor seating and good service. Would recommend to a friend.

Salmon Chowder is amazing– after trying the salmon chowder at multiple locations in Anchorage and surrounding areas I feel confident saying this is the BEST around! We sat at the bar and our server was friendly and helpful. I would come back to Anchorage just to have the salmon chowder– maybe I could get them to ship me some in Hawaii ;)

I wanted the manager to aware that my friends and I went to slippery 4 adults and 1 child auto grat of 18% gratuity. That is so ridiculous no where on the menu does it say automatic gratuity of 18% added. Usually that happens with parties of 8 or more. I hope you make it right and take the automatic gratuity away especially when I had to wait 30 minutes for a beer and over 30 minutes for some coconut shrimp

The food was just ok… deep fried ribs were good but the watermelon barbecue sauce was strange to say the least.

7am — Walked just looking for a hot cocoa and then the server handed me a menu with Eggs Benedict square in the center. I’m a sucker for a good EB and asked about them. Martha, the manager, was my server. She said they make the hollandaise from scratch. So I gave ‘em a shot — wow — so glad that I did. The hollandaise was indeed from scratch and the eggs were perfect. Bathroom was clean, but needs some maintenance. Cracked missing tiles Etc. I’ll be back. 5 stars for the great breakfast, — 1 star for the restroom

Man, I am disappointed by how downhill the Salmon has gone. I really used to enjoy it, and would look forward to meeting friends on the deck. I knew it was declining in quality and service when I would start meeting people there, and would be embarrassed by how disappointing their experience was, as I had really given such a great review of the place. Prices increased, the food quality and portions have stayed the same or worsened, the service is hit or miss(but when it’s a hit, it’s a real hit). Their coffee is really, really, really bad. When it’s palatable to drink, but just barely, that’s when you know it’s the best they can do. I’ve had room temperature coffee at the strength of a weak black tea with a film of suspended coffee grounds quite visible served to me on more than one occasion. Their prices and portions are all over the map. I got charged the full price for an item when I asked for only a side of one thing — so I got the full price experience for about ¼ of what the actual dish consisted of. The prices for some of their side dishes, like veggies or mac-and-cheese, which used to be really reasonable, are almost double for what they used to charge and are the same sizes. The quality hasn’t been that great, and they’ve been quite inconsistent on their morning breakfast offerings. I would now only recommend this place for their great deck and a drink. At least the beer and wine don’t have to be prepared, and would probably be fine with just some bar-style snacks, but I can’t say I enjoy it much any more.

When we, a party of 6 including two children, entered the restaurant, there were only two people dining and they already had there food. The bartender/waitress came and took drink orders and indicated that the bartender had left and she was on her own. It took over 15 minutes to get two mixed drinks, a glass of wine, and 6 waters. One of the mixed drinks was wrong. She then took our dinner orders, which included two orders of liver and onions. Over 30 minutes later, the cook(he was NOT dressed as a chef) came out and informed us that they did not have liver, but that he had all of the other dinners done. We ordered the halibut and chips. It took another 15 minutes before any food came out. One halibut was so overcooked it had pulled away from the breading, likely the one that was already done 15 minutes ago. The two rib-eyes(supposedly 12 oz, but no way, it was less than a ½ in thick, more like a breakfast steak) were to be rare and med-well. They both looked like shoe leather. We sent the«rare» one back. Through out all of this, I think only 4 other customers ever came in, so it was definitely not busy. To the waitressed credit, she charged us only the«liver» price for the halibut, but still it was absolutely not a good dining experience. It was our first, and our last, visit.

If you want To go somewhere and hear the game, eat good food… this place had the best chicken casadilla I’ve ever had. Plus free parking downtown!

Great Food! I loved their brunch! Not to mention they sold me a bottle of champagne and gave me free orange juice instead of making me pay for each individual mimosa. Great benedicts! Great atmosphere!

My boyfriend and I have conflicting opinions on this place. He isn’t a fan– on the other hand, I am. We’ve been here a couple times and I love it, but in the name of writing a fair review, I’m also going to share why he doesn’t. His overall complaint is that he can’t figure out what exactly ‘they’re going for’. Are they a bar? Are they a grill? Are they a diner? It’s hard to tell. They have comfort food options, but also some finer seafood options. They have indoor and outdoor seating. There’s a bar area and a pretty good array of alcoholic beverages– including many local beers on tap. The décor is very unique with wooden tables in the shape of tree slabs, rustic décor, and TVs(which leads to the next question– are they a sports bar?). He just doesn’t like that he can’t figure out what they’re going for. On top of that they’re almost never busy and they’re located in an area that makes them relatively hard to find. I like the fact that they’re not busy, they’re quiet, and you can have a nice conversation without hollering over a crowd of people. I love the décor, and I love the food. In fact– I love the entire place in general. It’s a unique little diner/bar/eatery that can’t quite be defined and that’s why I like it so much. It’s appropriate for families, date nights, work groups, and friend hang-outs. There’s great outdoor seating in the summertime and comfy indoor seating the rest of the time. The menu ranges in options with everything from Mexican to seafood to comfort foods. Every time I’ve been there the servers have been immaculate. They’re very professional, prompt, and get the orders correct 100% of the time. They’re courteous and interact with all customers in a way that makes them feel comfortable. They’re also very well-informed on the menu and drink options and can make great recommendations. My boyfriend and I have also eaten here with his family when they came to visit Alaska. The two kids under 12 both loved the place. Most of the adults did as well. The salmon was a bit dry, but aside from that everyone else loved their meals. The salmon chowder soup was a huge hit– and I have to recommend it. The place is great for an early evening date night meal and lunch with friends or coworkers. I love the staff, I love the décor, and I love the food. I’ll be back in the future, even if my boyfriend doesn’t want to come with me.

This place was near our hotel. It was raining real hard, we walked about a block to have a bite to eat. They have a lot of local beers on tap. Had a salad and everything was very fresh and good. The tables are built from big chunks of birch wood and birch logs. Just gorgeous. Service was fast, staff was friendly.

Solid choice-off the beaten path! No waiting-but limited seating– patio looks great for nice weather. Service was prompt for the 4 of us and the waitress was very accomodating. Portions were good size but that seems true for most of the restaurants in ALASKA. My picks– the SEAFOODCHOWDER(favorite not too be missed!) — not too thick and very flavorful! The Chicken caeser salad was heavy on the dressing… so I would NOT order that again. The Halibut was good and not too dry– the vegetables were seasoned well but a bit over cooked and sloppy. Would prefer my vegetables to not be overcooked or they are left limp. Mix of salads, seafood, and comfort food. Looked like a good selection of beers and I could have had one since I was walking but … did not.

One of the best outdoor places to eat in Anchorage. The burgers are good — not the best in town, but not the worst either. They have a good beer selection, with plenty of Alaska Beers. My one comment here is — if you are going here — the place is on the corner of 3rd and A. A St. is one way and you won’t be able to get into the parking lot if you are on A St. Make sure you take Cordova or on of the other streets down to 3rd so you can get into the parking lot.

A little off the beaten path, so don’t fret that it is a lot less busy than some of the places on the main drag. Prices are fair and they have a nice selection of Alaskan fresh fish and some other less delicious stuff for the picky eaters. Salmon chowder is excellent if they happen to have it when you go. Beer selection is very good. Halibut tacos were the only letdown at the table. King crab special was really well priced and delicious. Sit on the patio if the weather permits.

Came here with a group of friends as we wanted a causal restaurant with good beer on tap. I tried both the battered halibut and king crab legs. They were fresh and delicious. I also liked that they had a lot of local beer on tap. The Kassiks IPA was great and I also enjoyed the Denali Agace Gold. It is fun to try beer that I cannot get at home. Our server was attentive and it was an enjoyable dining experience.

Today’s brunch at the Slippery Salmon was the worst restaurant experience I’ve had in years. If you hate eating and love rude service, it might be up your alley. I noticed the nice deck area during the Pirate Pub Crawl, and thought this beautiful, sunny day would be the perfect time to enjoy it. First off, the waitress should just wear a t-shirt that says«0 fucks to give.» It was at least 15 minutes before she greeted us(briefly and coldly). We ordered drinks and some food, then it was 25 minutes before the drinks arrived — for the make-your-own Bloody Mary bar. Huh? Are sloths working behind the bar? You just put some vodka and ice in a glass! The guest does the rest! The waitress set them down and didn’t say a thing. I can understand a place being slower when it’s packed, but it’s pretty inexcusable when there are 8 people total in the entire place. As we went inside to make our drinks, there were 4 employees in the bar area standing around. We asked if our food had been started, and got a straightforward but confusingly unhelpful«No.» Half of our group asked if they could cancel their food order, because they needed to get to another engagement and feared they wouldn’t have time to eat once the food finally arrived. Meanwhile, the table next to us got food, but no utensils. Or napkins. With no staff in sight, they finally went inside to get it themselves. Ms. Zero Fs finally came out with our eggs bene and omelette. Finally! Hangry no more! Wrong. I dug into the first bite, and noticed a thick, black hair on the plate. I pulled on it, and it was wrapped in the eggs and hollandaise, at least 6 inches long. That was the cue to give up and go elsewhere. We told the waitress about the hair, and she nonchalantly mumbled«sorry.» Nothing else. The one good thing she did was take it off the bill. The gyro at the Downtown Market was well priced, delicious, and ready in minutes. I highly recommend it.

I do not recommend this restaurant. The halibut sandwich was worse than a fast food joint, and the staff was slow and rude. The worst part was that it wasn’t even cheap. After two of us got a drink and a sandwich the bill was $ 50. Save your time and money by going to Humpys, Sherries, or the White Spot.

Good food, great vegetables, good salmon. Server was new, and preferred chatting to working. Luckily, the bartender was right on it and very good. Relative to other places in Anchorage, a find.

Since we were staying at the Ramada Inn next door, it was appropriate to eat there. We started out our meal with a cup of salmon chowder which was delicious. My wife had the salmon dinner and I had the beer battered halibut dinner, both of which were great. Service was very good.
