What a great place to have dinner in Anchorage. We had the shrimp&lobster soup and the fillet mignon, both excellent. As dessert we had the cheesecake and the velvet cake — so tasty and good. The service was amazing, so kind, helpful and attentive — we had Caleb as our waiter. We’ll come back!

Great place and service. One of the best steaks I have had in recent years and I am not even a big steak person. Also, their bread was very good.

If you plan to order the shrimp and lobster bisque be forewarned that you’ll only get a swallow. I’m here from out of town for a conference, so I ordered to-go after a long day at my conference. I received a cup less than 1⁄3 full of the bisque. I genuinely thought it was a mistake so I called the restaurant when I arrived at my hotel. After being disconnected once and placing the call again, I asked if it’s custom to give a cup of bisque that is far less than half filled. They replied: yes, because the container is 14oz but the serving size is 8oz(there’s no way the portion was in the to-go cup was more than 4oz). I would’ve requested a refund but I didn’t feel like walking back. The soup is okay. I’ll never go back again. I would’ve been better off going to hotdog on a stick. Wish I could give a 0 score.

I must say, this place has amp’d it up since my last visit. Aside from the remodel, the food is really good. My husband had the Long Bone Rib Eye, expensive but worth it. Their hamburger and fries, macaroni and cheese, blue cheese meat loaf, mash potatoes, all delish. Very satisfied. Disregard my last review. Glad I gave this place a second chance.

Sullivan’s is a steak house. Yes. But I am not crazy about steak so I usually order something else. I can hear my father saying: It’s a steak house. Order a steak. Nothing better than a fillet. But I love sea food. My fav is the shrimp cocktail. Perfect. The wasabi sauce burns the nostrils. I ordered the fish and chips. It was haddock. Not on the top three of my preferred fish, but it was tender and nicely seasoned. The rest of my group had the American burger and the roasted chicken. Very good. Great presentation and everyone was satisfied. Our server Tyler was very nice and attentive. I had to order a Moscow Mule which was very ginger tasting and delicious on this gorgeous Saturday. My summer drinks usually include hot water, this summer has been different. Sullivan’s had their one year anniversary since the remodel. You will love the light filtering through the restaurant and the new fixtures. It has definately opened up the space. The biggest problem is: calories! I’m not walking extra miles tonight.

We stopped by Sullivan’s for a martini after the passing of my brother in law /(sister in laws husband). We just needed a moment before going to meet the family post, «Celebration of life» ceremony. Our waitress Sasha asked us how are day was going. Clearly it wasn’t the best. After hearing my sister in law state what the day held, Sasha immediately said that Kari’s drink was on her. She gave her a hug and then proceeded to listen to my sister in law talk about her husband. I can’t put into words how amazingly sweet and needed that was. Her kindness and love was much appreciated. Thank you!

This is a really nice steakhouse. The interior is warm and cozy inside and the bar area is beautiful. We started with a order of Calamari. It had a sauce on it which I liked but my husband thought it was too sweet. We ordered Filets with asparagus. The steaks were nice and charred on the outside and just right inside. The service is very attentive also. We will be back the next time we are in Anchorage.

I came in for a drug rep dinner on a Tuesday evening. I have been a speaker to many steakhouses all over the country so I kinda know the routine. It wasn’t crowded and our room was ready within 5 – 10 mins of the timeslot. Ambience: It had a really nice décor. Not over the top and too stuffy. They had a live singer in the bar/lounge area and the musice was able to be piped in to the different rooms. It really gave it a nice vibe. I stayed lounger at the bar just to hear her sing and it was really nice. The private room was a decent size and could easily fit 12 – 15 people. Once the door was closed, you couldn’t hear the outside noise at all. Great room for a meeting or presentation. Service: This was what made the evening great. Brian(our server) quickly introduced himself and proceeded to handle everything by himself. He took care of the AV. He explained the menu and went beyond to give us his recommendation. He was quick and efficient with the service. He knew exactly how to handle a dinner presentation. Because of him, everything went smoothly and flawless. Everyone else at the restaurant was also nice and gracious. He has been the best server that I have encountered and I would not hesitate to return to hold a dinner event here. Food: Our selection was limited to filet, salmon, and chicken($ 100 pre set). I opted for the lobster bisque at Brian’s recommendation and it was really really good. It was creamy and full of seafood. Great flavor. My filet was cooked medium/rare(a tad too much rare for me) and I would have probably opted for a «plus» to it. It was flavorful but just had a tad too much grist. The side dishes were really good. The potato au gratin had some bacon in it that made it extra flavorful. The mac n cheese was also creamy/gooey. I would have opted for just one of those and then maybe some greens. But I didn’t order. Dessert was a choice between warm chocolate cake and crème brûlée. I love crème brûlée, but after trying it, would have probably opted for the chocolate cake. All in all, it was a great experience. A really nice place to have a dinner event. I would return just for the great service and the lounge act.

I was visiting AK for a week as part of a longer trip. Went to Sullivan’s on a recommendation, with my wife and 2 kids(10 and 9 yo). Sat for at least 10 minutes on a Monday night, having noted that the staff outnumbered the customers by 3 to 2, in restaurant week. Having not even been offered a glass of water, we got up and were walking out before one of the drones came and intercepted us. You get one chance at a first impression Sullivans, and your first impression given was self-indulgence and shit service.

Sullivans steakhouse has been great to my girlfriend and I in the past. We used to like going to the bar there when we go downtown. Not anymore, I will find a new place to spend my money. THEATMOSPHERE: The restaurant was less than a quarter full and we did not have a reservation, there were 2 of us. We were stuck in a large corner booth near the kitchen. I had to scoot passed 3 – 4 seats to sit near my girlfriend. The legroom was horrid. I could barely squeeze into my seat and I am not a large person. In hind sight we should have requested another table or left right then. The décor was contemporary as they recently finished a remodeling. The lighting was low. It could have been a great spot for a nice meal as we intended. However, this was ruined by rude conversation by employees within earshot of us. THESTAFF: The hostess at the door didn’t greet us. I asked for seating for 2 and she looked over the dining room and then lead us to the lousy table. The waiter initially pulled the excess dishes from table leaving the dishes not in front of my girlfriend and I. He spoke softly and didn’t smile much. He didn’t add to the experience much, but he did fill my water glass every time it was empty. A managers were talking among themselves near the kitchen when we arrived. I was taking in the ambience of the place when I heard someone in the kitchen say something about getting a lap dance; the manager wasn’t phased. It degraded the experience drastically. THEFOOD: As someone who enjoys good food and has an interest in culinary arts and cuisine I wasn’t very impressed. They were not shy with salt and used it to excess. It detracted from the actual flavor of the food. We started with the calamari. It was sweet, salty, and slightly sour. I was disappointed with the sauce they used. It was over powered by salt and the actual calamari seemed hidden. For our main course my girlfriend and I chose to split an order of the lamb and chicken. The presentation was nice and the food was hot. The lamb was dripping with/bathing in another extremely salty sauce. I had to scrape it off the meat to taste the lamb, but decided to save an appetite for the chicken and stopped eating it. The chicken was served with couscous and was much better than the lamb; however, salty. Overall, the plates of food had great presentation but they lacked culinary quality. OVERALL: Eating at Sullivans is a very disappointing experience. The staff was unfriendly and had rude conversations within ear shot of the dining area. The food flavor was masked by salt. I would NOT recommend this restaurant to anyone seeking a fine dining experience. The prices speak fine dining but the atmosphere, staff, and food scream cafeteria.

Meh… honestly I do not see what’s so special about this place. I can imagine that for a date night it’s a nice looking place but the food just does not own up to the atmosphere. Maybe this establishment is better for a drink, but in my opinion not for food. The two times I have been here the food temperature has not been adequate. I ordered a lobster bisque and it was just slightly warm, it would’ve been nice of it was warmer but who knows it might have been sitting in the kitchen for a while before it got to our table. The staff is nice but somewhat standoffish and not genuine, I felt that their interaction with our table was scripted to say the least. Overall I can see this restaurant being nice for drinks, but foodwise it could use some spunk. I expect a place this good looking to also have delicious food.

The place for dinner on Valentines Day with wonderful food, great service, and fantastic live music. You need reservations but it is worth it.

Stuck exclusively to the specials tonight. A lobster — cargo appetizer which was lobster done like escargot with a slab of cheese melted over the top with 2 toasts. Incredible. Then a twin filet special, one with crab on top and the other with a wine sauce. Plus a twice baked potato. Didn’t expect a twice baked potato to be impressive, but it clearly was. Service was first rate. Wouldn’t change a thing.

I had the Cowboy Cut Ribeye and French onion soup. Both were very good and the hospitality was above average. Kalab, my server, was very cordial and answered all of my questions. I will definitely be back to Sullivan’s Steakhouse.

Went again tonight with family and, not only was the service impeccable, the food was amazing from appetizers and drinks all the way through a delectable dessert. The sprouts were unbelievable! Calamari and meatballs were perfect.

Firstly, their renovation is beautiful and I can definitely see myself having drinks(and only drinks) at the bar in the future. However, we had dinner in the bar, and were very disappointed with everything after we ordered. I made the unfortunate choice of choosing a small table next to the service station, so I got to have my table jostled constantly and heard some unprofessional conversations while eating. Our drinks were prompt, but after we ordered our steaks and one side, we waited for an hour. No waitress check in, and we got to watch our neighbors eat their meals and leave. We also listened to another table request to speak to a manager, so we were glad we weren’t the only ones in such a situation. Our steaks, when they finally arrived, was underwhelming and dry, for the price and the dry-aging it claimed to have. Personally, I’m not going to take another chance on the food, because such a high price tag for our experience is just not worth it.

Sullivan’s really stepped up their customer service game. I was quite impressed last Friday when we dined in for our cousins birthday. It’s usually the bar side that we always have customer service issues with, rarely on the dining side. But I wanted to share how great our waiter was on Friday. I had ordered the king crab mac and cheese(seasonal item), but it didn’t appear that have any crab in it(just had very small chunks all the way at the bottom). I had asked the waiter if this was the regular mac and cheese or the king crab one. He said it was the king crab one, and should contain 2oz of king crab. And without any hesitation he offered to bring me out some more king crab. He came back to the table with 4oz of king crab for me! Now that is customer service. I know most waiters should probably just argue that its in there and would have done absolutely nothing. So I really appreciated him doing that without me even asking for anything. We had an awesome dinner and everyone left happy. Thanks for a great time Sullivan’s!

So far, I’ve been to one amazing steakhouse in my life(though I have had excellent steak at non-steak houses). Sullivan’s was not it. The space aspires to fine dining, with great lighting, modern décor, and even some excellent live jazz music in the bar. The prices aspire to fine dining, rivaling the best menus in town. However, the food does not live up to the fine dining promise, and it was nowhere good enough to justify the expense. My special filet trio appetizer was $ 53 dollars, for filet three ways, a total of 12 ounces of meat. A freaking price travesty! They cooked it right to temp, and the Gorgonzola garlic butter on one and Bearnaise on the others were well-executed. However, the cuts were uneven and looked somehow smooshed. There was a bit of charring on the outside the bordered on burnt in flavor on the ends. I could have gotten the same portion of aged meat, with better cuts, that would have been tender and more flavorful at at least two other places in town for less than that. The hubs meat, also cooked correctly to temp order, came to him sliced, which is very unusual for a good steak, and both looked and tasted more like something one would get from a buffet(granted, a higher-end one). Both the garlic horseradish mashed potatoes and the sauteed spinach sides were fine, but again, ridiculously overpriced. I did really enjoy the key lime pie dessert, and while their red over heels martini was a bit too sweet even for my cocktail sweet-tooth, it was well made and decently sized(considering the cost, which at $ 12 is 2 – 3 dollars more than some of the best cocktails I’ve had in town). The only actually bad thing we were served was the shrimp cocktail for the hubs prix fixe. One of them had black on the end and didn’t look good at all – something they should have checked before serving. We had to send it back, but the replacement was fine. All in all, the word that keeps coming to me to describe this experience is fine. I would probably have even rated it a 3.5 simply because the food all tasted fine and the service was fine. But the prices really dropped it all down. When I pay that much money for food, I expect excellence. When I left, all I could think about was how I could have had a much better meal for the same price elsewhere in town. I don’t think I’ll return any time soon(though I might for just a drink at the bar because I did enjoy the music and atmosphere).
