I knew this place had been around for years and it’s was the pick for my lunch meeting(not by me). I had hair in my sweet potato fries. What more is there to say? I think I’m being generous by giving it 2 stars because my party seemed to enjoy their meals. Also, the business could’ve possibly saved a customer by offering a gift card of some sort instead of a comp(or both since I didn’t order much to begin with) which may have compelled me to come back and try again instead of leave with an awful lasting impression.

I went to Cattle Company with the Grandparents because they wanted steak. Personally, when I see a full parking lot at a place like Cattle Company when so many small, local businesses just down the street are struggling to survive makes me really sad inside. The lobster was rubbery and overcooked, the steak and sides were under-seasoned, and the table bread was cold by the time it got to the table. The only reason I am giving them 2 stars instead of 1 is that the waitress was amazing. My advice; take the money you would have spent at Cattle Company and buy 3 dinners at a local place.

I guess this is what happens when you don’t make a reservation on Graduation Day. I’ve only been to Cattle Company a few times, so few I don’t remember my last experience there. Restaurant was dead should have been first sign. There was a group of us, about eight to be exact that made a 5:45 reservation. We did not get seated till 6:15.(Why do you make reservations)? The female server that we had was extremely slow. We had to ask for a booster seat three time. Water cups sat empty on the table. A side of blue cheese took enough time that I was able to finish my salad without it. Our food took anywhere between 30 – 40 minutes to get to the table. Half of my group was going to see a live showing of Peter Pan and was going to be late because there was just no regard for time. It’s 7:25 we just got food. All our food had to be taken to-go now. Ewww. To top it off you could tell steaks had sat as their was dry juice on the plates, that where hotter than hell! I talked to the manager on duty(Chris) he took 15% off our bill and a kids meal. Thanks. Definitely not going to make up for the $ 400 spent on Peter Pan tickets but it was worth a try. Do not go to Cattle Company for good service, or food. So sad.

Food was very good and fresh. Had a salad and margarita. Service was very prompt and friendly. Not sure why the bad reviews it was a nice stop.

This place wasn’t busy at all and it was later in the day when we went. It took an hour for my filet mignon to come out and to my disappointment was very dry and burnt even though I asked for it medium well. We end up returning it, they said this wasn’t the first time that day food was returned. Won’t be returning.

I’ve been coming here off and on for many years. I don’t think I’ve ever had a good meal in all those attempts. I won’t even consider going unless someone makes the poor decision to have a birthday dinner or some other occasion that dictates my presence here. I could literally write a book about how bad this place is. There is not a single aspect of any quality steakhouse that they manage to pull off. People please… Stop inviting me to birthdays here, and thank you, but no, I don’t want a gift card. Get me anything else for Christmas… Like… A dust pan… or a bag of gravle. Thanks!

My wife and I had dinner at the Cattle Company tonight. We enjoy it for lunch and find the service and the food to be very good. Tonight was a different experience. We arrived at 4:50 expecting to be able to have dinner and leave by 6:15 or so. When we entered the restaurant, the hostess took our names and told us to sit down and wait. There wasn’t a friendly greeting or a smile. We sat in the lobby for 15 minutes while groups who arrived after us were seated before our party of two. Once we were seated, our waitress was very pleasant, but obviously stressed because of the number of tables she was serving. It was not her fault, but once we ordered, it took an exceptionally long time to be served. The meal was fine, but the service was slow. It was not a server problem, but obviously a kitchen problem. At one point, we were sure that the chefs had quit. Our meal arrived at 6:15, about 1.5 hours after arriving at the restaurant. By that time, we had to rush our meal, and take«doggie bags» home. Then the waitress who had done a good job under the circumstances, made a large mistake on our bill. I am a pretty positive guy, but this was really a negative experience. The lunches are good, but it will be a long time before we return for dinner.

The food wasn’t bad, service was decent, but the atmosphere was so weird! I don’t want to go back. It was Valentine’s Day dinner and very crowded, yet the restaurant was super quiet. Not a romantic dinner quiet… an AWKWARD dinner type of quiet. We ate as fast as we could then paid and left. Just an odd vibe in there. Our food was pricey but decent. Not large portions like most steakhouses.

Not a fan. We went during an off time, so you’d expect our service to be decent. Quite the contrary. From what I gathered, the *one* server they had working was on break, off grabbing coffee, so we(and the one other family there) had to wait. Once we were seated, service was slow. Our waiter was attentive– to the hostess. We felt ignored and the food was lackluster. I do not have any plans to come back in the future.

We ate here last night and had the special…1 appetizer, 2 entrees,&1 dessert for $ 62.00. We thought this was a great value and definitely worth it! I had the filet and my husband the rib eye. Both steaks were perfect. Our server started off a bit slow but improved after we ordered! We’ll be back next time we are in Anchorage

Good food and good service. Bathrooms leave something to be desired, sinks looked like they haven’t been cleaned in a year, mildew all around the faucet and under the mirror. Needs some updates and cleaning desperately and it would be 5 stars.

I have had better steak, at a better price, at a chain restaurant… We arrived and we’re immediately seated by the manager who was very accommodating of our children and friendly. We had a party of 4 adults a child and an infant. Our server was Joe. We were greeted as we sat down and promptly placed our standard starting drink order of waters all around. It took less than 10 minutes for our drinks to be served at which point we were all ready to order. One critique I have is that it took way too long for the bread to come to our table and when it did, it was a single small loaf that my child could probably have eaten, and then never received any further rounds of bread. Also my father in law and I ordered a Pepsi before getting the bread and Joe was very attentive to all of our refills often bringing refills before our drinks got past half full. My wife and I ordered the dinner for two(wagon wheel appetizer sampler, 12oz Ribeye, Porkchop, Au Gratin potatoes, sweet potato fries, loaded baked potato, Caesar salad) and chicken tenders for our son. Our parents ordered the Ribeye meal to share with shrimp on top. The meal took over an hour to come out, and when it did my parents Ribeye was overcooked and with out it’s shrimp garnish. It took a little doing but we finally got a new steak on the way. My wife and I enjoyed our food. The Ribeye that I ordered was mediocre on flavor and thickness, However the temperature was perfect(medium). All the sides were great with special props to the Caesar salad, larger than any side salad I have ever seen and the dressing was delicious. The appetizer was good, I don’t like cocktail shrimp so I won’t hold that against them. Everything else on there was great, especially the fried zucchini. The deserts were great, we had the cheesecake and the red velvet cake. All in all this experience would have been a 4 star if the problem with my father in laws food didn’t happen or was solved quicker and easier. But overall decent food and good service.

Food was great but the service was terrible. Waited 20 minutes for a waitress to bring a bottle of wine and take our order. Then we waited 30 minutes and our salad never appeared. A manager asked if we had a problem and he said the salads would arrive soon. The salad arrived as our hot main course was served. That was about 50 minutes of just sitting around and waiting for some service. The food was really good but the service was TERRIBLE. The waitress even came out to the parking lot asking for her copy of the signed credit card slip. I left it on the table but she had already lost it. Bad Service. Won’t be going back for a while.

Let me first of all say the food was great. I had a full order of ribs they were best I’ve had in ages. But let me say the service was the worst. Chelsea should be taken OFF the floor. Not only was my service is bad, but the manager had to come to the table next to me and apologized for problems with their meal. Another table trying to cash out stood at the bar for 10 minutes before a customer went to the back to let Chelsea know she had customers waiting to pay. I spoke to the hostess about this, she offered to get the manager I declined. I was told she had six tables, that may be part of the issue. Not acceptable. If you have too many customers you better be paying more attention to them or get help. I will be back for the food and if I see Chelsea I will ask to be reseated.

Do not. REPEAT Do not order the lettuce wedge. The Lettuce wedge is how this restaurant gets rid of their less than desireable looking lettuce. Brown, wilted, flat out nasty. Its a wedge. You cut it open and can see the inside is brown mush. They lather it with soooo much blue cheese you can’t see it. I’ve just given up on it. Is it the server who makes the salad? If so… that is a sad statement. Went there recently. Had a very experienced waiter, the guy must have been there 20 years or close. Hate every time I have this guy. He tries hard, has all the canned lines, etc. etc. Wants everyone to ready with their side choices so we do not inconvenience him I guess. He is very important and his time is of the utmost priority. No straw with drink. Ask for straw. … sit… wait… No Straw… wait more. Ask for straw again… He notices drinks are low. … Says he will bring them… comes to table twice between drink refill is provided. Give me a break. Steak was decent Potato Pancakes are nasty!!! I think I keep going here as I have great memories as a kid with my family. Sad, the place just sucks. If you ever order the bake potato soup and it is very thin… it’s a week old.

Honestly, I don’t even know what to say about the food: blah to bad food, great customer service, once in a blue moon.. on a VERYVERY blue moon, their Ribeye Steaks are delicious and perfect. But here is the thing, I’m not going to drop $ 35 per plate(not including drinks) to play Russian roulette with the quality of the food at the time. These folks also have a bad habit(like Sullivan’s steakhouse) to smother the meats with cheese and all these ingredients that take the possibly good tastes of the steak away. I have no idea when this became the norm, but it sucks and I don’t like it.

ANCHORAGE: Came here with some business associates for lunch. After seeing the rating my expectations were very low, and I was pleasantly surprised by the fare. The place is quite commercial/derivative: its owned by a big chain conglomerate, has a menu that rarely changes and has the charm of an ad in the local Sunday paper, like a Chilis restaurant. However, my meal and that of my companions was all quite good. The ambience and service were both just fine. We had a quick, friendly server and a sizeable booth. FOOD Grilled Vegetable Salad(4 stars): Came with big chunks of filet Mignon and the vegetables were quite good. Shrimp Tacos(4 stars): Lots of good fixins, good tortillas and generous avocado with chipotle aoli. Fried Zucchini Slices(4 stars); Crisp and flavorful with cucumber aoli. Yum. Good meal, would not be offended to return.
