Poor service & grossly overpriced food. Awesome location for a cocktail on the deck, especially on warm summer evenings.

Best seafood tacos I have ever had! Service was so so. I will come back for sure. Beautiful view and fun to watch float planes.

Went to this restaurant for the first time yesterday, for breakfast. I ordered bacon and eggs. The food came out quickly, which was nice. And the wait staff was very attentive. The food was okay. Not the best tasting breakfast potatoes I have ever had, but was alright. I thought the prices were a little high for the amount of food that you got. Cool view from the table though.

2.75 out of 5. Here is the thing – its a nice view outside, the servers are friendly and attentive, the food comes out in no time. That is all fine and dandy. Every other entrée my party had ordered was satisfying and up to par. I wish the same could have been said for the seafood tacos another person and myself had ordered. Sounds pretty straightforward. Seafood tacos. A medley of seafood in a soft corn tortilla with some sort of blend of seasonings. What we got: rubbery microwaved corn tortillas with a tough circumference we had no choice but to tear away from the rest of the tortilla. Whole shrimp that sorta just fell out of the taco. There was no bite to the whole thing. It fell apart. You could only taste each item separately instead of the whole symbiosis. It holds you back from enjoying the damned thing. You know, like when you try to eat a slice of pizza and there are toppings so obnoxiously huge that they fall off the pizza, so you only really eat the smaller topping? Then you have to have the large toppings separately? Anyway – the seasoning on this was blotchy – some of them had no seasoning, the others just table salt on the shrimp, and way too much. No cumin or any other seasonings. Pretty disappointing. The other dishes at my table got some positive feedback, so it’s not a complete loss.

The food is actually worth 4 stars. The servers are truly kind when they get time for you. Service is slow, very slow. I’ve been in the hotel a week and every day is the same. Kind servers, great food and drink, great atmosphere. It’s Alaska so keep in mind that it’s not San Francisco or New York. Locals love this spot and now so do I. But know in advance it’s gonna be a while

OK, I was only in the bar which is average except for the float planes landing & taking off. It is a typical hotel bar, better than most.

I read the dismal reviews and was not expecting much from this establishment. The food was tasty and the service was impeccable. We did sit near a window and had a great view of the seaplanes taking off and landing in the water just outside our window. The hotel is now called the Lakefront Anchorage and has a lobby full of the animals that once roamed this beautiful state. This lobby is a taxidermists dream. All in all a great experience!

I had the crab/scallop Mac and Cheese. It was great. Server was attentive. Watching the float planes was really fun. I had a $ 25 credit with my hotel deal, I don’t normally enjoy hotel food, but wasn’t going to leave $ 25 on the table. My neighbors had salmon and fish and chips. They were raving about the food. It was a good place.

Oof. Credit must first be given to the Millennium for NOT having a «free», «continental», «breakfast». Seriously, those things are offensive. Carbs, coffee, and re-hydrated OJ(and occasionally some gross pre-hard-boiled eggs)…thanks so much for this continent-spanning«breakfast» that can be made and maintained by a single person. But, this place is just not that great. The food is very plain, bland. Like the proverbial«airport food», and even the prices are similar. We’re talking $ 13-$ 16 for generic SYSCO breakfast items re-branded with touristy Alaskan names. Nothing offensive about the food, but nothing great either. Impression is decidedly lukewarm… prices are not. My waitress was nice though. It was still dark when I was here but I hear the views of the float planes landing are pretty great. If you’re staying here to fly to somewhere the next day, you’d be better off eating in the airport.

Waste of money. Coffee was the best part of their Sunday brunch. Food items on the two table Buffett were comprised of suddenly salad with tiny shrimp thrown in and poorly prepared crapes, and stuffed French toast. The salmon fillets covered in citrus sauce were some what good(the sauce was excellent) the salmon however, was fishy in an unbearable way. I like fish… Anyway, twenty five bucks so isn’t worth it…

Monday morning for breakfast we went to Millennium Hotel to eat at The Flying Machine Restaurant. The presentation over all of everything was nice and well put together. However the service was not so friendly. I wish they’d given a bit more effort into checking on how we were doing, if we needed anything, etc.

Breakfast review. Staff pleasant and attentive. Food, so so. Ordered the Captain’s Special with Reindeer sausage. Only one(single) french toast, which was sliced sandwich bread and dry. Sausage tasted like keibasa. Overall not very satisfying, but not horrible.

Not sure what all the negative reviews are about, but we loved this place. Just a tip — ask for the pub menu from next door. Its more expansive and has some cheaper options, but you can order from either. The reindeer sausage sandwich was awesome, as were the seafood tacos and the bison burger. Great spot!

We came here because it was conveniently located in our hotel, but we were pleasantly surprised by the food and service. World class all around.

I don’t know why I bothered giving them another try… Congratulations to the first place to ever screw up a club sandwich. Perhaps it is suppose to be made with leftover burnt stale breakfast toast. I will NEVER eat at this shit hole again! Even the waitress said she would not eat hear…

2.5 stars We ate a very light dinner here while on a layover. The shrimp bisque was very rich but tasted good with big chunks of tomato and shrimp with mellow seafood flavor($ 4 cup or $ 6 bowl). The fruit plate($ 11) was freshly plated with a mix of fresh banana, apple, grapes, pineapple, and some canned mango. My SO likes canned mango so this worked for him. We shared a berry cobbler ala mode which was decent but a bit sweet for our tastes. It seemed like they might have been understaffed because after we were seated by the indifferent hostess(who was dressed like she was fishing for bar tips) we sat for awhile before the bar manager showed up and acted as our server. Once he came he was polite and sufficiently attentive. I appreciated that he helped me choose a dessert when I was feeling especially indecisive. I wouldn’t go out of my way to eat here again but if I ever got plopped here again, I wouldn’t have a problem giving them another go.

I walked in and was met by a friendly staff member who did not want to seat me in the empty lower section and instead at me at a table in the back peon of the front section because all of the other tables were either taken or dirty. I understand the need to keep patrons in a single area which would have been okay with the exception of the very next party who seem to be friends with the hostess we’re seated in the lower section right in front of the nice fire with a great view of the lake. After seeing less I decided to reach out to my social media and see what others and redid their experience here the first review about the food being better out of the dumpster out of the kitchen immediately caught my attention and with my previous feelings of how they were treating customers I thought it would be better to simply leave.

The food is not worth the price. I do not recommend this place. There are much better places in Anchorage to eat.

We should have eaten out of a dumpster instead. The whole breakfast was awful, but the potatoes in particular stood out as absolutely ghastly. I don’t know what they spiced them with — roadkill carcasses? Do not eat at The Flying Machine.

Quite pricey, but delicious food. The Louis salad is amazing and the fish & chips are equally yummy. In the summer, the outdoor seating is awesome. The brunch buffet is very expensive, quite good but not necessarily worth it in my opinion. Sitting outside is the cat’s meow, watching the planes take-off/land on lake Hood is quite entertaining.
