I had Mongolian beef(Spicy Version) and the half rack of the spicy ribs with candied sweet potatoes. I have to say I was very pleasantly surprised. The wife and I enjoyed everything. Delivery was on time(30MIN.) and the delivery person was friendly. The price of the food was good to the quality and portions provided. We will try here again a couple of weeks from now to try new dishes. If anything changes for the worst, the I will update this. Otherwise we recommend the Tri-grill and look forward to trying out its other cuisine.

A couple of coworkers went here for lunch after it opened and were happy with it. I decided to give it a try, specifically hoping that the Chinese food would be decent. I was pleased with it. The inside of this place looks a lot like it did when it used to be a night club. Walking in here for lunch, I felt like I was walking into a night club, before-hours. I ordered the Kung Pao Chicken lunch special. It comes with an egg roll and dipping sauce and your choice of steamed or fried rice. I had fried rice. It was a rather good rendition of Chinese-American restaurant style Kung Pao Chicken, which is exactly what you should hope for when you order Kung Pao Chicken in America. If you want«real» Chinese style Kung Pao Chicken, get Lands of Plenty by Fuchsia Dunlop and make it. I do. But, there’s something to be said for American style Kung Pao, when done well, as this was. I should have taken a picture. It had chunks of lightly battered and fried chicken, celery, bell pepper, onions, peanuts, and dried red chilies, and was not swimming in sauce. It was appropriately glazed in a sauce that tasted right. I was pleasantly surprised with the meal. The portion side was right, the price was not unreasonable. I would go back and order it again. As to how spicy it is, they(correctly) stir fried whole dried red chilies in with the other ingredients, so how spicy it is will depend on whether or not you eat the whole chilies. They’re easy to just eat around, so you mostly get the flavor and aroma of them, but if you are weird like I am, you can eat the whole chilies, and I ended up with a nice heat level as a result. Overall, I would say that I was happy with the food and would go back and order the same thing again when I have a craving for good old Chinese-American style Kung Pao Chicken, because this hit that spot and I left feeling good.

Chinese/Italian/Southern? Interesting concept. I haven’t been to the other Tri-Grill location, so I have no idea how this one compares. The interior feels much more like a bar than a restaurant.(And it is connected to the club located right next door) The bartender was really friendly. I was here just for food though, so I didn’t order any adult beverages. Service was still top-notch. I decided to try the«Southern» leg of the Triangle. I got«Jeff’s Brisket Sandwich». It was OK. I’ve always been on the fence about my feelings about coleslaw on BBQ sandwiches(this is indeed the way the serve ‘em in many parts of the south), but this sealed the deal for me: I don’t like it. The coleslaw was just way, way too creamy. Mixed with the sweet BBQ sauce, it was just too much. Far too rich for a sandwich, I could barely finish it. If I come back I’ll either try something different, or get the slaw on the side.
