Motel 6

When renting a room at Motel 6 you really aren’t expecting anything impressive. BUT you at least expect covers on the bed, right? Not here my friends. This particular Motel 6 has opted to use old curtains… its 30 degrees outside.

It is now America’s Best Value Inn
VERY clean as they have totally gutted rooms and put in new beds, carpet and showers.
I look up previous info and find that this place had a huge makEover
Pool is great
Staff was very friendly
Beds are very firm… if your truly tired this is a great thing.

Okay, so I’m back after two years, for just two nights, en route to Michigan, and my stay was no disappointment. Not perfect, but very good. My room was clean, with less smoke smell than I remember from before, clerks just as pleasant as I remembered, two I remembered and they remembered me. Overall condition of the premises was good, bed was comfortable. Two issues, the toilet unit was not securely fastened to the floor and made a disconcerting clanging noise everytime I sat down, and the remote control for the tv was fussy, so I had to hit the buttons several times each time I turned it on or off, channel or volume change. If there was one thing I would note in every motel review I write, it would be CLEAN THE REMOTES WHEN YOU CLEAN THE ROOMS. This is an ongoing problem in many motels I stay in, sticky, oily, dusty remotes with buttons that don’t work that great.
One thing about this location is they respond when I report any problem and care about rectifying it. I look forward to staying here again on my next visit, after a few weeks in Michigan.
