Warning!!! This is NOT a Fairfield Inn. It has long been changed to a Motel 6. Very undesirable. No elevator… outside doors do not lock… railing on stairway broken. One star, only because I am forced to give it something, in order to post review.

Just a crummy, crummy, crummy hotel. My associates and I had work in the area so, as we are all top-tier Marriott Rewards members, we decided to stay in this hotel. It was a bad call from the outset. The problems of how lousy of a hotel this is can barely be listed in total, but allow me to try: 1) No elevator. Yes, in 2012 this«H“otel(not a Motel) doesn’t have an elevator. 2) No in-room efficiencies. When we called and asked if the hotel had fridges, microwave, and sink, they told us yes. When we got there, the rooms had none of this to which their reply was«We do in our kitchen downstairs». 3) One of the rooms smelled like a bag of dead mice. 4) My room had a problem with the interior lights that made an extremely loud buzzing sound(like a bug light). When I invited the desk clerk up to listen to the problem(which was LOUDLY apparent), you could see in his eyes and movement that he heard the intense buzzing immediately, but then looked around like he had no idea what I was talking about. All of my coworkers laughed their asses off that he would try to play ignorant on this one as it was loud enough to drown out the sound of someone’s voice. He finally gave in when I stayed silent long enough. «Maintenance isn’t here in the evenings so expect that fixed tomorrow». That never happened. Will they switch you to another room? No, but they will offer 3k Marriott Reward points instead — of which I’ve yet to see. Their suggestion — «Do you NEED lights?» 5) In mid-shower, the shower head just fell off. 6) NOONECLEANEDOURROOMS. We asked about why that happened and they asked if we had do-not-disturb signs on, of which we obviously didn’t or why would we be wondering why they didn’t come.(It is ALWAYS the customer to blame here.) Nothing they could do until the next day.(I wasn’t going to trust that.) 7) Breakfast is disgusting. I stay at Marriott’s nationwide. For some reason the food just cooks more horrible-tasting in the rat-hole that is the Fairfield Inn Anderson Indiana.(Maybe it is the town). 8) Big spiders in the stairwell(that you MUST use because, you know… no elevator). 9) Spider bites every morning. 10) Your room key will work 1⁄3 of the time, so that’s not a major problem. My associates and I were expected to stay at this hotel a total of 18 days between just four of us.(More associates were coming in town). The three of us that had arrived in town early checked out early in the morning after our second night there and moved up the street. I cannot recommend this hotel highly enough if you are looking for a dramatically subpar, frustratingly terrible hotel room experience. This should not be in the Marriott line-up of hotels. 3,000 Marriott Reward points, if that ever even comes, is not worth enduring another night in that hellhole.

Day service was way below par. Evening service was friendly and helpful. Rooms and other amenities are average.
