When a restaurant changes ownership and does not change the name of the business on the building you know that the owner’s are trying to ride the shirt tails of success from the previous owner… Unfortunately, this not only shows that the business owner’s don’t care about standing on their own for having good food, it means they are too cheap and would rather cut corners. It shows in the quality of food. The menu inside has a changed name of Taqueria Los Lagos and the to go menus list Taqueria Los Lagos But the restaurant name on the building is still Taqueria Guadalajara. The 2 or three combo plate options are no more but the selection is still large. I ordered what is my favorite, a Chile Relleno Burrito with whole black beans. I love a chile relleno with tons of gooey cheesy and the perfect little bit of fried flavor. What I got was an overheated old flour tortilla wrapped around a pile of bland rice, cold black beans, a chopped chile relleno(yes chopped, not whole) that was lukewarm and umelted cheap shredded cheese. HUGEDISAPPOINTMENT! They serve the Gold Country Brand of tea, you know the 3 flavors that are«available» in the one extra large tea dispenser… and it is watered down. Lastly, a sign on the register greets you about having to make a minimum $ 5.00 purchase to get chips and salsa or you must pay a fee of $ 1.25 for a basket of chips and 4 small salsa cups. If you live in the Antelope area, you are familiar with the flavors of Taqueria Guadalajara. While every visit to Taqueria Guadalajara wasn’t always perfect, it was nice to know that our food would have flavor, be heated al the way through and have quality ingredients. IF anyone says Taqueria Los Lagos is wonderful… I am thinking you haven’t had really good Mexican food. This place is a farce and I will never return. Quit hiding behind the name of the previous business and learn to serve quality food… perhaps then your business of Taqueria Los Lagos will eventually have its own«taquito» ot two to stand on. By the way… the employees need to stop socializing and start working as well… maybe paying attention to your food prep and not the latest drama in your lives will help improve your profits.
