I always like to judge a place that I am about to eat at by the looks of the restrooms. I didn’t like the lack of cleanliness of this restroom. Empty toilet paper rolls on the floor, toilet paper on the floor, over flowing waste receptacle and very dirty toilet/urinal. To me it reflects on how the kitchen operates. The table we sat at hadn’t been washed and had stains on it. The waitress noticed this and still didn’t even offer to wash it down. Almost as bad as the bathroom was the fact that my menu has either a curly chest hair or a Pub** hair situated between the menu and the clear liner that goes over the menu. Gross Personally the food was alright and nothing really to write home about but the attention to cleanliness leaves something to be desired. Seriously to have someone just walk the restroom once an hour can make a great bit of difference

This place sucks so bad. Do not come here! Unless you want lipstick on your cups and the bland food then go right ahead. The service also sucks. I had to get up and get my own menu because they took over 15 mins just to even acknowledge my family waiting for a menu.

Brought the wife and kids here for breakfast. We hadn’t been here since the change from Dad’s café, due to poor service experiences on our last few visits. As we walked in we realized it was the same manager/supervisor that we were unimpressed with at Dad’s(she was more interested in her phone than her customers). We decided to give this place a chance this morning. The food was actually pretty good. The waitress was in training and previously worked at Sylvia’s. She was attentive and did a fine job. Prior to the bill coming, I shared with my wife that I bet they charge us for the«kids eat free» as advertised on the menu. The mgr/sup brings the bill which of course charged us for the«kids eat free» meals. As the waitress in training, Lisa, checked up on us, I shared the mistake on the bill. She took the bill and brought it to the mgr/sup Zaida(I think), to fix it. Sometimes all it takes is an apology such as, «Im so sorry for charging you incorrectly, give me a few minutes to fix it.» Instead, she decides to change her demeanor/attitude such as if we were an inconvenience to her for having to fix our bill. She took about 7 minutes to fix our bill and dropped it off at the table with disgust on her face. We tipped regardless, and hopefully it goes to Lisa although she is in training. Unfortunately we will not be returning to this restaurant. If you promote your«kids eat free» on your menu, there is no reason to forget to ring it cup correctly. «Kids eat Free», on Monday-Friday, except on Holidays… We gave this place a shot, but with the leader in this restaurant, we are not compelled to return again.

Used to come to Dad’s café for breakfast. Pulled up and saw it had changed hands. Ate both traditional and Mexican fare. Neither were flavorful nor remembered. One Waitress that we had had before actually said she was looking to leave. Bottle of cough syrup on the prep table in the kitchen. Cook, Owner maybe? Hacking in his sleeve. Kids running around between kitchen and dining room. I give it less than a year. Ringing Café Es no Bueno! Had to give a star because Unilocal won’t post without one.

The only thing that’s wrong here, is that I happen to work in the same parking lot and I want it everyday.. IT’S SOOOOOOOOGOOD, I could literally find something different to love here every time I come, the food is fresh and I just love jose(owner) and his lovely wife always smiling always and always welcoming…

We were planning to go to Denny’s close by but decided to try this place. First off the good things, the service was excellent. Our waitress was very attentive. Also I ordered the pozole and it was so good!!! The kids had chocolate chip mickey mouse pancakes and a waffle. They were both good but we had to pay for an adult waffle order(no kids). However my husband ordered the steak and eggs and he thought his steak was hard. He also is a big lover of blueberry pancakes and, unfortunately, they didn’t have any. But all in all this is a pretty good place to have a meal. I would definitely refer the place for their pozole and I would think their Mexican dishes are just as good. However maybe work on their breakfast and have more kid breakfast options.

Came here with my family from out of town. Service wasn’t so awesome and it wasn’t very busy to use that as the excuse. My meal was pretty good better then I expected could have been warmer. Overall it was an alright experience could have been much better if I got better service.

The new ownership is great they kept the old menu and added some amazing authentic Mexican fare for dinner! The Chilaquiles(add chorizo) are a must and my personal brunch favorite is Green Chili Enchiladas with two eggs over medium on top! The only comment I would have is that during the transition the service has changed a bit and is a bit slower… but I attribute that to new staff that needs training.(I.e. If a customer orders a hot tea or coffee bring the accompanying set ups, don’t do a seat yourself thing because you’ll bury yourself and backup the kitchen, bus your tables during services) it’s the little things that will help service go smoothly. Nothing that would stop me from coming back and certainly worth recommending to everyone! You’ll walk away with a smile on your face!

Came in for our second time since it was dads café, really impressed with the service and the food. We order the chicken tortilla soup and it wasn’t like any other tortilla soup from any other restaurant. It had thick cut vegetables, with avocado and nice pieces of chicken breast. It was both healthy and delicious. For our entrees we had pasta and they were both serves with delicious cheese bread. Overall great experience, thank you Luara(who was our waitress) for the great experience. We will be coming back again and again.

I stumbled across this little café one hungry night in Antioch. This place offers great authentic Mexican food. The new owners are fun, friendly, and you don’t have to wait long to get your food. Try the ceviche… It was awesome! This was a hidden gem, I will definitely be back.

I mean, I used to come here when it was Dad’s Café. Didn’t know what happened but it was the most aromatic entrance into a restaurant I had ever experienced. The Chile Rellenos were smackin’. The rice and beans, cracking. All over a waffle, you know I’m heart attackin’. Really though, great food. Great service. Not a bad word to say period.

Bleck! Very sorry to see Dads new owners have decided to install some sort of device that sucks the flavor out of all food while simultaneously adding Yuck. Dads was your typical little local café and we always left there fat and happy. We just tried Rincon this morning and didn’t finish a single thing but the French toast. The service was good and the food arrived quickly but it all tasted greasy and tasteless. No amount of salt and pepper would fix it. Hope this changes in the future. We genuinely like to support local family owed businesses but it’s going to take a while before we try Rincon again.

We were regulars when it was dad’s café. I guess it recently changed to rincon. We were here a couple weeks ago and will not be customers ever again unfortunately. We were surprised of the change when we walked in(it had been a while since we stepped into dad’s). Staff looked stressed. Unorganized. Not friendly. Server kept asking us what we needed but didn’t give it to us until we asked about it again. They were slow. They didn’t make eye contact. And one of the cooks had long hair that was in his face and was not wearing a hair cap. Maybe they were all having an off day when we went if the other two reviews say that they’ll continue going there. We’ll prob try going to the dad’s café in the Brentwood location from now on.
