We took our kids here on A Friday night and absolutely LOVED it. Our two kids really enjoyed it as well. The staff was very accommodating, professional, and overall great. Our waitress had several tables and was swamped, yet took care of every single table as if they were the only table she had. She remembered every drink we had, and came back to check on us several times. As for the food, that was great as well. Their fish fry was very impressive, their Mac N Cheese was homemade, not Kraft, and their burgers were very good. I will ABSOLUTELY recommend this place to anyone. Very good, country style restaurant.

I’ve been here twice now, took the family this time. Everyone was very impressed with the portions, prices and quality. I can’t understand how this isn’t ranked higher… Is it the overalls?

This place has been on my radar for some time. I heard the local TV station do a buy local advertisement featuring the«Machine Shed». It was worth the visit. The theme of the restaurant is farm/country. This is evident as the walls are John Deere green with barn red trim. The décor consists of farm tools and signs. There are old milk cans that were decorated for the holidays. There is a large fireplace that had a nice fire going. We came for dinner on a Sunday afternoon. We were seated immediately. Our waiter was right there to take our order. A couple minutes he returned with our drinks and we ordered. He mentioned that the sides were unlimited and started us off with cottage cheese and dinner rolls. within 20 minutes our order was up. I ordered the«Heartland combo» which consisted of 2 bacon wrapped tenderloins, a slice of pork roast with gravy, and a generous piece of barbequed brisket. The tenderloin I thought was a little tough, but the other two cuts fell apart on the plate. I loved the sauce on the brisket. I left with a to go box as I had no room for it all, not to mention dessert. I really wanted to try the apple dumpling. Well there’s something for next time as a return trip is in order. All in all I give it a 4 star. The service was good, the food was good and the restrooms were clean. There are motion activated faucets and towel dispensers.

Delicious! Large portions of fresh, down home style food. The cinnamon rolls are amazing and gigantic. They do take reservations and can get quite busy. We had the family style breakfast and it was delicious. They start you out with an appitizer of cinnamon roll(4 of us shared it) then we got to choose items from different categories. Bonus is it’s all you can eat and you can switch up your items, biscuits & gravy for round one and pancakes for round two of you’d like.

Average home cooking style meal. We had the prime rib and was not impressed. The server was friendly and the food was good, but not something I would recommend.

Having been coming here for years whenever we stop in Appleton to visit family. If you have a lunch here, be prepared to have a light supper later because you’ll still be full. The portions are very generous! If you come for dinner, don’t have lunch that day so that you’ll be able to eat all the food they put in front of you! They serve family style meals, which means big bowls of vegetables, cottage cheese, coleslaw, potatoes all for passing around the table. And that’s on top of a heaping portion of whatever you ordered for a main course. Breads are fresh and delicious. Salads, too! Value for the money is very good. We also always stop at the Machine Shed in Des Moines, IA, too. The consistency of food and service is excellent.

Last visit I was very disappointed at the chicken pot pie, it was so Salty I could not eat it. I’ve been here quite a few times and this was the only bad meal I’ve Had.

What a cute and delightful restaurant. A country restaurant with matching décor. Waiters and waitresses were dressed in overalls with a red checkered shirt. Drinks were served in a mason jar. The food was so yummy. I overheard the people at the next table say«we must stop here the next time we come into town.» And I agree!

Fantastic prime rib, both smoked and traditional. Large portions of family style sides. Fresh bread and rolls served with your meal. The kid’s meals are served in wagons! Family favorite!

I ate at this place on a Saturday evening and the lack of business should have been a clue to not eat here. I ordered a chicken sandwich, my last meal of the day, took it home and enjoyed it. It tasted very good. However, I woke up a few hours after eating(I ate at 9, went to bed at 11), violently sick. Throwing up for a steady 8 hrs. Yuck. Today I called to let them know what happened and the manager acted like it was my fault I got sick. No sympathy, no customer service whatsoever. I will never step foot in there again.

The server Becky was nice. My husband tried the award winning pork with stuffing and the meat was dried out. I ordered their ribs that are suppose to be smoked there and charbroiled. They tasted as if baked in the oven… hardly any flavor except sauce. The homemade applesauce was great. Also their menu shows more ribs and backed beans more ribs than what u get. We did not have a bake bean choice on their menu. We saw the TV commercials so we thought we would try it. Server was very friendly and good in her job… just a little disappointed on our food selections. The two soups: chili and potato were wonderful, flavored well and the bread was yummy. Just our two main courses could use some attention. Ribs were better at Famous Daves. Their cinnamon ice cream was tasteless… was told it was Kemps… I added their apple sauce to a scoop of cream on my own and gave it some taste. The ice cream was flat in flavor… We may come back and try it again… we live about one hour away.

Yummmmmy! A barn theme makes this restaurants special in its own way. The food is surprisingly delicious and the staff attentive and well-versed. My waitress Tammy, a zaftig girl in the requisite bib overalls worn by staff was cute as a button with a personality to match. The chicken liver appetizer, sautéed with mushrooms and onions is to die for! I’d skip the lumpy gravy that comes on the side and dip them in some catsup. Meals come served with a side of coleslaw and cottage cheese in the old style of restaurants. The ribeye is a bit thin for my taste but surprisingly delicious, I would go for a smaller yet thicker steak, it makes the overall flavor so much better. But the 10 ounce at $ 18.99 is not a bad deal and the vegetable side and rice are delicious as well.

After a long wait of nearly an hour the staff finally decided to put some tables together and put our party of six in the bar. Fortunately the food made up for it. I had the beef tip with garlic mashed potatoes. They were light on the garlic, but heavy on the peels. I wish I had known and I would have ordered a baked potato. My husband had the ribeye which was done to his liking. The waitress was very nice.

Have to say, pleasantly surprised. The food was really quite good. I’m not really a fan of the themed uniforms or corny phrases instilled by training, but with good food and great service, I can’t complain. Started with some potato wedges and burnt ends. The potato wedges were good, fairly standard with cheese and bacon. The burnt ends were delicious though. Definitely the highlight of the meal. Texture was great, bbq sauce was delicious. Next time, I honestly may just get the burnt ends entrée, they were that good. My entrée was the smoked turkey sandwich. It was decent, good smoke flavor, but not worth getting again and I certainly wouldn’t recommend it. But it is one of the healthier options on the menu and I figured after the potato wedges and burnt ends it’d be a good change of flavor. I do want to mention the great service as well, food came out very quickly and the waiter was engaged with the table. My friend had asked if he could just get some baked or grilled cod as opposed to breaded and the waiter had no idea. He checked with the chef and came back promptly and said they’d be happy to do so. It was an enjoyable dining experience.

What an adorable restaurant! It has a very homey«farmer» feel to it because there are lots of decorations on the walls and throughout the place. The waitresses even dress up in cute farm-y outfits! The service was very friendly when we came here for a Sunday brunch buffet, which had a huge selection. They had pretty much anything you can think of at this buffet! I would definitely return here in a heartbeat for a filling, delicious, reasonably-priced meal.
