World Of Beer

This place is right near the Fox Valley mall and is a perfect spot for lunch or dinner. So many beers to choose from and the menu is awesome. If you can’t find a beer you like then you don’t like beer. If that’s the case they also have some pretty cool mixed drink cocktails and wines too. There really is something for everyone here. Watch the Game, hang out with friends, or take a business lunch and get some work done. It’s like a starbucks for beer drinkers. Join the loyalty club and you can track your beers and received some cool perks along the way. There is an app you can download on your phone also showing what is currently available. Often there are special tappings of unique beers and ask about the infusion tower where they make good beer even better.

Pleasantly surprised to find this WOB location serves food in addition to an awesome beer selection. Saturday night, a good 3 piece band in the corner playing some cool tunes, a burger and a few beers — what’s not to love? I had the BBQ Bacon Burger with tots. Cooked to perfection and tasted great. Service was attentive even though almost every table and all the bar seats were filled when I walked in. Excellent array of TV screens above the bar and a few along the other walls if you want to watch the game while you eat and drink. Thinking about going back today to watch the playoff game!

I’m a beer guy and when you say you have 500 different bottles of beers, you got my attention. The bottles are organized by style of beer which is nice if your prefer a specific kind of beer. Of course my favorite style section they have is «Wisconsin.» There are about 20 taps, a lot of them are Wisconsin beers. The bar is in a corner which opens up the rest of restaurant. There’s a little stage area for comedians and small music acts. I know this is a chain, but they definitely adapt to the Wisconsin culture.

I visited WOB during the summer and sat outside. The outdoor seating is nice, but it would be great if there was something — shrubs, etc. — blocking the view/​noise from the street. The beer was good and the cheese plate was delicious.

Finally decided to give this place a second chance and was not disappointed. This time was an absolute blast! I was able to find an absolutely amazing new beer to drink and I had the pretzel with cheese dip. Definitely the best pretzel I’ve ever had! The server I had was extremely helpful and knowledgable as well as funny and friendly. I’m so glad I gave it another go :)

I got into town late, and was staying at a hotel within walking distance. They served food until 10:30 (as I was leaving the kitchen did a last call). No one can deny, this place has an incredible beer selection. I sat at the bar, and felt attended to without being either rushed or ignored. The bartender answered some of my questions about the sour beers they had on tap, and directed me to a delicious one. I had two shrimp tacos, which were surprisingly good and filling. They weren’t the most incredible tacos I’ve ever had, but for $ 7, it was the perfect amount at a good price. They weren’t skimpy on the shrimp, and all of the ingredients seemed fresh.

Not impressed! Service is mediocre food is at best mediocre and for what your paying for the beers and the food it should all be more then just mediocre. Better places around then this with better food drink prices and service.

Happy hour is 3 – 7 Monday to Friday and 10-​close Sunday to Thursday. $ 4 select drafts and $ 5 tavern food. Amazing selection of draft beers with even more bottle options. Their menu is very good. Be sure to try the best sliders and apple cole slaw.

Will never go to this place again! I went there with family for drinks, not because it was happy hour, but to enjoy their company and we took advantage of «happy hour». Not so happy when I found out their happy hour menu was a select menu we didn’t know about (shame on me). 15bucks for two crab cakes!!! Are you kidding me! 130 bucks later I feel a tad u satisfied. Shame on you WOB

No matter how busy, the staff is attentive and knowledgeable. Order a flight, let them know your preferences, and they do their best to match. The bartender’s know their inventory, and even introduced my husband to one of his now new favorites, New Glarus Moon Man. For a «chain» bar, they hold their own. Looking forward to visiting more locations. (Already a fan of West Palm Beach, FL and Arlington, TX).

I’m a bit tipsy, so I rounded a half star up. In fact, I’m still sitting in the restaurant drinking a cold German brew and eating one of their tasty flatbreads. Great beer selection, fast service, surprisingly good food. Eat here when you unexpectedly find yourself in Appleton, WI.

My coworker and I come here for dinner quite often. The servers know us and always stop by to say hi even if they aren’t waiting on us.
The beer selection is amazing. The draft list is strong and organized well on the ever changing menu. When I get tired of the drafts, the bottle and can selection is even more impressive. There are even a few WOB exclusives.
We even have a membership to the WOB club and track our beers on our phone app (no we don’t have a problem.).
The food at WOB is high above average. There is a wide variety and selection. My favorites include the artisan sausage board (pickled okra– YUM) and the veggie and hummus wrap. The only disappointing meal I’ve had was the Chimay burger. It was quite dry.

Exactly what I was looking for! Wanted good bar food and a good selection of beer. The tour of Belgium was a great sampler. The shrimp tacos were good and can’t beet a pretzel! You can sit inside or outside. I went with indoors to watch all the games on the TVs.

This place is amazing. By far the biggest micro selection in Appleton, if not all of Wisconsin. 500+ bottles and maybe 40 taps, mostly west coast beers on tap, really hard to find items. I’ll be back here every time we come back!

Came here at 2:30pm on a Monday and we were literally (and I mean that in the correct definition and usage) the only people in there, which makes sense and I didn’t mind, however the food took a LONG to come out which I thought was weird considering. But man oh man was it worth the wait. Everything was absolutely delicious. We ordered the brat sliders, margarita flatbread, and the pesto sandwich and everything was delectable. I also had a pineapple cider which I enjoyed as well. The kale Apple slaw (a side option I chose with the sandwich) was dry :/​don’t order that.
So other than the slow service and the dry coleslaw this place is amazing!

My biggest complaint is the pour of beer I received here. You’re called World of Beer, so you better know how to pour a beer properly. The pour of the IPA I received was 95% foam. A few different things could have gone wrong to produce this (beginning/​end of keg, differing temperatures, settings not calibrated correctly, incorrect pouring of the beer, etc.), and I’m not sure what the root cause was. However, the beer clearly should have not been served.
So when the bartender plopped it down in front of me (did I mention service was so slow I had to go to the bar to get drinks?), I gave him a quizzical look. He responded with — «it will settle down and be fine.»
Rather than arguing about the bad pour, I took it to my table, took a photo, took a sip (after it had settled and warmed, because who doesn’t love a warm IPA with no carb?), and eventually took off, never to return.
Again, if this was Applebee’s I wouldn’t be so surprised at the bad beer etiquette. BUT YOUR NAME IS WORLD OF BEER. All of your bartenders should be Certified Beer Servers, you should get a Cicerone or two on staff, if only to train others.
When my beer settled, it was less than half full. This was due to improper pouring technique for a nitro beer.
Also, you shouldn’t assume that because I lack a neck-​beard, I wouldn’t know that the pour was improper. It’s not like I ordered MGD 64.
Never again.

A proper pour of a nitro beer takes longer than a non-​nitro beer. Rushing it results in the photo I posted.
I’m increasing my review to 3 stars, however, based on the messages I received from the manager apologizing for the improper pour and poor service. I appreciate the attempt to rectify the situation.

I have been hearing great things about World of Beer since it has opened. I took the opportunity to meet some co-​workers out for dinner there on a Monday night. It was amazing.
I think they have one of the best beer selections in the area. The waitress that we had knew the beers and made great suggestions, in fact so good that I just told her to surprise me when I needed another beer.
The food was very good, we had the Artisan Sausage Board for an appetizer. This came with 3 types of sausage, peppers, pickled okra and some whole grain mustard for dipping. For dinner I had the Chipotle Chicken Sandwich which was very good!
This is not a large bar, so at times it did get a little loud with Monday night trivia going on. However the bar was packed on a Monday night.
If you want to go somewhere with great beer choices, great food and a lively atmosphere in Appleton WI, World of Beer is the place to be. I am looking forward to going there again.

This place has everything. The best beer selection ever. Hands down. i dare you to offer a place with more beer and staff who knows what to recommend based on your taste.
Awesome food. I’m still thinking about the amazing Chipotle BBQ Chicken Flatbread. It was perfect.
And the staff is STELLAR. These folks sling beer and actually know what they are talking about. Great people. If you like beer like I do, its so awesome to get recommendations from knowledgeable people.

Seriously, if they had a bed in the back (or front), I would cancel my hotel and stay here.

Make sure you say hello to the manager Jessica. She actually cares about the customers and has a passion for beer.
If you are in Appleton, WI, you should be here. This is like being at Willy Wonka’s factory for beer lovers and people who love beer lovers.
If World of Beer was a religion, I would convert.

Went on opening day (³⁄₉) and of course it was crazy! All of the staff was so nice though. I had the steak sandwich and it was amazing! The McKenzies Black Cherry beer was delightful — my new favorite. I’ll be back soon :)
