Awesome Vietnamese food now. Had the spring rolls and chicken phở. Both were fresh and full of flavor. Prices are totally reasonable. Excited to have this in my hood.

Call ahead just to make sure they’re open, but if they are it’s a brilliant place for breakfast. The BEST coffee, rich as all hell. The corn chowder = great. The eggs benedict = great. Service is brilliant. Bar, too.

I absolutely love this place. The vibe is so great you forget where you actually are. The lights are low, string lights are the only lights aside from candles at every table. The music is always so fitting for the night– LCD soundsystem, edith Piaf, Etta James, muse… It is just so diverse! The food… Yall… It is so freaking good. The Caesar salad has house made croutons, the most bad ass anchovy dressing, with fresh Parmesan. The appetizer size is big enough to split with a friend. I’ve had the hangar steak, cheeseburger with hand cut fries, and the veggie stack. They usually have specials posted on their Facebook for a delicious, fresh seasonal meal. The potato soup one night was topped off with truffle oil and it really set it off. My husband and I usually start off with a bottle of wine– all of which are a great price. For his birthday, they made us a sign for the table and even brought out his favorite dessert– crème brûlée. The staff is so nice and I am so happy to have more than a diner in my hometown. Thank you so much! Overall, I would highly recommend this place 10⁄10

Yeahhh, Yeahhhh. Big tyme, big tyme. All the chairs were different — not alike. The glasses were different — not alike. The bathroom was squeaky clean and they had really nice soap! All of the food we had was delicious, and we had terrific service. –I had the cheeburger, cheeburger. –My GF had the drum — and she loved it –Her Father had the pulled pork brunch special, and he cleaned his plate. Big tyme, big tyme. It’s a real nice spot and has a very comfortable feel. Welcome home.

We were in Arabi for work and we decided to go to the highest rated restaurant around. We were not disappointed. We both had the burger and it was extremely good. The one downside was that it was absolutely frigid inside and they don’t have fountain drinks, which is always kind of a downer. I’ll definitely go back if I’m in the area though. The staff was also very courteous and friendly.

Lovely little spot with wonderful atmosphere, tons of charm, and consistently delicious food. The hanger steak is probably the highlight of the menu, but I’ve eaten here about a half-dozen times and never had a bad meal. The décor is a little DIY, but that only serves to underscore their personality(along with menus done up on typewriters!). This may be the first restaurants in my life that achieves the perfect balance of good/cheap/close(of course, that last one may not apply to everyone, I know). Highly recommended.

Been here twice now, and I highly recommend it! The food & service has been wonderful both times. My favorite thus far is the cheeseburger: outstanding beef, perfectly cooked, and the bun has jst enuf sweetness to play well with sharp cheddar & saltiness of the fries. I didn’t ask, but I believe the fries are hand cut & double fried like pom frites. The food takes a little bit of time to come out, but I think it makes for a great dining experience with friends. I really dig this restaurant! :)

I had driven by this place several times before the lady friend and I stopped in after our failed attempt to find parking for Krewe Du Vieux. I assumed with a name like Old Arabi Eats that it was a cafeteria for a nursing home. I figured I could find things like prune pudding and liverwurst sandwiches. Glad I was wrong!!! We walked in and the place is dark with just some string lights and candles to give off that romantic like vibe. Very cozy and warm feel to the place. They usually tell you to sit wherever you like as the place is steady but there always seems to be a table available. Then the waitress brings you a paper menu with only 2 appetizer choices and 6 – 8 entress to choose from. The menu is different everyday. I think this is great because then you know the chef is making what he wants and he’s not going to get bored and just mail in your meal. There is real craftsmenship involved. The 1st time we went I got a grilled porkchop that was on a bed of some black eyed peas and sweet potato concoction. The presentation was like art work. I ususally so not notice stuff like that but this caught my eye. It was unreal good!!! The pork chop was perfectly cooked and the black eyed peas and sweet potato concoction was a perfect side. I was blown away by this. This was a 1st class meal for only 16.00. If I got this at a French Quarter restaurant I would have had to pay close to double that and it still would have been worth it. We went again this past Friday night and this time I got the hanger steak with little red potatoes and creamed spinach. The sauce on the steak was great, it was cooked perfectly and again a bargain at 20.00. They have a decent wine selection and a dessert menu that I didn’t get a chance to look at since I am working on my girlish figure. By far the best restaurant in St Bernard Parish. There isn’t even a close second. It’s worth the trip to this side of the Industrial Canal and that’s saying something.

great menu, and we so wanted to explore, but we also just wanted a killer burger. so we got blue cheese and bacon. MOST excellent, and the fries? perfection. we also got a caesar salad, and I must say? thats probably the best FRESH salad I have had in years. I could LIVE on that. pelligrini lemon soda? very happy. love the ambiance, and the fact that this is in Arabi, my old hometown. just excellent. we will be back many more times to try some of the other dishes. sweet potato frittata? yum… def one of the best new restaurants that has opened post K.

We ate here last Saturday and I still can’t stop thinking about this place. I had it bookmarked forever and just kept passing it by… no literally… we pass by this place all.the.time. It’s really close to Gabe’s house. You know how you just have this fave lil spot you always like to go to? The place that makes you feel cozy and comfy? Well this may be mine! Doesn’t look like much on the outside. It’s connected to other businesses. Even a yoga studio upstairs. I walked in and thought… «omg! soooo cute!, look at the lights, where do we sit? Booth or cozy table for two?» I picked the booth since Gabe likes lots of room to spread out his plates, smh. Next time, it’s the cozy two top near the bookcases so I can smeeeellll the books… mmmmm. There were candles at every table. Christmas lights strung throughout. They give you a paper menu with only about 5 main dishes and a few apps. Right up my alley! I don’t like too many choices. I don’t want to spend too much time deciding on food. I’m there to stare into my boyfriend’s eyes as they scan the room for ninjas that may be hiding in the shadows. Just kidding. He’s past that. We had a talk. I just freakin love this place! It’s a feeling, right? **light bulb moment**. Sure the scallops where delish and the bf’s pork chops were more delish(I always wish I’d have ordered what he ordered). And the Malbec was mmmmm smooth and didn’t bite back… my new way of describing red wine. It’s fancy/casual… not busy… GREATMUSIC, OMGALMOSTFORGOTABOUTTHEMUSIC. If you’re 35+, you’ll love it. Staff was so nice. I think there’s an outdoor patio but wasn’t opened that night. It was kinda cold. And a bar you can sit at. And ladies, the bathroom was cute and clean.

Perfectly seasoned and seared scallops! Hanger steak was worth every penny if you get too focused on the price. Nice small location with quiet atmosphere with a very attentive wait staff. Make sure to order the fried banana ice cream sundae for desert! Great wine service as well with individual coffee press service for desert.

I started work a Caesar salad with homemade croutons/dressing then had a special grilled tuna/asparagus and baby potatoes that was to die for. The tuna was grilled and seasoned to perfection. The wine pours were definitely drinker friendly and prices can’t be beat. Hopefully they will have outdoor dining for the fall. If you haven’t ventured to da parish recently this is lil place DEFINITELY worth the ride

AAAAAAAAAAAHMAZING!!! My boyfriend ordered the Hanger Steak and I did the roasted chicken with the bread pudding dressing. At first I wanted to leave because of the décor and the limited menu, but my boyfriend encouraged me to stay and I am sooooooo happy I listened to him. We had the most amazing time! The service was impeccable and the food honestly taste like each plate was made in that moment. I will definitely return! A++++++++++ OMG I FORGOTABOUTTHEDESSERT!!! WOW! OK, so it’s not the most sophisticated place… more like one of those«hole-in-the-wall» type of places. BUT, let me tell you… OMG! This place is good. There was three of us at the table, so we each ordered something different so that we could taste each others and get more tastes of the menu. EVERYSINGLETHINGONEVERYSINGLEPLATEWASDELECTABLE! Hanger steak, seared greens, braised potatoes, pork loin, corn bread pudding. hamburger, fries… you name it. I have been back several times and will continue to go. I just know that the chef at this restaurant will go big time at some point and leave the coziness of this great place. I fear that time. Until then, I WILL enjoy this gem.

Not sure why it’s taken me so long to write this review, but I came here a few times during my trip to new orleans and loved it! All I can say is that the food here was simply perfect! Every dish that came to our table was fresh, healthy and delicious. the clam chowder was hearty & flavorful, the scallops and the hanger steak were succulent and the strawberries & chocolate sauce we had for dessert was the icing on the cake! and to top it off the owners are incredibly sweet! I’d say the ambience is inviting and pleasantly low-key… Like other reviewers had posted, the menu does change daily and it is small but it was still varied enough for us — we each got a steak, a fish, a chicken and a large bowl o’ gumbo… An added bonus: you will walk out with a happy wallet!

For a small, unpretentious restaurant just on the Arabi side of Jackson Barracks on St. Claude Ave., there are surprisingly few things holding this place back from being a five-star joint. The first is that the menu is quite small. If you’re dining with an allergic or difficult-to-feed person, it’s worthwhile to investigate the day’s offerings before banking on eating there. However, if you and your companions are easy to feed, you’ll be glad that the limited offerings are deliciously prepared and reasonably priced. The crab cake has no discernible bell peppers in it(not a fan of those) and is quite crabby. The mussels took me at least a level or so above my usual mussel euphoria and are therefore highly recommended. The service was attentive without being overly so, and the waitress intuited appropriate breaks in conversation to check on our table with minimal intrusion. The wine offerings are nice. It’s casual and there’s ample parking. The only other thing that could be improved upon is the seating. However, in their defense, they inherited the seating from a less interesting establishment, and perhaps if they take off, the seating will change. It’s not uncomfortable, but it doesn’t really invite relaxation either. That said, it should be stressed that I am really looking forward to going back, and I’m super glad they are in the neighborhood.
