After hearing about the difficulties that the business of Radio Shack has suffered, I appreciate having this one in our neighborhood unchanged. This store is well lit, well kept, and pleasant, with easy parking. On this Saturday morning of a Memorial Day weekend, I went in hoping to have the batteries of my inexpensive Timex watch replaced, as in the past. Bill, a new manager, was the only one in the store at that time. After ascertaining with me that he would not be held responsible for any damage to the watch, he honored my request in exchange for the purchase of a battery from their well-stocked wall display, for a whopping $ 7.(Special tools and deft hands are needed for such a job.) These days, a service like that is one that we can no longer take for granted, and it is truly appreciated by me. Thank you.

Worst customer service ever! The«assistant mgr» was sweet but didn’t know what she was doing. She completely messed up our purchase, forgot to put one of the phone accessories in the bag causing my husband to drive all the way back there later that night, and to top it all off, the rude«manager«never apologized for our inconvenience. He actually had an attitude with us. And when my husband went back later to pick up the«forgotten» item, the lady was apologetic for her mistake, while the mgr just walked away! We will stick with Best Buy next time.

I was on my way back home, minding my own business, listening to a podcast of NPR’s Wait Wait Don’t Tell Me, when the battery died in my iPod, Ooooh Nooo Mr Bill! Crap, I forgot to charge my iPod while at the hotel, but then, it shouldn’t be THAT low because I haven’t used it since the drive up, 4 days prior. I still have a 3+ hour drive ahead of me and I feel it’s important to NOT let this thing sit dead for that long. I have the USB cable, but no way to charge it in the car… what to do… what to do? Radio Shack to the rescue! I stop and(wait for them to unlock the door, since I arrived just before they opened at 10 am). I ask for a cig-lighter /USB charger adapter. The guy walks over to a display on the counter, pulls one off and hands it to me. $ 18 + tax. SCHWEET! The guy(Richard) was not very personable, kinda like he was hating life, but perhaps he just hadn’t had his coffee yet? Anywho, I unwrap the charger thingy, plug it in and I’m back in business and back on the road! Woo Hoo!
