If I could give this place 6 stars I would… really authentic gujarati vegetarian thali… mindblowing taste, variety, quality, efficiency and the food just keeps coming(unlimited) until you realize u are going to burst if you eat anymore. For dessert I love their rich mohanthal… I love their daal khichdi and wish it was a constant and not switched with pulao. tip:I always ask for their shreekhand earlier with the meal so I can eat shreekhand with puri! No matter what time you go be ready for some wait cos its crazy popular!

If you are visiting LA or living in LA, this place is a MUST visit. They serve some seriously lip smacking authentic Gujarati Vegetarian food. I would recommend you to go during the non-rush hours like an early lunch or a late lunch to avoid the crazy crowd. I went twice, once during non rush hour and once during the peak rush hour, the former was definitely better because they pay attention to the sequence of food served to you. Remind you, this is a «unlimited thali» experience, so it is best when you get the food items in sequence and get refilled at the right times. In any case, highly recommend them. It is noisy during peak hours. Go there with an empty stomach and maybe with some noise cancellation headphones, haha. Enjoy!

One start coz I cannot give 0 stars. We came in for lunch buffet. Came in at 2.40pm and out by 3.00pm. Waiters are so rude. They serve the food on plates unlike normal buffets, which was nice. I asked a waiter to get some Puri and curry. before he could come back another waiter was here and removed my plate, I thought he was going to replace with a new, clean one. But I was given a check and finger bowl to wash my hands and leave. After we gave a card and we’re leaving then the waiter came back with food saying«oh u r leaving. Bye.» The overall experience spoiled our whole day.

This place has been around for ages and throughout the time I have known this place, the food and the service have been consistently high quality. No matter how crowded it gets, you get the same standard of service. The food is tasty, plenty and wholesome. This place embodies typical Indian hospitality and I always feel like I am a guest at an Indian wedding. What impresses me most is the cleanliness. I have always noticed that most Indian places, which serve unlimited food, especially if they serve to an almost-packed restaurant most of the time, really treat cleanliness as an option or worse, dispensable. I find, this place is remarkably clean.

This is best Indian vegetarian restaurant near LA. The authentic thali is my favorite one and with reasonable rate(15 $). I always visit this place no matter how long I have to wait in queue. Ambience is good, music is light and they serve you with lot of affection This is a must visit place if you come to Artesia!!!

Whether you’re a fan of Gujarati food or not, this place is a must visit just for their hospitality. The food is awesome though and be prepared to eat Indian style with your hands. I promise you won’t regret it as they cap your sumptuous and wholesome meal with a finger bowl.

While randomly walking around Pioneer we got relatively hungry from all the delicious aromas, so to satisfy my curiosity, we walked in Rajdhani. Not knowing what to expect we just followed along and did as the other patrons did. Asked for a plate and let them serve us. All dishes provided were placed inside separate individual metal bowls. And all the food was oh so yummy vegetarian. The best part was that it was provided buffet style. So anything you liked, the server would come back with seconds or thirds or more(depending on your hunger level). And the meal didn’t just stop at appetizers, soup, and entrees. Dessert was also given. Next time I feel hungry, I’ll be bringing more people to let them have a try.

Went to this place on a sun afternoon, would say food was okey and service was a little slow. We had to wait for about ten mins for second round of servings of veggies after asking them about four times. Dessert was normal, nothing really that special I would recommend about this place.

We had heard a lot about this place before visiting LA. On our first day we dined at Standard Sweets across the street from Rajdhani. And the authenticity and quality of food there raised our expectations and Rajdhani fell short on it. The servers are good but they neglected to tell us what their specials were. On our way out we noticed they were also serving mango pulp and on asking why they didn’t serve us that, they said that we should have asked for it. But we did ask for their specials and what was for dessert when we sat down for our meal. It wasnt mentioned in your menu and you didnt tell us either. In the end he asked us to sit down and have our meal again, which was sweet but of course not feasible.

I LOVE Rajdhani! Its my one of my favorite restaurants in SoCal. This place only has vegetarian food with so many options. They serve a gujarati thali, its a vegetarian buffet where they bring the food to you. I am a gujarati and I have tried a lot of restaurants in India that serve gujarati thalis and so I feel very confident in my recommendation that this is the best gujarati food you will have in LA. They serve warm rotis with ghee and there is lentils(mung, chana, etc), dal, kadhi and aloo or cabbage sabzi, rice, khichdi, samoasa or pakoras or some other type of appetizers and they also have a desert in the end which you can chose from. I remember some options are gulab jamun, faluda or gajar halwa. Plus, all this food is UNLIMITED. The food is always fresh and the service is nice as well. They also have parking garage next to the restaurant. About the feel of the restaurant, this place is a little crowded at times and makes me feel nervous because the tables are jammed together. Another downside is that it is closed on Mondays but then so are most restaurants in Artesia. But, overall an amazing place which I would recommend to anyone who wants to try authentic gujarati indian food.

I have been hearing about this restaurant for a very long time from my sister in law and had been missing out on an opportunity to visit it for quite a long time. It turned out that the right time for it would only be when I had to drop my parents off at my brother’s place. And that weekend, we decided to head there as a family group, my 4 year old nephew inclusive! Having been accustomed to a lot of good Indian eateries around NJ area(specially within the Woodbridge, Edison and Franklin townships), the formidable challenge I had while visiting my brother @ LA was to check into a decent Indian restaurant. He did take me to a couple of places nearby — and none of them could live up to any decent standards. Rajdhani @ Artesia was definitely a game changer to my view of the available Indian food varieties in the West Coast side. Here are some of my comments — 1) The ambience and seating arrangements are pretty good. You could be good with a group or as an individual — though the arrangement was suggestive of being more welcome for groups 2) The«thali» is the biggest hit there. With continual servings of Roti /poori and subzis(that were limited in # but good with quality), it does look like they have tried to make a good deal out of the whole thing 3) The pricing point was also average and not too out of place for a group of 5 adults and a kid 4) They were accommodative of special requests for the kids — and to the needs like hot water etc. Servicing was definitely at its best with the waiters always being available around the corner 5) The food was definitely great and a class apart.

I was craving for Thali and upon friends(who are Gujaratis) suggestion visited Rajdhani. It is a vegetarian AYCE/mini-thali restaurant. Mini-thali does not come with refills of side dish, roti and rice. They also serve Jain-only food(for those who have some diet restrictions). We went with the AYCE thali($ 14.00/person). Staffs were attentive and regularly checked with any refil requests. They brought in butter milk, water, roti(with ghee), puri, potato pakora, dhokla, paapad. 5 side dishes — patora(eggplant with coconut), channa masala, dal with spinach, kadhi and plain dal. I liked dal with spinach and patora. Rest of the side dish including butter milk tasted as if it was watered down. Roti and puri both were great — freshly made and went good with dal. Later they brought plain rice, pulav(yellow rice with mixed vegetables). There were no spicy items at all. Good for non-spicy lovers(if there are any). It was a good experience as I have never tried Gujarati thali. But for the ridiculous price they have and quality of food I would NOT dine here again. Parking is in the garage(shared by Rajdhani and Briyani factory) and it is FREE.

My friend accidentally found this place and I’ve been here twice ever since. At first I wasn’t sure if I was a big fan of their all you can eat concept buffet. But to be honest, I wish other restaurants followed the same concept. Food comes to your table, food keeps coming, refills left and right. Reminds me of the Brazilian places. Workers here are super welcoming and attentive, they truly do make you feel at home. Although this is a vegetarian place, they also cater to Vegans so that was a huge plus. They give you a sign to place on the table and that way the servers know exactly what to offer you that is vegan friendly. Some of their food can get a bit spicey but nothing that a mango pudding can’t solve! spicey fresh and flavorful all in all. The small bowls that they use can be a little deceiving at first, but you best believe that you will walk away stuffed. I’ll keep coming back for sure.

It’s all about vegetarian food, some more vegetarian food and keep getting me more vegetarian food. So, if you are new to this kind of unlimited thali(plate filled with food) serving restaurant, it’s worth a try. It starts with a glass of buttermilk and a big steel plate with small bowls on the side which are going to be constantly filled with freshly made vegetarian curries as you eat. To start you get a choice of roti and/or Puri and they are not going to stop serving unless you ask them not to. Followed by that you get a choice of khichdi or white rice as part of the main course. Also, there’s a dessert that’s part of the thali once you finish eating your main course. The vegetarian curries were fresh and served warm, cooked to perfection. Also I like their Puri but the roti can be too oily and thus a four star. The staff is friendly and nice, I’ll be coming back again when I’m in the area.

Vegetarian buffet where they bring the food to you! My mom and I came here upon recommendation by a friend and were pleasantly surprised at the service and the food. We tried a bunch of Indian dishes – daal, okra stew, peas, purri, chapati, etc. The deal is about $ 13 per person for all you can eat. The food was flavorful and super spicy but our waitress was kind enough to bring some yogurt to help make it more palatable. For dessert we ordered the rose ice cream with basil seeds and the saffron yogurt. Would definitely come here again :)

This was definitely an experience. Instead of the tired old snack shops, Rajdhani was definitely different. It has a nice ambiance(the décor and seating is nice, the bathrooms are horrid). Service was excellent. I can take some spice the food is definitely on the spicier side. The rotis and puris are really fresh and really good.

Rajdhani keeps it simple and does it right when it comes to the quality and deliciousness of the food. However, when it comes to service, they extend your meal way beyond necessary because they haven’t perfected their supply chain of serving dishes. Their pricing is definitely expensive for the combination of food and service offered. Based on rave reviews by hubby and friends, on our trip to LA I made sure my parents and me would stop here. It was on Thursday and we arrived here at 7pm. When we arrived except for another couple there were no other patrons and this couple had almost ended its meal. So until the time that people started filling in my parents and me were given all the attention. Our starters came out quickly: eggplant, onion and chili fritters, dhokla– a soft spongy cake like savory dish and the side dishes– potato sabzi, guvar sabzi which you typically pair with bread(puris/rotis with or without ghee) were all served in quick succession. In the mean time the restaurant began to fill up and we were left waiting for refills of the bread and the longest turn around time was for serving the khichdi and rice. The food was perfect, no doubt! but to have to wait for the next course and literally leave your fingers to dry is an inconvenience. This is where they have to look into not getting distracted when new customers come in to ensure a good flow of food. They provide 1 complimentary dessert with the thali. I ordered jamun and my parents didn’t get anything as they are diabetic. I had to wait for my dessert and the finger bowls came out after, so parents were just waiting for me to finish my meal. People in these reviews mention that there are no other restaurants serving this style. I would urge you to try ‘thali’ in Santa Clara, Bay Area. They offer more dishes, have the same format– veg Gujarati thali and are way more efficient

Our friends from San Diego(Shout out to Vijju maamu) were visiting us and we went to a Halloween event at the Cerritos Regional Park. After the kids were super tired at the event, we proceeded to Little India for dinner. Our friends recommended this restaurant and we tagged along as we had never dined here. This marks us trying out all the restaurants at Little India at least once. Side Story: «Plate meals» at any«Mess» or «Hotel» were what we relied upon during our various temple tours in India. As an intermediate student going from Gajuwaka to Maddilapalem changing buses at RTC Complex, I loved the 6 Rupee 50 Paisa plate meals during lunch time at Sri Venkata Krishna Mess close to the bus station. 6 Rupee 50 Paisa is 10 Cents at current exchange rate for a full meal. :O :O :O The main feature at this restaurant is a «Thali». The concept is a limited item buffet served onto your steel plate at your table by servers. 1) An empty steel plate is placed in front of you. Buttermilk and Water jugs are provided at your table. 2) Appetizers etc. are dropped on your plate. 3) Carbs(Roti, Puri), Protien(Lentil curry, Sambar etc.), Vitamins(Vegetable curries) are placed on your plate by servers. Steps 1, 2&3 are complete within couple of minutes of you being seated at your table. 4) Carbs(Rice/Pulao) are offered when servers notice that your plate is nearing completion. 5) Items from 2, 3, 4 are continuously offered when your plate is nearing completion. 6) Dessert at the end if you are done eating 2, 3&4. It cost us ~70.00 for 4 Thali’s, and 2 orders of Puri for the toddlers. Pros: 1) Unique concept. Not many restaurants offer a dinner buffet in the greater LA area.(+1) 2) Everything tasted fresh and was served piping hot(Temperature). 3) Servers were sort of attentive and kept refilling all our food items. 4) Restaurant has a covered parking lot. Abundant seating. 5) Free Buttermilk ya’all(+1) Cons: 1) Expensive ~ 15/person for the variety of items offered. For less than this amount, other joints have non-vegetarian items too.(–1) 2) I forgot how intrusive the entire process is/was. There will be a constant flow of servers inquiring whether you would want the items they are carrying. We could not carry a conversation with our friends through the evening.(–2) 3) Items had flavor. However they were not hot(spicy) at all. Some of the curries tasted sweet.(–1) 4) Server had to reach over me to serve on Mrs’s plate.(–1) I can cross this off from the list of things to try here. However, most of the cons here had to do with my personal preferences and not something wrong with the restaurant itself. I would definitely recommend trying this restaurant at least once to experience a Thali.

We came for the lunch buffet midweek. The service and the food are top notch! A buffet where items are constantly replenished at your table by wait staff-Im there!!! All of the food was carefully prepared and full of flavor. The wait staff consistently checked in with guests and brought over 15 different food items while we were there. At the end of the meal, especially enjoyed cleaning my hands in warm water bowl. Overall excellent experience! I look forward to returning soon. Tip 1– Park on 2nd or 3rd floor of parking structure. Restaurant is on the 2nd floor Tip 2-if you’re with a group, order one of each dessert and share! They are all delicious! Tip 3-If you eat meat. take a break… This place is VEGETARIAN!

I really like Indian food, specially the lunch buffets. But this was a different kind of Indian buffet, they come serve you at your table. Cool! The Thali meal intrigued me. Vegan /Vegetarian set meal. I don’t usually eat that way and I was looking forward to it. What is a Thali you asked? Well, according to Wikipedia«It is an Indian and Nepalese meal made up of a selection of various dishes. The idea behind a Thali is to offer all the 6 different flavors of sweet, salt, bitter, sour, astringent and spicy on one single plate. According to Indian food serving customs, a proper meal should be a perfect balance of all these 6 flavors.» Good to know right? lol. Before anything else I would like to start with the service. It was informative, friendly, accommodating and outstanding all the way around. The food was brought to the table and refills were offered frequently. Excellent Service. My Thali meal: Rajdhani is on the second floor. As i entered the restaurant, I was immediately greeted. My meal options were explained to me(AYCE or non-AYCE) AYCE of course and I was seated. As soon as I sat down. A stainless steel tray with 5 stainless steel bowls were presented to me. Before I could even take a picture, my first course was placed on my tray. lol They told me what it was, but I’m not Indian so I will just describe it my way, since I didn’t get the proper names of the dishes(or I couldn’t spell what they said, sorry) Corn bread cubes — that’s how I would describe it. It was very good. Then: Papadum — crispy flat bread. Always good. Salad — it was a salsa. Just okay. Buttermilk drink — a very very mild yogurt drink. Not bad, but I would not order this. and water came next. And in quick succession: Dal — Lentil dish — it was my favorite of the night. Yum! Cabbage — I was expecting a sweet dish, but this was different. It was okay. Beans — Black eye bean, were good. Not a bean fan though. Fried Items(Potato, Egg Plant & Jalapeño) — All good, specially the eggplant. Roti — a tortilla — That’s what it looked to me and that’s how I used it. lol Soups: A Tomato based soup — which was good. A Yogurt based soup — which i loved. I had 3 helpings of this one. My last dish was called a Kadhi — It was a saffron based rice porridge — It was very lightly flavored(okay, it was bland), but I really liked it. I eat a lot of porridge so this was a comforting dish to me. I had 2 big helpings of this one Yum Yum! For Dessert, I went with the Falooda Ice Cream — A rose flavored ice cream with basil seed. This was a great ending to a very adventurous meal(even for me). 5 stars just for this dessert. The basil seeds were a good textural contrast which worked really well for me. I didn’t think I was going to be full when I started, but I was. Was everything a hit, No. But I have a new found respect for Indian food and the different flavors in a Thali meal. 2015 Review #110
