I love Asaka. The food is always good. The wait staff are pleasant and have never screwed up our order in all the years we’ve been eating there. The portions make a dinner and two lunches for me and are a great price. This is not gourmet Asian, just good food. I hear their sushi is good, too.

Place had us waiting for almost 30 minutes for 4 simple sushi rolls while several other vehicles came and left. I called to speak to the manager Tony and they said he was busy on the grill. So I came on Unilocal to leave a review about the terrible service.

Thought about going back the other day, but then I remembered how badly I felt after getting in that weird argument with the manager. I passed.

I love the California rolls here. They’re only $ 3.50, they give you 8 pieces, and it’s made when you order it. Very fresh. I’ve eaten their teriyaki chicken meal also and it was quite good. Not a fan of the carrots because they are sweet and soft, but delicious other than that. Great prices, lots of food. I like coming here.

Took forever to get our simple plates… and then found out they didn’t even make one of them! I’m not waiting for your mistake! There is better food faster all over town. Will not be back.

I had susah dinner here. I shouldn’t have Fist, the place is rundown. Broken window shades, broken Japanese lamps, dirty walls, dilapidated menu behind counter. And it doesn’t look clean either. This sets the tone for the restaurant. Second, the sushi wasn’t that great. The The servers were nice. Outgoing and friendly. But that didn’t make up for the food. It is very cheap for sushi

I like it. I get the steak & chicken with steamed Jasmine rice. Everyone I know that has eaten here love it. I just ordered here today for myself and a friend that’s never had it before. He got the Teppanyaki chicken, and really liked it.

We stopped in thinking it was a fast food place. It was kind of a strange set-up though which isn’t necessarily positive/negative. We ate inside. The wait was about the length of a standard sit down restaurant minus the waiter/waitress. Food was very reasonably priced and pretty good. One qualm I figured all restaurants around Asheville would be beyond is that Asaka used styrofoam for absolutely everything. We were eating inside the restaurant with styrofoam cups and styrofoam containers. I would have given a 4 star review had the restaurant used more eco-friendly serving pieces… especially when eating within the restaurant. The price/food ratio was appropriate.

Stopped in for a quick spicy tina roll. It was ok. The rice could have been fresh it was a little on the hard and dry side. I wish theu would make authentic spicy tuna which is tuna mixed with chirracha rolled and seasme seeds. Still was good on portion. I would come back.

Absolutely great food! Chicken tender(and big pieces) rice perfect veggies wonderful. And the sushi is great too! I’m sure there are«better» Japanese restaurants around, but this one is wonderful. And you get an extra large portion of everything(including the chicken) and can easily have two meals out of one. I get the Chicken Teriyaki and I love it.

Don’t. The waitress was sweet and friendly, but the food was beyond terrible! Wanted to give it a shot, but whew, never again.

Lousy sushi, but the lunch dishes are cheap, fast and acceptable. It’s in a handy place near Biltmore Village. But you can do better.

This is by far the worst food I have ever eaten. We chose to eat here because we hopped it would be healthier than McDonald’s or Hardees, boy were we wrong. We ordered the Teppanyaki chicken entrée plate. The carrots tasted slimy and probably came out of a can. The«fried rice» tasted like mashed potatoes from Boston market, with a hint of pepper. The chicken cooked along side some mushrooms, looked alright but when I bit into it it was so tough that my jaw started to ache after the 2nd bite. The only redeeming part about the meal was that you could eat it without throwing up immediately — 20 minutes after eating it I am still able to hold it down, but I feel absolutely horrible. The best part about this restaurant is that is close to McDonald’s where we went afterwards to eat something that resembled food. If i could give this place negative stars I would.
