This is a chain, and Red Lobster are known for pretty decent food. So, it’s down to the local franchise to create that special place that you must revisit. Unfortunately this location does not do that. My wife asked for special seating, and the hostess seemed quite put out, throwing our menus on the table. This was not a good start. But our server, Scott, was very helpful. The food was ok, but nothing to write home about. I will probably visit this restaurant again but only because there are not that many good fish restaurants in Asheville.

My review is based on my latest visits for take-out lunch. I’ve ordered a caesar salad twice in the past few weeks. They were very helpful on the phone, explaining that I could get shrimp at no additional charge(I’m vegetarian.) When I arrived to pick it up 15 minutes later, it was ready.(Both visits they were really efficient.) They also gave me those amazing butter biscuits. I have no complaints, and would recommend this restaurant to a friend. Would I return? Hmm, probably not to dine inside, but take-out yes! I can’t stand to see the lobsters waiting to be burned to death right at the front. I would love to see an option to order online in the future! :)

We got there 30 minutes before they closed. We had a wonderful server. She never made us feel rushed and the food was great!

Lunch here was just okay… We did the four course for $ 16.99 deal. The soup and salad were yummy, but the shrimp and scallion Alfredo was very watery. The hand battered shrimp wasn’t anything special. Wish we went somewhere else for lunch…

Prices are a bit much sometimes. Our server was above and beyond a wonderful dude, but some of the front desk people seemed a bit snooty. It’s a fish joint lady. Don’t feel so high a mighty. Overall the price and weirdness up front kill this place for me. Its a occasional dinner at best.

For starters I used to love coming to Red Lobster that being said it is not the same Red lobster from just a few years ago. The food still tastes good but the portion and presentation is not. They have gone down on their portions so much that when it comes out on the huge plate that it looks even smaller. If you want to serve smaller portions then put it on a smaller plate. The service here was outstanding.

My food was cold… Possibly straight from the freezer and nuked to room temp? It was some sort of seafood pasta but was more like plain noodles with a cold can of fancy feast poured over the top. The server was nice enough but slower than Christmas. Save your money and pop a can of friskies if that’s the taste you’re going for. I’ll be generous and give 2 stars because I don’t care who you are… Those cheddar biscuits are tasty.

This chain has gone down hill so fast it is amazing. We had 2 adults and 3 children there for lunch today and everything we ordered was inedible. The shrimp, fish and French fries were limp and soggy and the oil it was prepared in was old and stale tasting. The burgers the kids got were dry and the bun was so old it crumbled at the touch. We will not be back

This was by far the WORST Red Lobster I’ve ever been too. I live over an hour away in a little town, so we take our family to the«big city» of Asheville to shop once a month or so. We always make a day of it, and try to eat in restaurants that we don’t have in our little town. We were seated directly behind the hostess section. I don’t know what was going on with the waitstaff, but nobody seemed to know who had our table. It took almost 40 minutes just to receive our drink order. We got iced tea, so it wasn’t a bar issue. We finally ordered our food. My Mom ordered soup and caesar salad off the lunch menu, and we all chose various dishes off the lunch menu, thinking it would be faster. About 30 more minutes passed and we got cold cheddar biscuits along with our salad. The waitress forgot my sons salad, and said she would bring it right back, we never got it. Our meal arrived at the 1 hour and 20 minute mark, but they were missing my Moms… the easiest, clam chowder(which I would guess was made already) and a caesar salad(which also should’ve been made). We told the waitress and she disappeared. We continued to eat, and nobody came back. Another waitress walked by, so we told her what was going on. My daughter got a meal deal that was supposed to come with dessert. I asked them to box her dessert and to please get my Mom’s meal. Another 10 minutes passed and our waitress came running with the iced tea pitcher. We had to explain that we needed to leave, so she ran to get a manager. Apparently he was busy, because he never came. Our waitress came back with my Mom’s meal in a togo box, along with cold soup in a small coffee cup. My daughter didn’t get her dessert, so the waitress went to get dessert explaining that they were having a hard time in the kitchen cooking(because brownies and ice cream get«cooked»?) After 2 hours and 12 minutes we finally exited the restaurant. They comped my Mom’s meal and never said they were sorry… not a good experience, and we won’t ever go back to this Red Lobster again. There are many, many, many good restaurants in Asheville. Don’t waste your time and money on this one.

Not bad chain restaurant seafood. We got the oysters,(which were oddly huge), clam chowder(really good), Crab(fairly decent), Corn on the cob(great), and their bicuis(my favorite). Our waiter was awesome. If you are craving seafood and you don’t live near and ocean and do not have that much money, just go here. It’s not horrible. I was content and did not leave unhappy.

Seafood at its worse! This place has went down hill. Was seated, then waited 23 mins before I had to go get the hostess to find our server. Lobster bisque= cheese dip. Crab legs= no meat. Mashed potatoes= lumpy, bland paste. The cheddar biscuits are the only thing worth consuming at this dump. Forget«service». And they will up-charge you for everything you want to substitute. Go somewhere else!

This place was packed on a Saturday at 1430. There was an hour wait to get a table but there were seats open at the bar. We sat at the bar and the service was great. The food was perfect, hot and fresh. All of the staff which we encountered were extremely friendly. This was an enjoyable experience.

Whatever you do, specifically ask not to be seated at table 27. It’s off in the corner in some kind of purgatory between 3 sections, and no one appears to be clear on which server is supposed to handle it. So, as a result, we sat there for 10 – 15 minutes as 6 different servers walked past us without saying a word. Finally, a nice girl named Kelly noticed that we had no water or silverware or anything, and went to get someone. After that, the experience was mostly fine. Our 2nd waiter(not sure what happened to the first one) apologized for the wait and took our order. The shrimp were tasty enough, but it took forever between our orders to get our Endless Shrimp. We ended up being there for nearly 2 hours. When it’s a chain like this, you’ve got to go on the individual experience of each location, and this one is far from great, sadly. Were it not for Endless Shrimp, I’d seldom if ever step foot in the place.

Boyfriend’s Mom decided she wanted to try out the new 4 course lunch special at Red Lobster, so the GPS found us the closest one and there we were. We were seated immediately, and everything started out well. Cheddar biscuits were good as always, and we all ordered — boyfriend the fish and chips, me the lobster pasta, and his parents both the sailor platter. The 4 course lunch, as it turns out, is a TON of food. The salads came out, and about 4 bits in I found a hair that obviously did not belong to anyone at our table. Done with that one. Then the entrees came, and boyfriend found one in his french fries. Apparently someone in the back wasn’t wearing their hairnets or something. The food was typical Red Lobster, but it was hard to get past the hair in 2 dishes. Had there been a chance it was one of ours, that would have been one thing. But there was NOWAY. The server was nice enough about the first one, and offered to bring me a new salad.(Boyfriend didn’t want to tell about the second one, although I wish he had.) Too bad, because had it not been for that, this probably would have gotten three stars — service is good, there’s lots of parking, and its what you’d expect from any Red Lobster otherwise.

Not sure how this Red Lobster got so many low reviews, unless it’s being compared to Asheville’s «food-topia,» which isn’t fair. Red Lobster is a chain restaurant — if you’ve been to one, you’ve been to them all. They offer a lot of good seafood dishes; something that’s hard to find in WNC. This particular RL has prompt and super-polite service. The food is great and consistent. Love the breaded shrimp — breading has good flavor. The variety platters are always a good choice too. I don’t know of any other place around WNC that offers the variety and high quality seafood that you get here. Go and enjoy!

Arrrgh! This place blows! This place could easily be the location in that FreeCreditReport.Com commercial… just throw an eye patch and a tacky pirate hat on the servers and this place would be magic. Well, magically sucky. The price is cheap, but so is the food. It’s bad when you would turn a Red Lobster for a Waffle House or Denny’s.

Who knew? Red Lobster actually had some decent food. The Honey BBQ Shrimp and Chicken(on top of mashed potatoes) was good, though I’ve had more tender chicken. The potatoes were whipped as I like them. The hint of BBQ sauce from the food on top was nice. The cheddar biscuits were light, airy, and tasty. Our server was attentive and not overbearing, refilling the fountain drinks as I was ready without needing to request it. Not my normal choice, but was a place the person I was with wanted to go. It was surprisingly better than I expected.
