Businesses seem to come and go in Ashland; however, Nimbus has been a fixture in downtown Ashland for a long time. I do like to wander in here and look at all the wonderful things in the store. What I am always drawn to the art glass and other crafts and the home décor. There is also a clothing section for both men and women. The clothing doesn’t fit my lifestyle, but I still admire what they carry. I wish I had bought some of the wonderful art glass I’ve admired over the years; I would have a beautiful collection.

Meh. The men’s selection here is seriously dated, positioned towards older, Boomer guys with too much money who like a 90’s look. Think along the lines of jeans that have very thin material and should cost $ 70 but cost $ 200, and printed shirts from Tommy Bahama, as well as faux suede shirts etc… you get the idea. It’s the kind of spot for dudes who still think pony tails are hip. I went to buy a leather belt and what they had was that sort of cheap woven leather belt with the too-shiny buckle. Anyone with fashion sense will know what I mean. Contrary to popular lore, this is NOT the only menswear store in Ashland. The far hipper and much more fashion-forward Summit and Fields is just up the street. Village Shoes, also a couple of blocks away, does much better on men’s footwear, carrying John Fluevog and other contemporary styles. The folks at Nimbus are nice enough, and they have a really good tailor downstairs. It’s just that what they carry is only good by small town standards.

Nimbus has a warm atmosphere, multileveled in fact which adds an extra visual dimension for discovery. They’ve done a good job with their collections for both men and women. The negatives seem to indicate a generic staff ennui. I bought a sweater and asked my salesperson to call me in three weeks so I could have a pair of pants shipped at a later time. I told her I was also interested in a tee shirt when my size got re-stocked from their next order. Well, she didn’t call. Nor was she there when I called the store myself. Nor were any of my details on file. I was told the pants«we’re on their web site» if I wanted to just buy them there. In a split moment I remembered my pants would be on many web sites; and in this way they solved my problem.

Nimbus has men & women’s clothing, a tailor shop, art gallery and more. It is a bit upscale but gifts and other items at reasonable price abound. A fun store to browse. The selections are high quality and the staff are very helpful.

I always stop here when in Ashland. They have a great selection of men’s casual shirts for my husband, as well as some unique jewelry items for me. The women’s clothing section has aged beyond my tastes in recent years(I am 35), but my mom(65 years old) still finds some good pieces. This place can be pricey but check out the sale racks for bargains. The jewelry and art selections remind me a bit of The Real Mother Goose in Portland.

Landmark shop in downtown Ashland, the shop has been there for as long as I can remember(at least 1974). Has expanded over the years to accommodate a larger selection of items. It currently has a great selection of men’s and woman’s clothing as well as jewelery and some limited furnishing items. Carries some unique and local artist items as well that can’t be found elsewhere. It is on the pricey side for Ashland but no sales tax in OR. Went in to Christmas shop and ended up buying presents for myself. Very friendly and helpful staff that definitely has a no pressure attitude. Stop in when in town, you will be glad you did.

Top notch selection and service. As Ashland’s only«men’s» store it would be very easy for Nimbus to skate along with the necessities. Quite the opposite, the store always has fresh styles and designs that I would normally have to travel to San Francisco or Portland to purchase. I have purchased everything from jeans, sweater, slacks, blazers, shirt, ties and shoes for my business wardrobe. There woman’s, jewelry and gift sections are equally well stocked. A great shopping experience each and every time.

I love Nimbus. It has been here as long as I can remember. Fx, the jewelry store that used to be here in the back, has moved to two storefronts on the corner and they’ve rearranged the store to accommodate the change. The main store has art glass, ceramics, cards, some jewelry, big gong-like bells enameled in bright colors decorated w/large Asian calligraphy designs. I can see them in Nina’s garden. Or mine. I have lost track of what I’ve bought here over the years. I’ve admired far more than I’ve bought, particularly the kinetic wooden wall sculptures. My wooden jewelry box came from Nimbus, as have at least one pair of earrings and a set of elegant placemats w/a black and white musical staff design. Nimbus is a store on three levels. There’s a men’s store a few steps down and I noticed yesterday that menswear is now being displayed in the area of the upper level that used to be devoted to art glass. Nina and I have bought gifts for our menfolk here over the years. Yesterday Larry bought himself a gorgeous leather jacket. A few steps down from the men’s store is a store devoted to women’s clothes. There’s an entrance to that store from the adjacent mall. I have tried on clothes there over the years but can’t remember whether I’ve bought any. I remember buying a bottle of Gunne Sax perfume there. My favorite part of the store is the upper level. The prices aren’t cheap, but the work is excellent quality and worth what they charge.

Nimbus is a wonderful store. I can always find high-quality clothing and handbags that I cannot find anywhere else on the West Coast. These pieces of clothing can last a lifetime. Things are expensive though, but what can you expect for such wonderful quality? It’s a great store.

Nimbus is one of the several local establishments that caters to tourists within downtown Ashland. And since its so close to the theatre and Lithia Park, I usually end up wandering in when I visit as part of our annual visit. Nimbus has separate men’s and women’s clothing sections and a nice and spacious gallery-like arts and crafts area. They carry attractive merchandise that at the same time seems to be a bit spendy. I did end up buying a nice crafted wood frame that I had been considering for awhile.

I really like the art gallery portion of the store, and they have some beautiful jewelry that are truly works of art themselves. They’re constantly bringing in fresh, usually local, artwork that’s of really great quality. They have some smaller stuff that’s great for small gifts too. Located along the main street, it’s well worth checking it out even if you just go in and look.
